Chapter 15: Give Me My Kids Part 1
Raoul made it to the restaurant at 3 pm. Unknowing to him, Phillip and Meg would be there at 4 pm, but they would not come to the table until after he left. They had a reservation for 5 pm. Erik and Christine made it at 3:30 pm.
Catherine saw them first, "Daddy! Mommy!" Her and Edward ran to their parents.
"Hey you two," Erik picks up Catherine as Christine hugs Edward grabbing his little hand.
"Well are you all hungry?" Raoul asked.
"No, we have another engagement after this. We'll eat then," Christine states.
"Oh ok." Raoul looked at Christine, "Christine are you really happy with him?"
"Yes, and I'd be happier if I had my kids."
"But what of the plans we had?" Raoul asked.
"Have you eaten?" Erik aske watching his kids.
"Yes. We got here at 3 and ate before you got here," Raoul answered. "I fed your kids, Opera Ghost."
"Thank you," Erik growls.
"Raoul, why are you doing this? Why six years later? We were childhood sweethearts nothing more."
"No, Christine, he kept us from being more. He made you choose. It was either my death and live the rest of your life alone free of him or choose him and I live It was a lose-lose situation for you."
"It did look that way at first," Christine looked down at her kids then her husband before looking back at Raoul, "but it became a win-win. I have a family who loves me."
"I love you, Little Lotte. I wouldn't have you cleaning or cooking or any of that. We would have servants to do it."
"Servants that hate you!" Catherine commented.
"Listen, kid, that's not my fault. You shouldn't have been helping."
"Well you shouldn't have told us to find something to do from breakfast to lunch, monsieur," Catherine shot back.
"Yeah, you should have made it clear what we could and could not do," Edward nodded.
"These kids need training. She needs to learn the rod of a woman not a servant girl. And he needs to learn to be a man of honor."
"No, you need manners. Edward is more man than you. You hit women," Catherine grumbles.
"I think my choice is made and clear. I will not leave Erik or my children," Christine states firmly. "I will get my kids."
"Sleep on it Little Lotte. I think you'll come around." Raoul stood ready to go, "Catherine, Edward, let's go."
"We will get you home," Erik tells Catherine and Edward while hugging them and glaring daggers at Raoul.
"Ok. Bye Daddy. Bye Mommy."
When they got home, Raoul took the kids to their rooms, "Get some rest you two."
They just nod.
"Your mom will come around you'll see," Raoul smiled too sweetly as he left.
When he closed the door, Raoul began to think, 'Have I gone crazy. Auntie sounded reasonable at first…as always. I couldn't hurt these kids even if I don't particularly like their father. I don't think I hate him anymore. I'm just jealous of him. I'm going to take the kids home myself tomorrow.'
