His dark emerald eyes are filled with irritation.

He sighed deeply at how helpless his teammates are, minus Akashi.

Midorima Shintaro was sitting by the bleachers; they just finished one full routine of a mock game, since they are facing a new school this weekend.

But he can't help but get annoyed with his rainbow head "friends".

Why is that? It's because they are nothing but a group of blockheads and spoiled brats.

Yes.

Spoiled brats.

And of course, one of the factors that caused his teammates to act this way is because of the "spoiler" herself. Their beloved manager, Momoi Satsuki.

He just hates the fact that she has become more of a mother than a manager to them. Yes he knows she's an excellent manager, but to do something so foolish as to serve these kids? Pathetic.

Each and every one of them is definitely overly pampered. It's not that he wants to receive the same affection and care from her. It's not that. It's just not that.

"Momoichiiii!" The blonde's whining caught his attention, and thanks to Kise, his irritation grew more.

"Ki-chan, what's the matter?" Momoi hurried to his side.

"M-my finger's bleeding!" He cried as he held out his index finger and waved it in front of the face of their pretty manager.

He examined the overacting teen's finger and saw a droplet of blood forming. He facepalmed himself hard.

"Ohhh…Does it hurt?" Momoi asked very worried.

Midorima's annoyance doubled. If Kise is overacting and so is this woman. Tch.

Momoi went to her bag and pulled out a purse, she then covered Kise's deathly wound with a pink band-aid with yellow stars.

"Waaaah, Momoicchi you're the best!" Kise cried hugging the young girl.

"K-Ki-chan? It's nothing…" she giggled softly.

It's nothing? Of course it is nothing! There wasn't anything in there in the first place!

"Ahhh, Mukkun, your hair's still wet, let me dry it for you?"

She ran to his side holding a fresh towel and ruffled the giant's mane gently.

I don't recall having a daycare center here. His eyes narrowed in disgust.

"Sachin you're acting like a mom…"

Look who took notice of the situation.

"Ahhh, it's not a bad thing right?"

It is not bad. It is terrible, I tell you.

"Nope! Not at all!~" The purple head smiles at his mom.

"Then, all's good!"

Now that just added to my frustration. He rubbed his temples.

"Midorima-kun, are you feeling alright?" Kuroko appeared to his side.

He scowled once again and sighed. Clearly he is in a really bad mood today; he's almost hopeless that something would go right for this day.

"Yes, I am fine, Kuroko." He crossed his arms whispering curses under his breath.

The bluenette just stared at him with his round big eyes as if he was staring down at his soul. And for some reason, he didn't like it, he feels like he's being read by someone, and that's the worst thing that could happen in an awkward conversation like this.

"What?"

"Nothing, you seem to be in a bad mood that's all." He says leaving the obviously irritated Midorima by himself.

Way to go, Captain Obvious. Just then their team captain arrives at the gym.

"Ah, Akashi-kun, you're back, so what did the coach told you?"

His eyes shifted to the pink head.

"Hnn, nothing really important, he just asked me to review these papers so we can submit it to the school we'll be having a match with. Quite troublesome if you ask me."

"Oh, then let me do that for you."

"Are you sure? Aren't you working on something else already?"

"It's perfectly fine, besides, paperwork isn't the job of a team captain you know." She smiled to him.

Akashi sighed. "You're working too hard, Satsuki." He handed the folder to the manager with a smile then giving her a light pat on her head.

He rolled his eyes. You really know how to move your pawns, you egotistical emperor. He stood up from the bleachers and headed to the locker rooms to change, he can't take more any of these acts of foolishness, as he sees it.

After changing he quickened his pace and literally rushed to the door but unfortunately his other teammates just caught his act.

"Ahhh~ Midorimacchi, where are you going!?" Kise jogged in clinging his arm to the green head's own.

"I am obviously going home, Kise."

"So soon? Why don't you wait for then, we could eat ice cream on the way home with Sa-chin~" Murasakibara followed opening his locker and grabbing a cracker stick.

"No thank you, I have to go home immediately." He shook Kise's arm off. I might get infected with your bratiness.

"Midorima's being a loser…" Aomine deadpanned as he threw his sweaty shirt off. "Oi, Daiki your shirt, pick it up." Their captain instructed making the dark boy roll his eyes.

"Shut up Aomine."

"What's wrong with you today? Are you on your period?" He snickered. Midorima released a piercing glare towards the boy but he seems to have immunity with icy glares.

"Pffft." Kise suppressed his laughter.
"Aka-chin, what's a period?"

"It's a punctuation mark, Atsushi." Akashi shook his head trying to keep the innocence of the giant boy.

"Of course it is~"

"Pffft gahahahaha, I just can't take it." Kise punched himself to keep his senses.

"You little…"

"Oi, oi I was just joking, loosen up a bit."

Midorima sighed.

"Does this mean we can now have ice cream?"

"Tch." He again comically pushed his glasses up to his bridge as a sign of defeat; nothing could go wrong with just one stick of popsicle, right? After all he is quite craving for the sweet treat itself now it has been brought up. Just one stick, and leave them alone let them spoil themselves rotten.

"Do go on without me, I can't accompany you today with your trip to the convenience store. See you tomorrow." Akashi remarked leaving the boys inside the locker room silent.

"Please hurry up, Momoi-san's waiting at the gate." Kuroko suddenly appeared.

"Gaaah, dammit Tetsu, can you just tell us things, ughh…. Normally."

"I think that's what I'm always doing."

Upon reaching the gates, the peach head is already there talking to some girl companions. "Momoicchi!~" Kise waved both his arms enthusiastically. "Sachin!~" Murasakibara mimicked the blonde in which they both gathered attention. "Satsuki, oi!" Aomine followed gathering more and more notices from the idle students scattered.

Midorima distanced himself a few feet from the boys. I am not with these idiots.

"Araaa. You took long enough!" Momoi finally noticed. She bid goodbye to the girls she was talking with and ran towards his boys.

"So, where are we gonna stop by today?"

"Sachin, let's go get some ice cream~"

"Hmmm…that sounds nice!"

And so the rainbow head kids strolled their way towards the nearest convenience store. Random idle chats and jokes were shared by the group but of course Midorima kept his default distance away from the others just in case something embarrassing would happen. Halfway towards their destination, Aomine suddenly stopped and began cursing the world and himself.

"Aomine-kun, what's wrong?" Momoi asked.

"Dammit, I forgot my English book at the classroom! We have a test tomorrow right!?" He facepalmed himself.

"Aominecchi, actually studies? Wow this is new." Kise sneered.

"I am very proud of you Aomine-kun." Kuroko patted his back.

"Oi, oi, just because I'm always slacking off doesn't mean…I'm actually slacking off."

"That one time you tried to be studious and you forgot your book, tsk tsk." Momoi shook her head pulling out her own book out of her bag and handing it to Aomine. "Here, use this."

"Eh? How about you?"

"Nah, I already studied way before, I'll be alright!" She beamed at her.

Aomine was almost at tears once he took a hold of the book. "I'll treat you sundae for this!" He grinned as he ran towards the convenience store.

Arriving, Murasakibara quickly took notice of the newly opened arcade beside it. "Waaaah~ Look, games." He shook Aomine. "Uwah! Look Tetsu! Hoops! Let's go play right now!" Aomine excitedly pulled Kuroko. "Satsuki, care to look out for our bags?"

"Ehh? Uhh sure!"

"Let's go Kise! Tetsu!" "Minechin, wait for me!""Aominecchi you're too excited!"

Momoi sighed. "Well, there goes my cherry sundae." She then noticed Midorima beside her. "Eh, Midorin, you aren't playing?"She asked trying to get a hold of the bags.

"No. I don't prefer rowdy places such as arcades." He answered stiff.

"You could have said 'No' when he asked you to look out for their bags." He added.

"Ehhh? Oh…" She laughed lightly. "Hmm…it's no big deal, I can just come back here anytime. Besides, as if I can oppose his energy."

That's exactly what's wrong with you, woman. Midorima offered to bring half of the bags to which Momoi politely accepted bidding him a 'thanks Midorin'.

"You know you're babying them too much." He finally let out his worries and frustration summarized in a sentence.

"Huh? What do you mean…"

Midorima sighed. "You're doing almost everything for them." He looked directly at her rose colored eyes.

"Oh…" She laughed. "Well, I am your manager, after all. " She furrowed her brows trying to seek Midorima's point.

Of course that what you'll say.

"Do you think…I'm overdoing it?" She gently leaned back to the glass wall of the convenience store.

"Yes."

She just smiled at him. Suddenly he felt defeated without even trying to bring out his defense.

"I think…I'm just the type who would want to take care of somebody than to be taken care of."

"Hmm." Somebody has to take care of you in a way.

"What was that?"

Shit did I just say that out loud?! He cleared his throat to cover up for that out of character line he just said.

"What I said is that, they're grown men already, they're never going to learn it themselves if you keep on spoiling them." He looked away.

"I never would have guessed you see it as 'spoiling', Midorin." She giggled. "Ahhh. I'm hungry, would you like to buy something from the store? They might take a while anyway." She offered.

"If I must." He replied dragging all the bags he has. Midorima browsed through the aisles and found himself standing near his manager, both of them seemed to have taken a shine with something from the same aisle. He saw a red bean filled doughnut and immediately acted upon his instincts but as soon as his tapered fingers could move Momoi already grabbed the last piece. "This looks good." She smiled to him.

Once again he felt defeated, from that smile of hers and from losing that sole piece of delectable pastry. He proceeded to the next aisle and just grabbed a regular melon pan and proceeded to the cashier. As soon as he paid he went out with Momoi to wait for the others by the arcade again.

"Here." She handed him the sweet.

His brows met. "Take it, Midorin."

"What for, I already have this." He waved the bread in front of her face. "Well, call it a trade!" She quickly took the bread from him and tossed the doughnut. "I knew you were gonna get that." She gently opened the sealed melon pan. "So, is that a reason why you actually raced with me in buying it?" He irked.

"Well, a little." She laughed. "I'm sorry, hmmm, take it as me trying to spoil you." She added before taking her first bite.

What? He clearly missed her point and logic of her actions. But then he can't help but feel a little bit elated. Just a little bit. He smiled to himself, just to himself, he actually have to look to the opposite direction jus to do it, before taking a bite of that sweet, sweet doughnut.

Or is it the doughnut's that sweet?

"Midorin." She called out. He looked at her and then suddenly felt a warm texture brush against the corners of his lips.

"You've got red bean near your mouth. Hold…still." She focused on his face, suddenly taking notice of the situation he literally jumped back away from the girl covering his mouth with his hand. "T-that's unneeded!" He demanded bashfully. He felt his ears hot and his grip with his doughnut stiffened, flatting the poor pastry.

"Oh, I..I'm sorry… uhm… here…wipe it yourself." Momoi handed her pink handkerchief to the boy.

Midorima sighed and went back to where he was standing awhile ago, taking the cloth from her hands, he gently damped it across his mouth. "I-I'll wash it and return it tomorrow." He held the fabric tighter before putting it in his school bag pocket.

"You don't have to, Midor—"

"I said I'll wash it." He answered back sternly.

"Oh…okay…?" She found herself silenced. After a few minutes of awkward silence, she finally got herself to talk again. "You're not really used to in being taken care of, aren't you?"

Is this what's all those things about? The doughnut? The handkerchief? He sighed upon realizing it just now. But looking back, that particular feeling of bliss he felt just a while ago, that's how it felt to be spoiled? Though compared to his teammates it is just a simple act of kindness he received, unlike those bastards who treated the poor manager like a nanny. But still he took note of it and appreciated it.

"No, I was raised to be independent. Besides, having a younger sibling requires me to stand up to my own." He crossed his arms.

"Waaah, you have a younger sibling? A sister or a brother?" Her eyes sparkled.

"A sister."

"So cute! Now I see why. Though being spoiled once in a while wouldn't hurt." She mimicked him; crossing her arms across her chest.

"I could say the same to you." He held his bag in front of his chest and began rummaging through his stuff. "Here, study." He handed out his English book to Momoi.

"Eh? But I…I already studied." She refused. "Don't be ridiculous. We just got out books today since they were collected the other day."

"Oh…" She laughed lightly. "Are you sure? Wouldn't you be the one getting in trouble?" She raised her eyebrow.

"No, I'm perfectly confident, besides, I still have Oha-Asa tomorrow to guide me with my exam's fate." He pushed his glasses up.

"Of course you do." She smiled at him. "Thank you, Midorin!"

And for the third time of today, he felt himself tensed up and flushed. I must lessen my interaction with this woman.

The next day.

"Onii-san! Onii-san! It's Oha-Asa already!" The little girl called her brother who was just making breakfast. He hurriedly took off his apron and proceeded to the living room with her sister.

"Today's sign with the worst sign; Cancers!"

He felt his heart froze. "Today's not your best day, stay away from thinking too much, you'll have a lot of mental blocks through it!" He felt as if he was punched in the stomach.

"Onii-san?" The little girl patted his brother gently.

"As for your lucky item today, to drive away all those misfortune…"

He quickly got u p to his feet and moved closer to the television as if he were to go inside it. I still have my luck.

"An English Literature book!"

His eyes widened in horror.

"Onii-san…?"

"I'm heading out early! Tell mom breakfast's ready!" He quickly put on his coat and shoes; he grabbed the neatly folded handkerchief sitting by the coffee table and rushed out his household.

I just had to spoil that woman by lending my book!
