A/N: LAST ONE I PROMISE! XD Well, not the last on, but the last one until I update all my other fics XD

This was actually a request on tumblr for more Ramona. And being Ramona trash, I was not about to pass that up XD. So this takes place immediately after 'The War for Dimension X', where Raph and Mona finally get to know a little more about each other. Bear in mind that since we have NO IDEA about Mona's backstory, I'm improvising :)

"So this substance your younger brother speaks of, this 'pizza'…is it a delicacy on your planet?"

Raphael chuckled, shaking his head. "Well, Mikey seems to think so. But then again, Mikey thinks most food on earth is a delicacy," he said, shifting so that his arm brushed against Mona's as the two stared out into the endless void of stars. Thanks to the Kraang, Mona Lisa's ship had been too badly damaged for even the Salamandrain's to properly repair by themselves. So Fugitoid had offered them a ride on his ship until he'd repaired their craft for them.

To say that the red clad turtle and the salamander weren't inwardly overjoyed by the idea would be an understatement.

During this time, Mona and the commander had gotten to know everyone a little better; G'throkka had actually enjoyed listening to Mikey prattle on about the wonders of food on planet earth, and had spoken with Leo on his admirable leadership skills – as if the dork hadn't had a big enough ego already.

Mona had bonded quite well with April, the two of them trading secret things that neither of them had wanted any of the boys to hear - watching them cast knowing glances over at Raph and Donnie ever other second had been most unsettling to say the least.

However, the best thing had to have been when Casey had so confidently challenged the lieutenant to a sparring match, to which she had readily agreed. And when she'd so graciously beat the ever-loving crap out of him, Raph was sure he'd never laughed as hard as he did then.

Now, the two of them were finally alone together, gazing out at the expanse of comets and stars that lay before them as they talked, truly getting to know one another. So far, Raph had learned that Mona had been training in the Salamandrian army since she was very young, for she'd wanted to stand up for her people, to fight alongside her hero, G'throkka, who soon became a father figure to her. He'd also learned that she'd been partial to the colour pink, until she met the Kraang. When asked if her favourite colour was red, she'd smirked at him, bumping him with her hip – and had nearly sent him crashing to the floor in the process.

Now, it was his turn.

"So, you and your brothers were trained to be 'ninjas' on your home planet for fifteen years, under the instruction of your master and father, 'Splinter'," Mona recited with interest. "You've fought many battles against the Kraang in the past, and other creatures much like yourself. You like to read 'comic books', and you are fond of…did you call them 'pigeons'?"

Raph snickered, cheeks turning a soft shade of pink at that particular bit of information he'd allowed to slip. "Uhm, yeah. I've got a thing with a lot of animals, but pigeons are easier to get along with. You ever come down to earth, I can show you how to communicate with 'em. It's a little tricky, and their feathers can get all up in your nose, but you get the hang of it."

"I would like that, Raphael," Mona smiled. "And you have no need to fear; I do not give up easily."

"Believe me, I don't doubt you on that," Raph grinned, before the two of them looked back out the window, lost in their own thoughts as they fell into a comfortable silence. Her eyes still locked on the glittering stars beyond, Mona lifted her arm and draped it around Raph's shoulders. In turn, Raph slipped his arm around her waist, gently pulling her closer to his side.

Was this what Raph had been missing out on all this time? This strange yet comfortable contact with the person he held close to his heart? The corny, sappy, yet easy display of affection they shared even in the presence of his brothers?

Well…dang. Perhaps he finally understood why the others were so hung up about their own relationships…or lack of thereof.

"I believe that you will succeed, Raphael."

Blinking hard, Raph turned to look up at her, his brow raised. "Huh?"

The Salamandrian turned to him, sincerity and deep understanding burning behind her dark eyes, her grip on his shoulder tightening. "You and your brothers are powerful, honorable warriors," she said firmly, turning him around so that he was facing her. "You strive to do what others never would have, even when all hope seems lost. You let nothing stop you from doing what is right and true in your heart, and for that, I admire you, all of you. And I have faith that you will find the last fragments of the Heart of Darkness, destroy it, and save your planet. And I will be there by your side should you ever be in need of my aid."

She then leaned forward, her forehead bumping against his as she closed her eyes. "So do not despair, Raphael. I believe in you."

Eyes widening, before filling up with tears despite his best efforts to repress them, Raph swallowed the lump in his throat, squeezing his eyes shut as he leaned into her touch, his lower lip quivering. It was true, despite the fact that they retrieved the first piece of the Black Hole generator, the odds were still stacked so high against them that it was hard to stay positive. And with the memory of his father dying right before his very eyes…

However, with Mona Lisa was by his side, reassuring him, giving him that extra push to keep going…

"Thanks, Mona," he said, his trembling voice barely above a whisper. "Damn…what did I ever do to deserve you anyways?"

Mona Lisa smiled. "I wonder that as well. Perhaps that is one thing about each other neither of us will ever truly know."

Raph shrugged one shoulder, smiling even though the tears yet to fall still lingered in the corners of his eyes. "Eh. I can live with that, I guess."
