Chapter 44 - Just Relaxing
Leonard laid in bed while Penny slept close to him, her head on his chest, he felt so good having her there with him and like many mornings when he woke before her, he felt so lucky that such a wonderful woman like Penny would pick to be with him and now spend her live with him. They had gone to bed early, about 10 PM, and now it was 8 AM, he had a good 10 hours sleep, but he had napped yesterday, so Penny hadn't really rested till they went to bed. She was exactly in the same spot she fell asleep in, she had been beat and Leonard wouldn't wake her up for anything, she reminded him of an angel laying there on his chest with a facial expression of pure innocence. However, Leonard's quiet time with Penny was suddenly interrupted when Judy Carlson walked into the room, thankfully quietly, not waking Penny up.
Judy walked into the room to see Lieutenant Colonel Hofstadter awake and just looking at his sleeping wife, a small smile on his face, with an expression that Judy could only describe as love. She saw his eyes flash to her, and she could tell he wanted her to be quiet, to not wake his wife, so Judy quietly walked up to him to whisper the question she came in for. "Colonel Hofstadter would you and your wife like breakfast?"
Leonard looked back at Penny, he really didn't want to wake right now, so he whispered to Judy, "How long before they stop serving?"
"You can get food till 9AM." Judy responded.
Suddenly they both heard. "Hmmm, food." as Penny snuggled closer to Leonard, never opening her eyes, and never really becoming fully awake.
Leonard smiled. " Could we get something close to 9 AM before they stop serving?"
Judy smiled back, "No problem sir." then she quietly left the room.
Leonard laid there just holding Penny for the next half hour, until she slowly started to stir from the deep sleep she was in. She laid there a couple of minutes with her eyes open, trying to remember where she was, she had slept so hard, she was disoriented and actually thought she was at home in bed with Leonard when she first woke up. She let out a little sigh as she remembered where she was and immediately felt Leonard's hand start to rub her back, letting her know he was already awake. Penny closed her eyes and cuddled her husband a little more. "Hmmm"
"Did you sleep well?"
"I think I slept the sleep of the dead, Sweetie. I haven't slept this hard in a long time. I didn't even move did I?" Penny now turned her head to look up at him.
Leonard chuckled, "No you were really out. They should be bringing us food in a little bit, so I hope you are hungry."
"I am and I hope they bring coffee…Leonard I was so worried we wouldn't be able to be together like this when we got here yesterday."
"Yeah, me too, but hey everything worked out, so don't worry about it, okay."
"Okay. I love you Honey." Penny then lifted her head off of Leonard so she could kiss him, she would never take for granted being able to kiss him again.

The morning had been real quiet for Penny and Leonard, they ate breakfast then both took showers, Penny helping Leonard both showering and getting dressed. They then talked for a while, for the first time discussing plans for the future together, until lunch came. Today was a day of rest for them after the travel and flight yesterday, Leonard would start his physical therapy the next day, so today they just had to goof off. That is why it was the perfect day for Penny's parents to visit, which they did a little while after Penny and Leonard had finished lunch.
Meryl came to the room doorway, knocked and walked into their room a few minutes after their lunch trays were taken away, and asked Penny to go outside to talk to her father, while she visited Leonard. Penny looked at Leonard in confusion, but then gave him a kiss and walked outside to see her father, while Meryl walked up to Leonard's bed, a big smile on her face. "There's nothing wrong is there?" Leonard asked, a little confused.
"No Sweetie, Wyatt just wants to talk to Penny alone for a minute, she'll probably be back in ten minutes." Meryl explained.
Meryl was exactly right, as about ten minutes later, Penny and Wyatt walked in, Penny with a small smile on her face as she walked up to Leonard to give him a kiss. "Honey, my mom and me are going to get some coffee, while you and dad talk."
Leonard now completely confused, just nodded, "Okay." then watched as Penny took her mothers arm and walked out with her. Leonard looked at Wyatt a puzzled look on his face.
"How are you doing, Son." Wyatt pulled up a chair to sit by Leonard's bed.
"Better….much better. I just need to get my strength back, they tell me, but otherwise I'm going to be fine. I actually feel pretty good right now, it is just a little sore sometimes when I move and I am weak."
"You lost a little weight too, I see." Wyatt observed.
"Yeah, that too, but they told me that is just temporary."
"Good, it is really a relief to know you are getting better and are going to completely recover." Wyatt smile then faded. "Meryl told me when she came home that if you didn't recover fully that Penny would probably have a break down, she was holding on by just a thread her mother said. That is why I wanted to talk to her first to see how she was."
Leonard nodded, "I'm sorry sir, I let her down getting hurt like that."
Wyatt shook his head, "Son don't be sorry, that was yesterday and you are getting back to normal now, so that is water under the bridge." Wyatt's smile then came back, "I'm proud of you Son, and I want to thank you for not giving up on my daughter."
"Sir it was really her that didn't give up on me."
Wyatt chuckled, "I know you both didn't give up on each other, because you both needed each other. Son, every time Penny use to visit, she couldn't help but talk about you, it was Leonard this and Leonard that, she had you in her mind all the time. I knew when she was dating you, she was in love with you by the way she talked about you, that is why I didn't want you to give up on her."
Leonard just looked at Wyatt, "I loved her too."
Wyatt nodded, "My daughter is strong willed and sometimes doesn't see things because she refuses to see them, but she had been in love with you Son for a long time, parents know that stuff, so believe me. And talking with her just now, it is so obvious she is love with you, Son, so as her father I don't have to ask you not to hurt her, because I think you know she is the girl for you and you are the man for her."
Leonard nodded, "I won't hurt her and I will protect her with my life."
Wyatt smiled, "I know Son, I knew it when she told me about you and then when I got to know you. A good man is easy to see in this world today, you sort of stand out from the crowd."
"Penny is wonderful, I will be the best husband I can be."
Wyatt nodded, "I have no doubt about that, you are already taking care of her and I can tell she is very happy to be with you." Wyatt then got a little serious. "Leonard, Penny and I also talked about something else, concerning you both being married now. I just wanted to check with her before I brought it up with you, it concerns the farm."
"Is something wrong?" Leonard was now concerned.
"No nothing like that, Son. It is just that the farm has been in our family for a long time and I would like to see it stay that way. My son was made a few mistakes with the law and is presently locked up and my oldest daughter's husband, I just don't trust him. So I would like to make Penny and you the beneficiaries of the farm when me and Meryl get too old or have lived our time."
"Wyatt I couldn't."
"Son, I trust Penny and I trust you, so make a father happy and do this, okay. And remember, me and Meryl don't plan to go anywhere for a long time, so don't expect to be farming anytime soon." Wyatt chuckled.
Leonard chuckled, "Okay sir, I would be honored and I expect Penny already agreed."
"She did, but she said it was up to you. She was very persistent that it was up to you." Wyatt chuckled again. "What are you doing to my daughter, she is already acting like a wife."
Leonard couldn't help but laugh and Wyatt joined him. "I don't know sir, she seems to know what she is doing more than I do, so I just follow her lead."
Dr Thorne came in the room to find both Leonard and Wyatt laughing and couldn't help smile at the good mood they both were in. "Did I miss a good joke."
Wyatt turned and continued to chuckle a little, "No doc, my son here, is a newlywed and he is already having to learn things about my daughter."
Thorne nodded, "Done that, been there. So, Lieutenant Colonel Hofstadter, it seems that you are feeling well today."
"Just call me Leonard, and yes, I feel good, just still weak on my left side."
"Well after a few weeks of pure torture, we call physical therapy, you should be feeling a lot stronger. We'll be starting tomorrow morning with you, just after breakfast, the morning will be about your upper body and the afternoon, your lower body, with about a two hour break between for lunch. Don't worry if you are real sore the first week, that is expected, it will get better after a while. Also if you do well, we will give you a weekend pass next weekend."
"That sounds great. Will I be able to go anywhere?" Leonard asked
"Well we don't want you going over a 100 miles away, but yes anywhere." Thorne answered.
Leonard looked at Wyatt. "Son you are welcome anytime, we would love to have you both, and we are less than a 100 miles away." Wyatt chuckled
"I'll work my hardest then, Doc." Leonard said and smiled.
"Good, now if you don't mind, I like to give you a little check up, then I'll leave you with your visitors." The doctor then walked over to the bed to begin his exam.
Penny and Meryl returned just as Dr Thorne finished up and as he walked out, he smiled to Penny and told her Leonard was doing great, which brought a smile to Penny's face. They visited all afternoon, then helping Leonard into a wheel chair they all went to the hospital cafeteria to have dinner together, which turned out to be very pleasant, almost like going out. Meryl and Wyatt stayed till 7 PM before they had to leave and Penny gave them big hugs and kisses as they left, thanking them for making her and Leonard's day just wonderful. Meryl and Wyatt also hugged Leonard, who like his wife, thanked them and asked them to come back as soon as they could.
Penny and Leonard then just got comfortable on their beds and set up their laptop so that they could Skype with Howard and Bernadette that evening, as planned. They talked about the day and kissed a little, to kill time, before the 8 PM scheduled time to contact their friends. Their day had been perfect and they couldn't wait to talk to their friends to see what was happening with the Wolowitz family and all their other friends back in Pasadena.

Howard and Bernadette had gotten home two hours before their planned Skype session and Bernadette had changed into something more comfortable from her work clothes. She had a small bump on her belly, not really enough to show through her clothes but big enough for Howard to caress every chance he got when he was around her. It made her feel so good for him to gently rub her belly, he did it with pure love and he made her feel so special when he did it. She liked it so much, she usually wore loose shirts around the house so it was easy for him to slip his hand on her belly whenever he wanted, his touch as much of a pleasure to her as to him. However, tonight Bernadette had been thinking of Howard all day and being pregnant had made her sexual drive much stronger, so when she buttoned up her loose shirt that night, it not only covered her bare belly, but her bare breasts too. She planned on seducing her cute attentive husband that night before she went to bed.
Howard set up his laptop on the coffee table for the upcoming Skype session with Leonard and Penny, which would happen in about a half hour. Howard and Bernadette were both excited to talk to their friends and find out how they were, as much as their friends were excited about them. Howard set up the laptop on standby so it would immediately connect when his friends called, then got comfortable on the couch as his wife came over with drinks for both of them.
Bernadette couldn't help how cute Howard looked to her, Howard had almost stopped wearing dickey's completely and now, around the house he would wear jeans and a t-shirt which showed off his arms, his now muscular arms. Howard's time in Army training had given him a work out routine and he had been following it religiously, telling Bernadette he wanted to enjoy their grandchildren with her when they got old, and with the side benefit that her Howie was now looking a little buff. So she walked up to him and put the drinks on the coffee table, then sat in Howard's lap, immediately starting to kiss him, while she rubbed her chest against him. Howard got fully involved in Bernadette's make out session as soon as her tongue entered his mouth and he automatically reached under her shirt to gently rub her belly. They both were desiring each other so their make out session quickly escalated and as Howard rubbed Bernadette's tummy more, he started to graze the bottom of her bare breasts, which made her moan and only fueled their passion more. They quickly were lost in each others arms as the only thing they sensed was each other, both drunk with passion for their mate.
Leonard pushed the button to connect with Howard at 8 PM sharp and was surprised to see the screen immediately pop up with their two friends, however it took a second to realize what he was seeing and quickly that surprise turned to shock as he turned his eyes away to look at Penny, who was now staring wide eyed at the screen. "I wasn't expecting that." was all he said to his wife as he now only looked at her.
It took a couple of seconds for Penny to get over the shock of seeing Bernadette's bare breasts with Howard's hand on one of them rubbing her nipple. Penny turned to Leonard, trying to recover from what she saw, "Yeah….surprise!" Then Penny said in a louder voice without turning back, "Guys, we see you, so you might want cover up."
Howard and Bernadette stopped kissing and stared at Penny on the screen, Howard suddenly realizing what he had been doing when they came on screen and began to pull Bernadette's unbutton shirt back together as Bernadette realized her breasts were fully exposed to the people on the other end of their Skype session. Bernadette squealed in embarrassment as she turned her back to the screen and pushed her exposed breasts against Howard so Leonard and Penny wouldn't see them, making it impossible for Howard to button her shirt back, so he just put his arms around her to try and cover her more from their eyes. Then as Bernadette pinned herself to Howard, her head on his shoulder, her back to Leonard and Penny, while in his arms, Howard looked back at the screen, with a beet red face and a forced smile. "Hi guys."
