CHAPTER EIGHTEEN:

Four Days Later

Misaki held the twins against her chest as they fed. They were very easy to feed, woke her up at odd times during the night. Right now it was early in the morning. Gaara was in his office, but left his office early to see her and the babies. He didn't care what anyone said. She rocked the two babies in a rocking chair that they had got before they were born.

She heard a light knock at the door and Temari's voice, "Can I come in?"

"Yeah, i'm just feeding the babies."

Temari opened the door then closed it and walked to the second rocking chair and sat next to her. "How are you doing?"

"I'm feeling better. Not as tired." Misaki replied.

"That's good to hear. Are the babies giving you any trouble?"

"They wake me up in the middle of the night, but that's alright. I'm getting used to it."

Temari laughed softly, "I bet they will be doing that for a while."

Misaki smiled and looked at Temari, "Yeah. That's true." She looked down and found the two nestling against her chest. "You want to take your nephew?"

"Sure." The blonde replied then took the boy in her arms and giggled as she looked at his onesie. "I love his onesie."

Minoru wore a blue onesie saying 'World's Best Aunt' while his sister wore a pink onesie saying 'World's Best Uncle.' "They are cute. I know Kankuro will like it." She pulled her straps up over her chest and shoulders and held Mizuki to her chest as the baby girl slept silently.

"He is going to be a great uncle and you a great aunt. I can tell that he loves them so much."

Temari giggled softly, "He is going to spoil them so bad."

"That's a definite." Misaki giggled as well. She stood up and slowly walked to Mizuki's crib and put the sleeping infant in her crib, then took Minoru from her aunt and put him in his crib. "Come," she murmured softly, then led Temari out the the room, opening and closing the door lightly.

They were surprised to find Kankuro outside, sitting on the couch. "Hello Kankuro. What are you doing here?"

"Well I wanted to see the babies." Kankuro replied.

"They're asleep." Temari told him.

"You can go in and see them, just be quiet." Misaki said to him.

"Okay. I'll be quick."

The two women waited for about a minute before Kankuro came out and closed the door softly. He smiled as he looked at the two. "They are so cute. I am sure the council is happy."

"Yes. We already showed them the babies. They're excited." Misaki said softly.

"Well the council is happy, they should be for a while." Temari added.

"While we're on the subject of the babies...Gaara and I decided that we wanted you two to be the godmother and godfather."

"Huh?!" Kankuro questioned loudly.

"Shhh..." Temari shushed him quietly.

"Why?" The male puppet nin asked.

"Neither Gaara or I have any close friends besides you two and Naruto. We plan to make Naruto godfather for our next one, after he gets married." Misaki explained. "It's not like we don't have friends, it's just that they're not as close as you two and Naruto."

"You plan to have more?"

Misaki giggled softly, "In a few years Kankuro. Until then I will take pills for when we have sex."

"Well we're honored Misaki. Thank you." The blonde female replied.

"Definitely. I'm not only a uncle, but a godfather. Cool."

The two women laughed softly. "I'm glad you both are excited."

"How do you feel being a mother?"

"It's nice. Tiring, but nice. They're so sweet. They haven't cried much unless they're hungry." Misaki replied.

She yawned as Temari questioned, "Do you get a lot of sleep?"

"Like I told you, the babies wake up at odd times of the night. So I haven't got much sleep."

"Maybe we can help." Kankuro intervened.

"Maybe."

"Oh come on Misaki. You need your sleep."

"I know. It's just hard with being a new mother."

"Well, we're here to help Misaki." Temari said as Misaki nodded.

"Why don't you lay on the couch for a while and we'll wake you up when the babies get up?" Kankuro suggested.

"Okay." She responded then watched as Temari moved and she laid on the couch, slowly falling back to sleep as the other two watched her and kept an ear out for the babies.

Misaki woke up later and found Gaara holding Mizuki in his arms while Temari held Minoru. Kankuro looked at the two babies with a wide smile on his face. She yawned then asked, "Why didn't you wake me up?"

"You deserved some sleep. Besides, they weren't hungry yet." Gaara answered.

"How long did they sleep?"

"About an hour and a half." Temari replied. "They were really good when we got them out of their cribs."

Misaki looked at Gaara who held Mizuki against his chest. She giggled to herself. "What?" Gaara questioned.

"She is going to be a Daddy's girl. You're already spoiling her." She responded.

Temari and Kankuro laughed at her statement, "Isn't that true?" Kankuro asked.

Gaara smiled at Misaki, "I have heard that girls are supposed to be spoiled by their fathers and boys by their mothers."

"Well that is true. My mother never spoiled me." The black-haired woman responded.

The babies started to cry, interrupting the four. "I think that is a sign meaning the babies are ready to eat." Kankuro said as he smiled at Misaki.

Temari turned to him saying, "No duh!"

Misaki laughed at the two, "Well let me take the babies into the bedroom."

"We'll go. We know you need your privacy. We'll see you soon." Temari gently gave Minoru to his mother then walked to Kankuro and pulled him with her.

Two Weeks Later

Naruto laughed cheerfuly as he looked at the two babies who were quietly sleeping in their mother's arms. She rocked slowly while looking at the blonde hokage and Gaara's best friend. "I can't believe it. They look exactly like you Gaara."

Gaara smiled. "Yes, the council is happy. Of course I wouldn't have given a damn if they hadn't."

"I bet Temari and Kankuro love been aunt and uncle."

"Kankuro more than Temari. He already is planning what he wants to do with them when they get older."

Naruto laughed again, "I'm glad everything went well."

"Well don't worry Naruto. When are you and Hinata getting married?" Misaki intervened.

"Uh...we aren't sure yet...but soon." Naruto replied.

Misaki and Gaara laughed softly, trying not to disturb their babies, "Good. Make sure to send us an invitation." Gaara told the blonde-haired hokage.

"We will. I brought some presents." He replied, changing the subject.

"We'll open them later. Go get some rest. I'm sure the journey was long Naruto. We'll have supper later tonight." Misaki told him.

"Thank you. I will rest for a while. Thanks for letting me see them."

"We wouldn't ban you." Gaara told his best friend as he escorted his best friend out and walked him to his room.

Misaki laughed softly then looked down at the babies. They hadn't woken up...thank goodness. It had been hard enough to get them to sleep. She smiled down at the two and rocked lightly, thinking of how much she loved her family.

Author's Note: I'm sorry it's been so long since I've updated. I have had a bad month with a sinus infection and my dad being sick. It's just been bad for me. I know this chapter is short. Forgive me. Hope you enjoy it and review if you like.
