"Woah! Woah! Steady there! Someone's in a hurry!"
Magnus looked up. The first thing he saw were the orbs. Those blue orbs which completely ensnared him. But he was inside... Wasn't he?
"A-Alec? I thought you were inside! What just happened?" Magnus stammered.
Something flickered in those eyes. "Well, I guess you underestimated Shadowhunter speed!" He winked.
"Alec. We fought in there. We both said terrible things. Awful, hurtful things. And now you're flirting with me?!"
The eyes turned into cobalt. "Of course I'm not! As I would forget what you said... I came to tell you that- that I love you."
Magnus sighed and turned away- but not before the boy caught a glimpse of the tears in his eyes. He felt a hand on his shoulder.
"Magnus. Magnus look at me! Look at me and tell me you still don't love me! Look at me and tell me that our love, our true love was nothing to you!"
Magnus looked him in the eyes and started to speak. "I do not- I do not love you, Alexander Gideon Lightwood. There! I said it!"
Magnus turned and walked away, his back straight and his arms swinging casually, but inside, his heart was breaking into a thousand pieces. He whispered to himself, so quietly that not even the flies buzzing near his face could hear- "Aku cinta kamu- selalu."
However, Magnus was too far away to make out the shape when he heard the laugh. It was a girl's laugh. He turned back, expecting to see a shadow of Alec sobbing. But Alec had gone. And just as Magnus turned away, he thought he caught a glimpse of long, brown hair.
Alec's POV
"You idiot! Why Alec?! Why would you say that?"
"Isabelle, get out of my room. Now!"
"No! Not until you tell me what is going on! I thought you still loved him!"
Alec got up and shoved Izzy out of the room. "And tell Mum and Dad I'm not hungry."
He threw himself into the bed. Why would he say that? Why would Magnus say that? Alec was in a fit of tears when he heard it.
He looked up and cocked his head to one side. It sounded like- wait, there it was again! It sounded like a laugh. Alec took his seraph blade out of his weapons belt and got up. Slowly, he walked towards the closet. All seemed quiet and he could not even hear Isabelle and Mum yelling at each other. He tiptoed closer, his seraph blade at the ready. Then he heard the scratching. It was definitely coming from the closet.
Alec yanked it open- and out tumbled Church.
"Church!" Alec exclaimed with a mixture of love and annoyance. "I was so scared!" Alec hugged the cat- and felt its fur spike. It started to squirm in his arms, as if it would die if it didn't get out. Church loved Alec, he never acted like this around him! Alec dropped Church- just as the butt end of a sword hit his head and he fell to the ground.
"You have his eyes, you know. Too bad," were the last words he heard before he blacked out.
Magnus POV
That walk home was hell. Magnus regretted those words so much and wished that he could turn and run back into Alec's arms. But he knew that after something like that, there was no going back.
The walk home was such a blur that he didn't even notice the frozen tears until he got home. Realising that there was no point wasting his time moping, Magnus switched on his computer. It didn't help that the screen saver was a picture of him.
If the Shadownhunters did not want him in their building, then fine, he could figure everything out on his own.
But he had nothing to go on. His mother was dead. His relatives were all probably dead. Then Magnus realised- he had never considered this before. Why would his father choose his mother? From what he could remember, she was a normal woman, a bit on the chubby side. Where could they have met? Where would they have gone? Would it have been a one night stand? Or was it something more? Was it love?
And that made the decision for him. He needed to find out what his Father was, maybe not for the same reasons as before but now he was desperate. What did he have to go on at the moment?
a) His Father was powerful- a prince of hell.
b) He had to be angelic or an important fallen angel (the witchlight)
c) The eyes
Rumour had it that the warlocks mark showed something about the father. But what? Sure, they were cat eyes but his father wasn't a cat! Magnus' eyes shifted to Chairman Meow who was purring contently. As if sensing the glance, the cat looked up and Magnus was sure that he caught a glimpse of amusement in those eyes.
So it was the eyes. It was something to do with the eyes. But what kind of Demon had cat eyes, or was a cat!?
It was a couple of hours later when Magnus got the call. He had fallen asleep on top of his laptop. He opened his eyes just in time to see his 5th missed call from Izzy go to voicemail. He could feel it. Something had happened. To Alec. Magnus' fingers were so sweaty that he almost dropped his phone and he knew that when he spoke his voice was shaking.
"Izzy. Tell me. What's wrong?" Even as he said this, he was shoving on clothes, without the usual care for makeup or whether anything matched. This was serious. It was Alec.
"Oh Magnus. It's Alec. We can't find him anywhere!"
Magnus collapsed onto the bed. "Is that it, Izzy?"
"IS THAT IT? MY BROTHER IS MISSING, MAGNUS BANE! MISSING!"
"Izzy calm down. After what happened today, it makes sense. He's probably drunk somewhere."
"Magnus what is up with you? Alec could be dead for all we know!"
"Isabelle. I know I provoked him today. But still. I know I was cruel but so was he. And his words hurt! I don't to forgive him. Call me tomorrow if you still haven't found him."
Magnus screamed into the gag. He yelled like he never had before but there was nothing he could do. That voice. It was his. That person was him. A clone. And there was only one person who could make clones.
"Muh-Th-thres-"
"What was that Magnus? You want me to remove that gag? Oh don't worry. I will."
She grabbed the gag and yanked it off.
"Say it. Say it. You know what I want. Say it!" She screamed like a woman demented in his ear.
"Tessa. Tessa Gray."
She looked at him and laughed. Her laugh was nothing like it used to be, nothing like it was when William was alive. She had changed.
She laughed and laughed, as if that was all she could do till she broke. She laughed until there was no more laughter.
Yep I just did that. Sorry everyone, you probably hate me! But review etc! :) And I promise I'll update soon! :)
