Thanks for all the reviews guys! You guys are actually my life, love you! :) And to Firework D and ilovemalec123, I am gonna update as much as possible now, but school starts on Tuesday so I'll try for once a week after that! :) By the way, there is a bit of squeamishness in this chapter so if you don't like blood then beware and yeah.

Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters!

"T-tessa! God! Tessa! Stop! Please! Why are you doing this?!"

Tessa ignored him. She carried on. All Magnus could hear were the screams- so full of pain and terror. Magnus didn't know what the person had done to deserve this... if it was a person. The screams were unrecognisable, twisted beyond recognition. But whatever it was it was suffering.

"Tessa! Please! Stop that! You can hurt me instead, just leave that... thing alone!"

The screams stopped.

Magnus heard footsteps getting louder. The darkness was full of possibilities- it was a darkness so black that even Magnus' cat eyes could make nothing of it.

"Oh Magnus." He didn't know where the voice was coming from. "Always so honourable. You don't mind then? You don't mind me hurting you?" Her voice seemed to dance around him, mocking.

"No, Theresa. Stop whatever you are doing! What happened to you?"

He felt her stop moving. She came closer and hissed in his ear, "Nothing."

Her footsteps started to recede, as she started to walk away. "Magnus Bane. The High Warlock of Brooklyn. You won't be for much longer," she hissed into the darkness and walked away.

Magnus was shocked. What had happened to Tessa? He remembered when he had first met her, a young girl with a serious face and brown hair. He remembered how she had cared for that worm she called a brother; how even after all he had done, she had forgiven him. God, he remembered her and William, whole only when they were together. What went wrong? What changed her?

…...

He heard the footsteps before he heard the voice. The pitch black didn't help his fear either. And that was it. He was scared. He was scared of that creature; the thing that was merciless. It had tortured him for what seemed like hours. And it wasn't just physical torture, it was emotional too. And Alec didn't want to admit it, but he needed Magnus. How he longed for those tanned arms, that spicy cinnamon scent. How he missed those eyes, which could hold so many emotions at once. It hurt Alec. Why would he want to get rid of a life as beautiful as Magnus'?

"Lost in memories, are we? Do you want a shock back into the present? A nice little... conversation?"

The fear returned, but quadrupled. Alec could feel the panic building up inside him, looking for a way out. He tried to force it down- but a small gasp managed to escape. Alec instantly regretted it.

"Oh, scared? Don't worry, it won't be as bad as before."

"Alec? Alec, where are you?"

Alec felt hope surge in him like a tidal wave. It was Izzy! She had found him! Against all odds, she had found him and was going to rescue him! But then he realised. This creature could do to her what it was doing to him. Alec couldn't let that happen.

"Izzy go! It's dangerous! Leave me!"

"Alec? Alec? Is that you?" She was getting closer.

"Izzy, stay away!"

"Alec! It's you!" The footsteps were getting louder and faster- more frantic. "Alec, where are you? What is this place?"

"Isabelle! Please! Go!" Alec couldn't deny the rush of excitement he felt when he realised that he was going to be rescued- but then he immediately felt guilty. He was selfish. That was how he lost Magnus- he wasn't about to lose Izzy too.

"Alec!" She was here. She was in the room. He felt her slowly walk towards him. Then suddenly witchlight flared and he saw her face.

It was mauled. Claws had raked across it, slicing through one eye. Her cheeks were dripping with blood and he could already see the flesh going green. Her arm was shredded, skin barely holding together. Still she came closer.

"Alec. I've come to free you."

Alec recoiled. This could not be his sister! Whatever had done this to her was going to pay! And where was Jace in all of this? He would be with her, wouldn't he?

As if answering his thoughts, he heard Jace's voice. "Izzy? Where are you? Have you found him? Come back, its not worth it! He's not here!"

Alec screamed into the gag! Of course he was here! And Isabelle had seen him! She wouldn't leave now, would she? And he had weapons! If she untied him, he could kill that insane thing which had been torturing him!

Alec looked back at Isabelle, but she was gone. He twisted in his chair, all the possibilities rising up at once. If that thing got to her, he would never forgive himself. Then he heard her scream. She screamed like never before, not even when she had broken her arm as a child. Her scream was full of pain and terror and Alec had to stop it! It went on for what seemed like an eternity.

Then suddenly it stopped. Footsteps came closer.

A witchlight flared. If it was even possible, Isabelle's face looked even more disfigured. The one eye was streaming blood while the other... Alec couldn't make himself look at it. But he knew he had to. The eye socket was empty, the eyeball was gone.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER? YOU EVIL, SCHEMING, MURDERER WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY SISTER!?" Alec felt adrenaline surge through him. He was going to kill this thing!

"You have never felt pain Alec Lightwood. You have never felt pain like I have. Have you watched the love of your life die before your eyes? Have you felt the terror, the feeling of incompetence, not being able to do anything? Because now I will show you!"

The woman beside Izzy looked deranged, her long brown hair matted with blood and falling crazily over her shoulders. There was blood smeared on her face, around her mouth. And in her hand she was holding... an eye.

"Why? Why are you doing this? Please stop! I'll take her place! Kill me, torture me, do anything just leave Izzy alone! I swear to you, I will do anything- anything at all." Alec was shouting, tears falling involuntarily from his eyes. He knew he was begging, he knew that Shadowhunters should never bend to the whims of Downworlders (if that was she was) but he didn't care. He couldn't lose his sister. He couldn't lose the one person who had stood by him through everything.

She laughed manically. "Maybe I enjoy this? Maybe I enjoy the look of fear on your eyes, your utter helplessness. Your sister is going to die!" She sung it this time. "Your sister is going to die and there is nothing you can do about it!"

Alec felt desperation like never before. Izzy couldn't die, there was no way she could die.

Izzy screamed. She screamed and screamed and Alec lost all control.

"I will do anything, please!" He struggled so hard against the bindings that he felt something inside him snap. But the binding never loosened and Alec had to hear Izzy scream. "Help me! Help her! Help!" Alec yelled. "Anyone?"

Izzy screamed but Alec could hear her getting weaker. He felt something hit his hand. He looked down. It was blood. He couldn't take this anymore. "Someone please! Raziel, please help her! Take my life but help her! I will do anything."

And just like that, the screaming stopped. Alec felt relief wash over him.

"Do you like that, huh? The feeling of pain, of desperation." The witchlight flared once more- and Izzy was gone.

In her place stood the woman- but there was no blood, no eye in her hand. Her hair was long and shiny, falling down her back perfectly. Alec gasped. He looked down, looking for a trace of blood, of anything. The only blood he felt was from himself- he must have broken something when he was struggling.

And like that a light went off in his head. It was an illusion. Izzy wasn't here, no one was. Other than that woman. It was another conversation.

"Why are you torturing me? Why?" The relief Alec had felt when he realised that Izzy was okay, was overcome by exhaustion. After hours of torture, Alec was exhausted. Every single time. Every single time he believed her, thought that someone he loved was being hurt.

"Because. Because. Because," she sang, and walked away.

Alec couldn't take it anymore. He had gone through so much pain in the last few hours, pain that he never expected to feel. So many emotions. What scared Alec was the hate, the hate he felt for that woman. What had he ever done to deserve this. He immediately regretted this thought. He had tried to kill Magnus! Maybe this was God's way of punishing him? Alec swore that the next time he saw Magnus he would beg for forgiveness. He needed him back.

…...

Magnus heard the scream again. But this time it was worse. It was familiar. With a jolt, Magnus realised that it was Izzy. And then he heard the voice. It was Alec.

Sorry for the violence guys! Hope you liked it! As you can probably see, I was quite tired when I wrote this, but the next chapter will be better... and there will be MALEC! ;) Please review! :)
