Here's the next chapter! Sorry for not updating sooner! Thanks SO much for all the reviews and stuff everyone :) Enjoy!

Magnus squirmed against his bonds, using all his strength to try and break free. He knew magic wouldn't work; Tessa had bound his powers, but he was still Magnus Bane. He was still the great warlock. And he needed to get to Alec.

He needed to get to Alec before this crazy, new Tessa hurt him. Who knew what she would do? She was deranged. He knew that technically he was her best friend- they had gone through so much together. And he was always there for her- when Jem became a Silent Brother, when Will died... But Alec was his priority now. Tessa could wait.

Magnus pulled with all his strength until he felt something give way. It wasn't big; it couldn't even be considered small and only his sensitive Warlock fingers felt it- but it was there. Something fell to the ground. The darkness was smothering him, choking him, as he slowly lowered his fingers towards the ground. The bonds were tight but somehow he managed to touch the ground.

Cursing, Magnus felt across the ground. It was hard. He was virtually blind in this darkness. Now he understood what mundanes felt like half the time. Suddenly, his fingers found the object- but his fingers literally found it. The splinter of wood had pierced his finger.

Magnus winced in pain and swore. That was the first mistake.

"Well, well, High Warlock, I must say, I am really enjoying the show. Did you enjoy the... sounds?" Tessa was back.

"Yes, they were music to my ears, you know. Especially the screams. God, I understand how you feel... Those screams, don't you just relish them?"

For a moment Tessa smiled, as if she genuinely thought that Magnus was as crazy as her. Then she noticed the sarcasm. Her entire demeanour changed instantly, those eyes brightening with that insane light again.

"Huh. You won't be as cocky when you realise who was shouting." Her eyes begged him to question her.

"Who?" Magnus decided to play cool, though inside his blood was boiling.

"Oh, I don't know... One of those Shadowhunters." She looked at him through her eyelashes.

"Oh. Boring. I thought that was going to be interesting. Why would I care about Shadowhunters?" So it was true. He hadn't hallucinated the voice, it was definitely familiar.

"I thought he might be special to you. Alec Lightwood? Name sound familiar?" She sounded disappointed.

It was all he could do not to reach out and strangle her. "Oh... The one that looks like that boy, the Shadowhunter? What's his face... Will! Blue eyes, black hair? Do you remember him?" Magnus couldn't resist the jab.

"How could I forget Will?" Tessa was getting angry. That was good. Anger meant mistakes. Magnus needed her to make a mistake if there was any chance of him saving Alec.

"Oh I don't know... Thought you would've moved on... You didn't seem too upset when he died..." Magnus felt bad. He knew that she loved him. But he needed her to open up and reveal something so he could help her as well as Alec. And besides, she had been torturing Alec.

Slap!

Magnus' head hit the chair. She had hit him. He couldn't believe it. But that meant his plan was working.

"Don't you ever. Don't you EVER say that! You-"

She collapsed to the ground. While she was getting more and more annoyed, he had dug the huge splinter out of his finger and had been sawing on the ropes. When she had slapped him, he had jerked and the rope and broken.

Magnus smiled, but there was a tinge of sadness.

What had happened to her?

"Magnus. Magnus." Her voice was hoarse. Magnus' inner goodness won him over and he leaned down to her.

"Help me... Help me Magnus. I don't know what's happening..." And with that her voice faded into nothing.

Magnus wavered. She was suffering, it was obvious. Who knew, maybe a demon was possessing her? But, on the other hand, it was Alec. He made up his mind.

He lifted Tessa up and lightly bound her to the chair with the remaining rope. He had to speak to her afterwards. But he needed to get to Alec.

…...

"Get away from me. Please! Oh Raziel, I can't deal with this anymore." Alec was sobbing, all shreds of dignity had vanished.

"By the Angel, what have they done to you Alec?!" Magnus rushed up to Alec- but then he stopped.

"No! No! Not another hallucination! Not one with him, not with Magnus. Stop it, please!" The pain and terror were audible in Alec's voice, his soul being bared in his words.

"Alec. Alec, darling, it's me. It's me for real." Magnus stroked Alec's cheek- but Alec jerked away.

"No! Don't use Magnus! Why are you torturing me? Please, stop!" There was a crazy light in Alec's eyes, and for the first time in centuries, Magnus was terrified.

"Alec. Alexander Gideon Lightwood. God, look at me." Magnus was scared. What had Tessa done to him? Gently, he tilted Alec's head until he was looking into his eyes.

"Alec," he breathed, looking into those blue, blue eyes. "Alec. It's me."

All at once the curse was broken. Alec's eyes focused on Magnus' green-gold cat eyes.

"Magnus? Magnus!" Alec's eyes filled with so much hope at seeing him. Then it was replaced with fear.

"Get away, Magnus! She'll hurt you! I can't let you get hurt!"

That's not what you thought when you were trying to shorten my life, Magnus thought, but then instantly felt bad.

"I won't leave you Alec. And Tessa is... in a safe place anyway. Come on, we're going to the Institute."

Alec looked up at Magnus through those long black lashes and Magnus felt his heart melt. All that anger, that hurt he had been holding onto was thawing.

"Magnus, I- I vowed to myself that- that whatever happened I would-"

Magnus put a finger to Alec's lips. "Don't. We can talk later."

"But-"

"No, Alexander, you will do as I say. You need rest." His tone was both demanding and affectionate.

Their eyes met as they realised what Magnus had said. He tone sounded exactly like before, like when they were together...

I love you." Alec seemed shocked by the words. He repeated them with more certanity. "I love you, Magnus Bane, more than anything and I can't go through the pain of losing you ever-"

His words were cut off as Magnus grabbed his shirt and pulled him up. Magnus' heart was pounding so fast it was a wonder it didn't explode. All their emotions poured into each others eyes- the anger, the terror, the regret. The moments of happiness, of sadness. He wasn't even sure how it happened but suddenly Alec's lips were on his own and they were kissing with such passion that Magnus didn't understand why the world didn't just blow up right then, with them at the epicenter. Magnus gently pulled back- just as Alec's eyes rolled back in his head.

Sorry that was kinda short but thanks for reading and please review and stuff! Hope you liked the Malec and there will be more... ;)
