I am sitting by the pool looking at the small movements of the water under my feet. I smile and start thinking. Austin and I a few months back decided to send in applications to colleges and just see what happens, well today one of his came in. I didn't open it but I am nervous. The envelope says it is from Columbia University in New York. What if he got it and accepts it? I never applied anywhere in New York. Are we going to be separated? What about the kids? What about us?
"Ally?" I turn and see Austin in the doorway smiling, "What are you doing sweetie?" I sigh and look back at the water. I feel someone sit next to me and grab my hand. I look up at him and he looks worried. "What's wrong baby?" I sigh and look down, "A college letter came today from Columbia University… for you." I look up and he looks at the water, "Baby that was a college the counselor said would be good for me." I smile and turn and look at him.
"Austin I know we both applied to colleges and we don't know to where but like I mentioned before what are we going to do? I never thought you would want to go to college and that surprised me but in a good way. However, what if we go to different schools? What about the kids? What about us?" Austin grabs my hand and places his other hand on the side of my face. "Ally, I love you more than anything and I love Aubrey with all my heart. This other baby is going to be the same way. This family means so much to me and I don't want to mess it up but Ally, we will just have to hope we applied to schools close together or to the same one and got in."
I smile and then frown, "What if we didn't?" he smiles, "Then we will figure something out, I promise." I nod and he stands up and puts his hand out, "Let's go see if I got in." He leans down and helps me up. He grabs my hand and we walk into the kitchen and over to the counter where I left the letter.
He lets go of my hand and opens the letter. He reads a few things then sets it down. I look at him and he gives nothing away, "Austin?" He smiles, "I got in." I smile and hug him, "I really am proud of you." He kisses me and lets me go. "I promise baby we will be together." I nod against his chest.
I am sitting on the couch while Austin and Aubrey are in the kitchen cooking. My phone goes off and I answer, "Hello?" "AHHH!" I laugh, "Trish, why are you screaming?" She breathes heavily, "I got into The University of Miami." I smile, "That is great Trish I am so proud of you." "No wait, I also got into The University of California." I smile, "Trish that is really great, I am so proud of you."
Trish and I talked for a few more minutes and then we hung up and I walk into the kitchen to find Austin and Aubrey with flour all over them. "What happened in here?" They look at me wide eyed, "Umm…" "Mommy…" I laugh and look back at Austin, "Well…We were trying to make homemade cookies." I laugh again and sit down, "Well… You guys have a mess to clean up." They look around at the flour on the floor and then at me and they smile at each other before walking up to me and hugging me getting flour on me. I laugh and push them back some, "Well thank you guys but I you guys are still cleaning this up." I get up and walk for the door, "Clean it up and we can go out for Chinese."
I walk up the stairs and take my clothes off and put a pair of loose shorts and a tank top. I slip on flip flops and pull my hair into a pony tail. I walk back downstairs and look in the kitchen to see it almost cleaned back up. I sit on the couch and turn on Pretty Little Liars while I wait.
Someone jumps on the couch and I turn to see Aubrey, "I'm ready." I smile and lean over kissing her, "Yes you are." I turn and see Austin coming down the stairs, "Okay, kitchen is clean and we are dressed, let's get some food." I laugh as I get up and walk with them out to the car.
We pull into the place and it takes me a minute but I get out and start walking in with Austin and Aubrey. I look around as we wait to be seated and see some people from school. "Hello, just the three of you?" I nod and the lady grabs menus and stuff and leads us to a table. We sit down and Austin looks at the lady, "We all want the buffet and I want a coke." I smile, "A coke and I got something for the little one already." She nods and walks away.
Austin gets Aubrey and they head off and I sit and wait for my drink. I take a few sips and then get up and head to the food. I get a plate and fill it up with a bunch of random things and sit down and start eating.
Aubrey is complaining that she is tired and Austin is still eating. I sigh and look down at her, "Daddy will be done soon. How about some ice cream?" She nods and I walk with her to the ice cream and get her some chocolate ice cream as I walk back and I sit it down for her to eat. Austin finishes half an hour later and he pays as me and Aubrey head out to the car.
Austin comes out and starts the car. He looks behind him and sees Aubrey leaning against her car seat. "Wow she really was tired." He pulls out and heads home. We pull into the driveway and I see an all too familiar jeep in the drive way. I get out slowly and see Alex hop out of his jeep and make his way to us. He hugs me and sees Austin get a sleeping Aubrey out of the car. "Hey Austin." Austin nods and heads to the door. I follow and open the door for him as he heads upstairs with Aubrey. I let Alex in and walk to the couch and sit down as he sits next to me.
I turn and smile, "So what's up?" He laughs, "Well I was wondering where you applied for school?" I smile, "Well… Stanford, University of Miami, University of California, Ohio State University and Berklee College of music, and a couple of other ones but those were my main ones." He smiles and nods, "Good." I look at him confused, "Why?" He smiles, "Well I was seeing where everyone applied, you guys are my closest friends and I don't want to lose this." I start to talk but he holds his hand up, "I know Ally, I know we are graduating and we will probably never all get into the same schools but I like to hope. I know we will all go our separate ways and right now I don't want that to happen and I don't want to think about it." I smile and hug him.
Austin comes around and smiles, "Sup Alex." Alex pulls back and shrugs. "I was about to tell Ally that I got into the University of Miami and Stanford and I also just today got my letter from Harvard." I look at him and squeal, "Alex, oh my god. That is amazing. I can't believe that. You are going to be amazing at any school you choose but oh my god Harvard." He laughs as I pull back. He and Austin do this weird hand shake thing and then Austin smiles, "That's great man."
Austin sits next to me and Alex looks at him. "So Austin, where did you apply?" Austin looks at me and I smile and nod. "Austin I already told Alex but I will tell you… I applied to Stanford, University of Miami, University of California, Ohio State University and Berklee College of music, and a couple of other ones." Austin looks at me and then smiles and looks at Alex. "I applied to Columbia University, University of Miami, University of Florida, Berklee College of music, Juilliard, Ohio State University, University of California Los Angeles and a few others."
I look over to him and smile big noticing that we applied to some of the same schools. He grabs my hand and smiles and I know we are thinking the same thing. We may have hope after all.
We talked with Alex for a few minutes and then he hugged us both and I got up with Austin and we walked him to the door. He turns at the door and smiles, "Can you believe that we are graduating in two weeks?" I shake my head and hug him again before he walks to his car and Austin closes the door and locks it. "Let's go to bed." I nod and we walk upstairs.
I take my shirt off and Austin comes over and wraps his arms around me from behind and kisses my shoulder. "You glow when you are pregnant." I laugh and turn around in his arms and place my arms around his neck, "Oh really?" He smiles and nods, "Yes Really." I smile and laugh, "Don't get any ideas." He smiles and leans in kissing me. He lets go and I put on one of my night shirts and really comfy shorts and climb into bed.
Austin leans over and kisses me and places his hand on my stomach. "Night little guy." I smile and he grabs my hand and plays with my ring, "Have you thought about when you would like to get married?" I smile, "Well I want to not be pregnant." He laughs, "Well I knew that but I mean like around when." I look at him and shrug, "I would want a nice day so not a lot of rain and not to cold, maybe around June or July, maybe even August. I think I want to wait a little bit though. " He nods and kisses my hand and turns over wrapping his arm around me, "I would wait a million years for you baby."
I have seen that people are thinking that this story is over…. Well, I got news… This story is most defiantly not over.
I actually wanted to ask you guys a question… WOULD YOU WANT TO CONTINUE OR HAVE A SEQUEL?
I have ideas through the college years and also have ideas up until the kids get about into high school.
I don't know would you guys read a story that was that long?
Do you want a sequel or an all out ending?
