Chapter 23: Surprise Reunion

I still couldn't get over the shock that my grandpa Charlie was really here, right in front of me. I could only imagine how my mom will feel once she sees him again, and once she finds out that he married Sue and now has a daughter with her.

It surely felt all to surreal for me. He gazed adoringly at little baby EJ who was still in his arms. EJ was smiling happily as he played with his great grandfather's hair. Great grandfather, you wouldn't believe grandpa Charlie was a great grandfather by just looking at him. He had aged a little since the last time that I saw him, 13 years ago, but he still looked quite young.

"I'm going to have to have a serious talk with you and Jacob for making me a great grandfather" he said.

"Don't you think it's a little too late for that grandpa? Besides were engaged" I said.

"Well congratulations Nessie, I'm glad you two can finally be happy together" he said.

"Thanks grandpa, and if it makes you feel any better Leah and Seth have babies to now" I said.

"What?!" Sue screamed so loud that it made us all jump a mile in the air. EJ started crying so I took him into my arms and started rocking and soothing him.

I looked over at Sue who looked murderously angry right now. "Did you say that both of my children have babies?!"

"Yes" I responded

"I swear when I get my hands on those two I'm going to kill them. I should have never let them come here on their own. What were they thinking?!" she continued to rant for awhile and the rest of us decided it was best to just let her get it out of her system.

"So there's three babies in one house?" asked grandpa.

"Five actually" I said.

"Five?!" now grandpa was the shocked one.

"It's a really long story you're better off just seeing for yourself.

"Ever hear of birth control?" he whispered to himself, forgetting for the moment that I could hear.

I met up with the rest of the wolves after that and gave them the directions. By the time we were done it had started raining hard outsids. Poor EJ didn't have a jacket so I had to wrap him up in a blanket to the point where he resembled a burrito. After pitting him in his car seat I cranked up the heater just for him.

"Thank you mommy. I love you" he said as he dozed off on the way back. I smiled happily, how many mothers get to hear that from their newborn babies?

"You seem happy Nessie" grandpa stated.

"I am, why wouldn't I be? I have a wonderful family, a great fiancé, a beautiful son, and now I have you back grandpa. I couldn't be happier" It was all true. Even though we were dealing with Joham's threats and a huge war was about to be waged, I was happy. In that moment nothing could ruin that blissful happiness that I felt and I knew that happiness would only intensify the moment my mom would see her dad again after so many years.

My heartbeat rose dramatically when we reached the house. I was really excited for what was about to take place.

EJ began to wake up when I got him. It was so cute the way he rubbed the sleep from his eyes. I gave him a kiss on his cheek and he smiled.

"Nessie, I think that you are going to be a great mother" grandpa said.

I looked at him "You really think so grandpa?" I asked.

"Of course Nessie. I can see how much you love him and care about him. He's lucky to have you for a mother" he said.

"Thanks grandpa" I said before giving him a one armed hug.

"Dad" I heard my mom say, her voice was full of shock and disbelief. We both looked up to see my mother standing in the doorway. She was trembling with emotion.

"Dad!" she shouted before she seemed to materialize right in front of us. The way they hugged each other, it seemed like they would never let go of each other again.

Grandpa actually was crying. "Bells I'm missed you so much. Don't ever just dissappear from my life like that again. It was killing me, not knowing what happened to you" he said.

"I'm so sorry dad" she said. "How did you find me?"

"We overheard the phone call to the wolf pack last night. So we came" grandpa said. It was only then that my mom noticed Sue and Kimmie.

"Did you two get married?" mom asked.

"yes we did. You also have a sister now, this is Kimmie" grandpamsaid. He gently pushed his younger daughter towards mom.

"Nice to meet you Kimmie" mom smiled.

"Nice to meet you two" Kimmie said. She sounded shy.

"Would you all like to come in?" asked mom

"Yes" we all said at the same time.

"and Nessie, may I hold my adorable grandson?" mom asked.

"Of course you can mom" I passed over my son to her.

"Speaking of grandchildren I need to have a serious conversation with my kids because, apparently I'm now a grandmother of two babies" Sue said. She did not sound happy at all. I was actually afraid for Leah and Seth.

The rest of the evening went rather pleasently. Mom and grandpa couldn't seperate from each other. Once Sue had somewhat gotten used to the idea she actually enjoyed her two granddaughters, although Leah and Seth seemed to be avoiding their mom at all costs. I watched as Jacob played with and took care of EJ. Seeing Jacob so happy with our son made my heart soar. Jacob would do anything for him.

Rosalie was busy taking care of Calvin. She had told me earlier that she and Emmett were seriously considering adopting him.

My cousin Jessica was still transforming into a vampire with Noah and the rest of the my family at her side.

Everyone was just sort of doing their own thing. Even my two dogs seemed content to ignore all of us.

Then Carlisle suddenly reappeared after having dissappeared for several hours. "I've just gotten news that both the Denalis and Egyptians will arrive tomorrow" he said.

"Okay, so what arrangement plans have been made for them?" I asked.

"I've already booked all the hotel reservations that are necessary. The Denalis will be staying in a hotel since there vegetarians. That way we can take in more of our non vegetarian friends here. The Denalis and the wolves will keep an eye on the other vampires staying in the hotel" Carlisle explained calmly. I was still worried that someone might slip up and an innocent human will get harmed, but this is the best we can do.

"Okay it's a good plan. Who's going to help them all get settled in?" dad asked.

"We all are. They are coming straight here after they arrive and we'll take it from there" he said.

I slept peacefully that night. I woke up a few times to feed EJ but that was it. I had no problems falling back into a deep sleep after every feeding. I hadn't realized that I was so physically drained of energy.

It was the ringing of the doorbell that woke me up at 9am in the morning. I stumbled around as I struggled to regain my balance.

Carlisle opened the door and standing outside was Amun, Kebi, and Tia. The egyptians

"Amun my friend, good to see you" Carlisle said.

"It has been awhile, at least 13 years" Amun said.

"Where's Benjamin?" Carlisle asked. I hadn't missed the fact that they were missing one member of their coven.

"You summoned us to an island, a place completely surrounded by ocean. You seriously didn't think that Benjamin wouldn't take advantage of that little detail did you?" Amun said.

"Wait he's at the beach?!" Carlisle said rather loudly.

"He couldn't get off the plane fast enough to get there. It's been his dream ever since he was changed, to influence the ocean with his gift. He said something about creating abnormally large waves" Amun said.

Carlisle looked alarmed now "Go get him immediately. We don't need him to accidentally hurt anyone with his experimenting, besides we really don't want him to attract unnecessary attention" he said.

"As you wish Carlisle, but he won't be happy" Amun said before going to search for Benjamin.
