CHAPTER THIRTEEN:

Kankuro was in the jeweler's shop, looking at the various rings that were available for sale. He was busy looking when he heard the shop's owner say, "Lord Kankuro, can I help you?"

He looked up and said, "Yes. Um...the kazekage is getting married."

The owner gasped in surprise, "My goodness, congratulations!"

"I will let him know. He is wanting to get the rings, however, there is a difficulty."

"How can I help?"

"Misaki, his future wife, likes sterling silver. He likes gold." Kankuro explained.

"Hmm...I see the problem."

"I was thinking that he could have a gold ring with silver in it and she could have a silver ring with gold in it."

"I could make the rings." The owner took out a piece of paper and drew a ring with lines on the outside of it.

"Those would be beautiful. When would they be done?" He questioned.

"I can finish them next week."

"The kazekage said to put it on his tab."

"I'll give him an invoice next week."

"Thank you." Kankuro then left the shop.

Temari and Misaki were in a bridal shop as they looked at the several dresses that were available. "There are so many dresses." Misaki commented.

Temari laughed slightly, "I know Misaki. We'll find the right one though."

The shop owner walked up to the two and said, "Lady Temari, it is good to see you. Are you finally getting married?"

"No. Lord Kazekage is marrying Misaki."

"Oh my goodness! He's getting married?! Congratulations! And congratulations to you Misaki!"

"Thank you. We are going to get married in six months." Misaki replied.

"That is not long. I can show you two my best dresses."

"Thank you. I appreciate it so much."

They followed her to an area where a couch and a few mirrors sat. "Please sit down ladies."

"Thanks." Temari thanked the owner then sat down with Misaki on the couch.

As the two sat talking about the future wedding, the owner collected a few beautiful dresses and came out to present them to the women. "These three dresses are some of my most beautiful dresses that I have." She announced.

Misaki eyed the three dresses and carefully looked them up and down. All of the dresses were beautiful and had a hint of blue in them. She looked at the one in the center, which looked more like a white kimono with a dark blue obi belt wrapped around the waist. "I think I like the center one the best." Misaki told the shop owner.

"Are you sure you don't want a sleeveless dress?" Temari asked her.

"I'm sure." She responded, feeling slightly embarassed about the scratches which were on her arms.

"Okay."

"Why don't you try it on then?"

Misaki nodded at the owner then followed her to a changing room. Temari waited for a few minutes while the owner helped her friend change into the dress that she had chosen. After a few minutes, the two came back out and Temari looked at Misaki who was now in the dress. "It's so beautiful on you. This is definitely the dress you should choose Misaki." Temari said to her.

The black-haired woman nodded, "I think so." She turned to the shop owner and said, "This is the dress."

"Let's go ahead and get it off and I will pack it up." The shop owner replied.

"Please put it on the kazekage's tab." Temari said to her.

"Yes Lady Temari."

Kankuro came back to his brother's office and sat in front of his desk. "How was the jeweler's?" Gaara asked his brother.

"Fine. He says that the rings will be done by next week." Kankuro replied.

"Good."

"I hope you like the rings. The jeweler is making them." The puppeteer explained.

"I'm sure Misaki and I will." Gaara said then paused and told his brother, "I want you to keep the rings after you show me them."

"Huh?"

"Yes. I don't want Misaki to see them."

"Oh. I'll make sure to hide them in my dresser. She won't find them." Kankuro replied with a wink.

The red-head laughed softly, "I know. I have faith in you Kankuro."

"Well I will go and get something to eat. I hear Misaki and Temari are out."

"Yes they are. I don't know where though."

"They'll be hiding things from us i'm sure."

Gaara laughed again. "I'm very sure. See you later Kankuro."

"Bye Gaara." Kankuro then stood up and left his brother's office then shut the door behind him.

Misaki and Temari were in Temari's room looking at the wedding dress that they had just purchased. "Temari, can you keep my dress in your closet?"

"Yes, of course I can. Why?"

"I don't want Gaara to see it."

Temari smiled at her friend, "Definitely. Gaara can wait till the wedding day to see it."

Misaki laughed, "I want to surprise him."

"Oh he'll be surprised." The blonde laughed.

"We've got so much to do."

"I know, but Kankuro and I will help." Temari responded.

"I want Gaara to be excited." Misaki told the blonde.

Temari laughed softly, "We're talking about Gaara right?"

Misaki giggled, "Yeah I know. Mr. I Don't Laugh in Public."

She laughed again, "You know it."

Temari and Misaki heard a knock on the door and it opened revealing Kankuro. "Hey ladies."

"Hi Kankuro." Misaki greeted.

"Did you get your dress Misaki?" He asked the future bride.

"Yes, but you can't tell Gaara what it looks like." She warned him.

His jaw dropped and he said, "What? Me? I never."

Temari laughed at her brother, "Here." She showed the dress to him and waited for him to say something.

"Very beautiful. I know Gaara will love it."

"Well we're keeping it here in Temari's room. By the way Kankuro, I have a favor to ask you." Misaki said as she smiled at him.

"Oh?"

"Yes. Will you walk me down the aisle? Both of my parents are dead, so..."

Kankuro smiled at his best friend and future sister-in-law, "Baby you know it."

She hugged him tightly, feeling him hug her back, "Thanks so much."

"You're welcome." He replied.

"Well, I better get to the suite to make dinner. See you two soon."

"Bye Misaki!" The two siblings said at the same time and waved her off.

Gaara entered the Kazekage's suite from the tunnel from his office. He smelled dinner cooking and heard plates clinking on the table. As he walked into the kitchen, he smiled at his future wife. "Hello Misaki."

She turned towards him and sat some tea on the table, "Hello Gaara. How was work?"

"The same. I see you are busy. What did you do today?"

"I got my dress, but you're not allowed to see it. Not until we get married."

He looked at her in fake shock, "Well, I guess I won't show you our rings."

Misaki laughed softly, "I suppose I will be disappointed then."

Gaara sat down in one of the chairs at the table and waited for her to sit down next to him. It took her about 10 seconds to sit next to him and dish out their dinner. He smiled as she poured his tea and asked, "How was your day Gaara?"

"Normal. I missed you."

Misaki smiled as she dug into her rice then told him, "I missed you as well. I asked Kankuro to escort me down the aisle when we get married. Unfortunately, you and I both know that both of my parents are dead."

"Yes. As are mine."

"We're a pair, you and I."

He laughed softly then kissed her forehead after wiping his mouth. "Yes we are Misaki." Gaara then took her hand and murmured, "Tonight I would like to sleep."

"Are you okay?"

"Yes. It was a tiring day."

She kissed him on the cheek then replied, "That's fine with me. Now finish your dinner Kazekage."

He laughed softly then told her, "I love you Misaki."

"I love you too Gaara." She replied then kissed him again.

Author's Note: So I finally updated. Sorry it took so long. I've been busy with a lot of things. I didn't add sex to this chapter because the next chapter will be the wedding chapter. There will be plenty of sex then. ^_^ Review if you like.
