Hey everyone! Okay, I am an awful person, I should have updated sooner, I know. Thanks to everyone who has stuck by me! I am so sorry! There were exams and I had to revise :( And then I went on holiday! But all that's over now! :D

Thanks so much and I love you guys! :D

"Dammit! For the first time I needed her in my 800 years, for the first time I am trying to find that stupid vampire, she is dead."

"Magnus. Calm-"

"No. No I won't calm down! That vampire broke my heart. She broke my heart, Brother Zachariah. She broke my heart! I loved her! And then she turned up, again and again. Wherever I went to escape her pain-she followed. And then she ruins my life yet again!?"

"Magnus. There is another-"

"And she ruined Alec! Without her none of this would have happened! Alec, my Alec, would still be mine!"

"MAGNUS! Stop feeling sorry for yourself for one second and listen to me!"

Magnus stopped his rant and turned to face Brother Zachariah. For some reason, Magnus trusted him, more than he thought that he would, or could.

"Magnus, there is a way to save Alec."

Magnus paused in his rant. "But I thought you said that the only way for us to save him was with Camille?" For once, there seemed to be hope in his face.

"There is a way to bring her back, Magnus."

Magnus merely stared.

"You have to go to the demon realms, Magnus. You have to ask for the help of a Greater Demon, preferably, a Prince of Hell."

He paused.

Magnus looked at him, wondering why he had stopped.

Then he realised.

"No. You want me to call on my father!? No!"

Brother Zachariah sighed. "I thought this was going to happen. Magnus, this is the only way, or you will lose Alec forever."

Magnus sighed.

"When you put it like that, there's no choice..."

Magnus decided that seeing Alec was worth having a book thrown at his face. It was the last time he was going to see those blue eyes before he (literally) descended into Hell. And he needed to see Alec. He could give him the strength he needed.

Magnus cautiously pushed open Alec's door-

And was not prepared for the figure that jumped at him.

Although he had lived for 800 years, Magnus had never picked up any sort of self defence- he assumed that his magic would be enough.

But not with Alec.

He feebly tried to push away the Shadowhunter, whilst his mind informed him that he was still lean and lightly muscled.

His mind also informed him that he was extremely attracted to him- which he didn't particularly want to know right now.

Magnus tried to move out of the way and pushed Alec.

The Shadowhunter barely moved an inch.

Magnus tried again, with a little bit more force- to no avail.

"Alec!" he yelled as he saw the Shadowhunter's hands move around his neck.

Great, I'm going to die by strangulation. Or asphyxiation. Is strangulation even a real word? Magnus thought.

He almost laughed that those were going to be his last thoughts.

What he didn't expect was Alec's mouth suddenly against his own, with a ferocity he didn't even know that Alec had. Except when he was fighting demons.

Magnus grinned into Alec's mouth. Maybe he wouldn't have to go to Hell. Alec was fine! Brother Zachariah was just an idiot.

And just as suddenly as the kiss had started, it stopped.

Magnus pulled away, confused.

Alec was smiling at him. No, not smiling- smirking, Magnus realised.

"You stupid, stupid Downworlder," Alec said. "You believed that still I loved you?"

He's implying that he did love me at some point, Magnus thought gleefully. Progress!

"As if. I poisoned you!"

Magnus was shocked for a moment before he realised how unrealistic that was.

"Right, because you haven't been locked in this room for the past week."

"I poisoned you right now," Alec said, smirking.

Magnus conviction faded for a moment, and then returned.

"What, when you were kissing me?" Magnus grinned. Alec's face was so cute when he was mad.

To his surprise, Alec grinned a bit more. "Yup."

Magnus was scared now- but he wasn't going to show it.

"What, your saliva had poison in it?"

"Yup," Alec said. He was really enjoying this.

"Wouldn't that mean that you would die too?"

Magnus had caught him off guard. "Well. No. Because... It only works on Warlocks." But Magnus could see the fear in his eyes.

Had Alec accidentally killed himself in the process of killing Magnus?

"Alec? Are you sure it was poison?"

Alec looked positively terrified now. "Um. It only affects warlocks." It sounded like a question this time.

Alec couldn't die! He was too young, too beautiful. He had an entire life left to live! Once he got his emotions back, he would be Alec, one of the bravest Shadowhunters Magnus had met. He couldn't die! And not from something as stupid as this. He thought about calling for Brother Zachariah but decided he could handle this himself.

"Alec, what did the poison look like?"

"Um, it was a berry," he sounded like Alec now. But Magnus didn't want to say anything off topic in case he threw a book at him again.

"What berry? Colour? Flavour?"

"It was blue. Small. Hard. Sweet with a hint of sour?" Alec responded.

Magnus tried to visualise the berry. He leafed through his knowledge of herbs. Nope, nothing. It must be new.

"Where did you get it?" Magnus asked, stopping himself just before he grabbed Alec's shoulders.

Alec hesitated.

"Alec?" Magnus had an idea where this was going.

"A woman came in. She had long brown hair. She said they were poisonous berries, and that I should use them to kill you. She told me to make you eat them." Alec paused. "I said yes. Why did I say yes?"

Magnus looked at him, really looked at him for the first time and saw the anguish deep inside his eyes.

"I don't want you to die, Magnus! I don't know why I said yes! Magnus?"

Magnus looked at him. He couldn't help what he had done- he had no emotions. Choosing to kill him would have been like choosing a CD to play- a decision with no meaning.

But still. Magnus couldn't help the hurt that flooded through him.

"Alec, do you realise what this means? We will die. Both of us. We will die!" Magnus was terrified. This new Tessa would kill him, he had no doubt. And he was scared of death- of the unknown.

After living for so long, death was terrifying. He couldn't imagine just suddenly not existing.

"I'm sorry Magnus! I don't know why I agreed! I could never want you dead!" Alec's face was a picture of anguish and pain.

"You were prepared to shorten my life, weren't you?"

Immediately, Magnus regretted the words.

Alec's face filled with more pain- if that was even possible.

"I'm sorry Magnus! I was just... I was- I was jealous, okay? I was jealous of Will and Camille and of everyone else you have ever loved! I felt like I was just one of millions and I didn't know how real your love was!"

"And you thought that that gave you permission to shorten my life?" Magnus said, but already the anger was fading. He hadn't know what Alec had felt like. He didn't think it was anything like he had described.

And looking at Alec's face now, the last thing he wanted was to be mad at him.

Screw the consequences, Magnus thought and walked up to Alec.

"Alec," he said, staring into those blue eyes. "You were always the one I loved."

And he kissed him.

A part of him was expecting Alec to push him away and throw a book at him like before.

But he didn't.

Alec kissed Magnus with a ferocity that surprised him and Magnus kissed him back. If they were going to die, this was the time to let go of grudges.

Suddenly he pulled back.

"Alec. Are you sure the berries were poisonous?" Magnus asked, a hint of amusement in his eyes.

"Er, that's what the woman said," Alec replied, his eyes flickering to Magnus' lips.

Magnus laughed.

"What's funny?" Alec asked, his face crinkling into a confused expression.

"Alec, did this berry taste like a blueberry to you?"

"What? Um. Actually... It could have been a blueberry."

Magnus laughed at Alec's bright red face.

"How was I supposed to know?" Alec said, blushing even more.

Magnus laughed.

"You are a Shadowhunter! What happened to your heightened senses?" Magnus teased.

The expression on Alec's face shifted.

"What are you doing here? I thought I told you to leave me alone?"

Magnus was shocked. What had he said wrong?

Magnus started backing away. His nose didn't want another book thrown at it.

"You coward! Don't run away from me!"

"I'm not running. Alec, you need rest."

"Why would I take advice from a Downworlder like you? Get out!"

Magnus sighed and opened the door.

"I will save you, Alec," he said. And left the room.

He could still see Alec. He was sitting on the bed now, straight backed, staring straight ahead.

As if he could feel Magnus watching him, he turned. The look in his eyes made fear clench Magnus' heart.

Not because he was scared of Alec, but because he was scared for him.

"I don't know what I said wrong!" Magnus said. "Everything was fine, more than fine actually. But suddenly he just, I don't know, lost his emotions!"

"It could have been anything Magnus. Don't blame yourself!"

"No one else was there. It must have been me!"

"But it wasn't your fault, it was bound to happen eventually."

"But I don't understand what I did! If I knew, I could just avoid doing or saying it and everything would be okay!"

"Magnus, what were you talking about?"

"Oh. Tessa had given him a blueberry to kill me with."

"A blueberry? How would that-"

"I don't know. She could have been living in a cave this past century. She might have missed the rise of the blueberry."

"And then I think I said something about Shadowhunters having good senses?" Magnus paused. "Could it have been that? Was me teasing him, too hard for him to handle? Because if that's it, then I could stop?"

"No Magnus, I think it's something else. What triggered it the last time?"

"I said something about me? About being a Warlock?" Magnus gasped. "You don't think it's that do you?"

"Magnus, I think that memories of the Shadowhunter world trigger it."

"No! How will he be able to fight, to see demons? Hell, how will he be able to talk to Jace? The only thing that boy talks about is demons!"

"That's why you are going to have to get help, Magnus. There is no other choice. If we leave it like this, soon he might lose his emotions permenantly. You will lose Alec."

Magnus looked at Brother Zachariah with horror. It was one thing for Alec to die- it was something entirely different if he lived with no emotions. He would lose Izzy, Jace. He would lose the fighting he loved so much.

Magnus couldn't let that happen.

As you can see, I can't write kissing scenes, so if anyone wants to help me with that, feel free!

Please review and tell me what you thought!

I promise there won't be such a long wait for the next chapter! :D
