Written for The Continuous Pairing Challenge - Parvati/Lavender

As soon as she heard, Parvati rushed towards the place only she knew that Lavender would go first. She would have to apologize to Seamus for leaving him two big boxes of fresh bandages to deliver. Lavender always comes first.

First, she heard it from Pansy Parkinson. She didn't believe it the slightest; everyone knew Pansy talked bull. Next, as Parvati collected the boxes, she saw Hannah Abbott mimicking someone crying and wailing "Won Won." Then, as she and Seamus neared the Hospital Wing, Harry came out and winced at the sight of her. Harry hesitantly approached her, seeing as they weren't in the best terms since the catastrophic Yule Ball when Harry didn't even bother asking her to dance all night.

"Er," Harry mumbled, scratching the back of his neck. "You might want to check on Lavender. She's, uh, hurt." he said, finally looking at her straight in the eye. "She ran out crying when Ron mumbled Hermione's name in his unconscious state. I know you're good friends with her, and we're worried."

As if they're really worried. It's what they're waiting for, aren't they? For Lavender to finally shove off?

Parvati gave Harry a cold, hard glare before dashing towards the opposite direction, to the Owlery where she knew Lavender would be.

She could already hear wailing from the steps leading to the Owlery - it was baaaad.

"Vee..." she called out, slowly approaching her best mate who was hunched over, shaking with tears. Parvati kneeled down in front of her, taking her hands in hers, "Vee, it's going to be okay. Ron and Hermione - " Lavender cried loudly at that, "can shove my fist up their arses. You're better than them, okay?"

Lavender continued wailing, "That.. That Granger girl! She must've cast him in a trance to say her name in his dream! This is all a set up to throw me away! I KNOW IT!"

Parvati frowned - she knew that Ron only liked her because of certain things, and 'attraction' isn't any one of them. "Vee..." she sighed, "Come on..." Parvati then pulled Lavender in her arms, the scent of warm apples wafting through her nose.

Lavender sobbed against her chest, warm tears soaking the fabric of her shirt. "Why did he.. Why did he...?!" Lavender couldn't even speak through her sobs.

"Let's not talk about him, okay? You know what - you should forget about him!" Parvati wiped the tears off her face once she slowed down with sobbing. "Let's order a bunch of new clothes from Gladrags, makeup from Sapphira, and shoes! Lot's of 'em! I'll even brew you my special hot chocolate; my Mum owled me five packets of cardamom powder!" she held Lavender's face on her warm hands.

"Just forget about him, okay? He isn't worth it. You don't need him to be happy." Lavender looked down.

''I don't know..."

Parvati's heart started beating fast. She wanted to kiss her badly, but won't that be taking advantage of her emotional state? She was very vulnerable! But Parvati was tired of waiting on the sidelines for the so-called 'perfect timing' because there is no such thing. It is the person who creates the perfect timing, and for Parvati, this is her chance.

Lavender felt warm, soft lips on hers, very different from Ron's. It was Parvati's.
