The First Time
They Cuddled
She was taking forever. Jim let his head sink deeper into the pillow, the action causing his face to stretch across the fabric. He debated calling for her again, then decided against it. He could hum the first tune to come to mind but in his current position that would require moving and his muscles were still in the painfully sweet process of relaxing.
The light in the shower room switched off and a moment later the mattress gave under her weight. Further movement halted as if she were considering the best way to get to the side she'd earlier claimed. (She preferred the window, more access to the practically nonexistent breeze.)
He smiled, perfectly content to lay as he was as she began to gracelessly crawl over him. She applied extra pressure just under his rib cage in retaliation to his obvious amusement, causing him to jerk in surprise and resulting in her tumbling over him, legs sprawled across his midsection, her head nearly hitting the window sill. He let out a bark of laughter before relaxing back into the bed and closing his eyes.
"Cabron," she murmured, twisting her body (he tried to ignore the way her rear slid across his side as she did-he'd promised no funny business after all) and swinging her legs over him to her side.
The fresh smell of her shampoo and citrus body wash hit him all at once, just as the coolness of her skin slid away from his heated body.
His left arm reached for her, hand pressed into her lower back, pulling her close so he could bury his face in her abdomen. Well, that was where he'd intended. A surprised gasp emitted from her as his face planted into her chest. He sighed deeply, knowing his feigned indifference would calm her. But that, coupled with her right inner thigh resting on his hip, his left leg slipped between hers, and the thrum of her heart so close, had him feeling far from indifferent.
A moment passed before She wrapped her arms around his head and shoulders, encircling him like a cacoon, dipping her head to rest atop the back of his. Droplets of cold water dripped from the tips of her long tendrils to soak into the fabric of the bed and the cotton of his shirt. His lips quirked when he felt a few stray down the back of his sweaty neck.
They breathed in the moment, the silence, the citrusy, salty tang of each other.
She kissed his head lightly, his short hair giving under the light pressure of her lips, then rested the side of her cheek there.
He felt her body tremble the slightest and groaned easily into her.
"You know this qualifies as cuddling." He didn't miss the amusement in her hushed voice and pressed his fingers deeper into her, wrapping his arms fully around her. Her right leg looped around his left, her stomach pushed flush against his chest.
"Sonja," he murmured into the fabric of her tank-top. "You're probably the only woman I'll ever cuddle with."
Her grip around him tightened in response. The silence settled around them once more.
"I guess," Sonja started thoughtfully, her thumb absently caressing the shell of his ear. "That means Spock is the only man you'd ever cuddle with then."
His eyes slid open slowly.
"That is, maybe he's the only Vulcan and Bones is the only man? You have to be fair, Jim, you knew Leonard first."
He lifted his head and began to roll away. The word 'woman' leaving him in a sigh. Throwing her head back in laughter, Sonja held fast and rolled with him.
Cabron- fool, stubborn
