Chapter 30: Getting Worse
Renesmee's POV
We all went back to the hotel room after that. I was secretly glad that Carlisle wanted to get rid of the Volturi once and for all already. It was about time that we got rid of the menace that is the Volturi.
Nobody said another word the whole way back. I think we were all just to stressed to say another word.
EJ was starting to look tired. I hoped that he would have no problems falling asleep. He's sick and he's been through hell and back. It wasn't good for him. He needed to sleep.
Once we got back to the hotel everyone immediately went there separate ways to their rooms.
Carlisle was the only one who stayed. He followed me back to my room. I guess I should say our room now. I was happy knowing that my grandfather was here. It gave me a sense of security and he was helping EJ a lot.
Carlisle gave EJ more medicine. Soon after that he fell asleep. He finally looked peaceful.
"Nessie, I think you should get some more sleep" Carlisle said.
"I don't need sleep. I got enough earlier" I said.
"No you didn't. You've hardly slept at all these past few days and you've been under a lot of stress. It's not good for you. You need to sleep and rest" he said.
"I'm not even sure that I could if I tried. I just feel so tense and stressed" I said.
"Then all you need is some sleep aid medicine, which I have" he said.
I looked at my grandfather in shock. "Why would you have sleeping medicine?" I asked. Why on Earth would he have medicine for sleeping? It's not like he needed it.
"It's for any non vampires that may need it" he said.
"You really do think of everything. Don't you?" I said.
He just smiled. "I try to Ness" he said.
"Well okay I'll take it. I'm just going to go take a quick shower first" I said.
"Okay Ness" he said.
I took my time in the shower. The warm water felt good against my extremely tense body. Carlisle was right, I really did need to try to relax. I was way to tense and stressed. I had a good reason to be, I'm worried about my family, the Volturi, my sick and dying baby. I felt a few tears roll down my face as I thought of my baby. He just had to live.
I turned off the water and got out slowly. I took my time getting into my pajamas. I wasn't in a hurry to go back out there.
"There you are Ness. I thought it was going to be a quick showe" he said.
"I didn't want to get out. The warm water does miracles for tense muscles" I explained.
"You still look tense. Maybe you need a massage to" he said.
"That sounds heavenly" I said.
He gave me the medicine. He then started giving me a neck massage since that is where I felt the most tense.
The soothing effects of the massage, shower, and medicine soon hit me full force. I felt myself getting sleepier and sleepier by the second.
The sound of crying is what woke me up. But I was still to sleepy to even open my eyes. My throat was hurting for some reason. It wasn't thirst, but it was sore. It was sore like if I was getting sick. I also felt warmer than usual.
I opened my eyes slowly and took in my surroundings. I was now laying in bed with blankets that wrapped around me like a burrito. I was also propped up comfortably against some pillows. I smiled, I was really lucky to have Carlisle for a grandfather.
Speaking of Carlisle, he hadn't realized that I was awake yet. He was attending to a very upset EJ.
"What's wrong with him?" Oh boy talking really hurts my throat right now.
Carlisle turned when I spoke. He looked even more worried now then he did before. "He's worse today"
"What are we going to do?" I felt like crying now.
"Keep giving him the medicine. More of the pack are coming. I've asked them to bring what I need for him and the rest of them" he said.
"What do you mean 'rest of them'?" I asked.
"Last night Sarah, Noah, and Mike came over because their babies weren't feeling so good. It seems that all four babies have caught what EJ has" he said sadly.
That was not good at all.
"Why are more pack members coming?" I asked.
"They heard Kimmie when she phased last night. They know we are in danger here" he said. "They want to help us end the Volturi"
"Are you okay Ness? Your face looks kind of red" he said.
"I'm fine" I lied. He had enough to worry about without adding me into the mix.
"Are you sure?" he asked.
"Yes, I'm sure" I said. Whatever was going on with me was probably nothing. After all I'm a hybrid and I hardly ever get sick.
"Is Jacob almost here?" I asked.
"He'll be here in a few hours" he said.
"Okay, I'll go pick him up" I said.
"Are you sure about that Ness?" he asked.
"I'm sure" I said.
As the day went by I started to feel worse. I felt much hotter than normal and my throat hurt like hell.
Carlisle kept asking if I was okay and I kept lying in response. The lies seemed to be convincing him. All I had to do was avoid touching him so he wouldn't notice the fever.
Soon it was time for me to go to the airport. I eagerly jumped off of the taxi and ran inside. I got dizzy and nearly lost my balance. Once I steadied myself I went inside.
"Jacob!" I screamed when I saw him. Much to the annoyance of the surrounding people.
"Nessie!" he screamed as soon as he spotted me. He dropped his bags and ran over to me.
"Oh god I've missed you so much Nessie!" he shouted.
"Me to Jake" I shouted.
"Are you okay Ness? You feel a lot warmer than usual" he said.
"I'm fine" I lied.
"Where's EJ?" he asked.
"At the hotel with Carlisle" I said.
"Okay Ness. Let's go" he said.
The ride was shorter back then it was to get to the airport.
When we were walking through the lobby I suddenly got a really bad cough attack. I was having a really hard time breathing.
"Jake get me to Carlisle" I said.
He didn't hesitate to pick me up and start running. I gave him the room number and floor level. He almost broke the elevator button.
Carlisle was already waiting for me. He looked extremely worried. He probably heard everything down in the lobby.
He gave me some medicine and the affects were immediate.
"I should have known something was wrong earlier" Carlisle said." I knew it. The signs were there!" he said angrily. "Why did you say you were fine when you clearly weren't?"
"You had enough to worry about" I said
"Nessie, don't ever lie to me about your health again" he said in a very serious manner.
"Okay" I said.
"Do you know what's wrong with her?" Jacob asked worriedly.
"I think she's caught EJ's lung infection to" he said
