AN: Holy cow this story has picked up a following since I updated last. For those of you who are new, welcome and I appreciate that you are reading this story. For those of you who are regulars, sorry for the delay. My creative juices have been sucked dry by school the past few months and I haven't been able to write. But I started writing this early yesterday morning and by last night I had the exact way that I wanted it. I hope all of you like it and please review.
After a night of tossing and turning Leah finally gave up on trying to sleep just before dawn. It wouldn't be the first time she had run patrol after a sleepless night. She had hot flashes all night long and Jacob had left around midnight when she had snapped at him for the twentieth time that he was just making things worse. Yes, she felt bad for treating him badly, but she couldn't help that her emotions were even more out of whack than normal.
She had been on an emotional roller coaster for a week now and everyone was starting to worry. Today would be the first time that she had patrolled in over a week because Sam hadn't wanted her around the other wolves in the state that she was in. The smallest things set her off lately. She had yelled at Seth for five minutes yesterday for accidently stepping on the loose floor board outside her door and had felt so guilty when he had fixed the board, acting like nothing was amiss. Couldn't that kid get upset, just once?
She got out of bed and dressed in darkness, wondering which of the boys would have to suffer with her mood swings. Sue was in the kitchen when Leah walked in five minutes later.
"Why are you here so early? Don't you have a shift at the hospital at ten?"
"I switched with Sandra Call. You have an appointment this afternoon and I am going with you to make sure that you keep it."
"I do?" Leah asked in confusion, turning to her mother.
"Yes, with Audra. We can't be late either, you know how she is about people being late."
Audra Raintree was the only tribal healer on the Reservation but she was also a recluse. It took weeks to get an appointment with her and if you broke that appointment or were late; you didn't get another one.
"So you're pulling the night shift tonight?"
"Yes Leah, I am; which means that you are your brother's warden tonight. Try not to go on a power trip and neglect to feed him again.
"That happened one time, and he was being a pain in the ass," she said, her defenses and walls going up.
"Honey, I know that you can't control what's going on. But you have to accept my help because I am your mother and I don't like seeing you like this," Sue said wearily.
Leah nodded before walking out the room. She had lost her appetite and if she didn't leave now she was going to be late. She made it to the clearing that Sam had designated as a meeting place for the pack the same time Sam did. She narrowed her gaze and squared her shoulders, ready to take whatever he threw at her.
"I'll take the north and east sides if you stay to the south and west. You know what to do if you find anything," he said formally before turning his back to her and walking away.
Leah stared after him; wondering if this day would be as long as she was dreading it would be.

Paul was still half asleep when Bella's hand reached under the sheet to wake him up in the best way possible. Her hand glided up and down his penis leisurely until it hardened under her touch. He sighed deeply in contentment before slowly opening his eyes to see his beautiful wife hovering over him.
"Morning, Sunshine," she said with a lazy smile.
"Morning," he said, his voice still laced with sleep.
Bella pulled back the sheet before hitching her left leg over his hips and straddling his waist. Paul took her in, starting at her legs, because they were his favorite part of her. His fingers ghosted over her thighs, dipping into her center before blazing a trail over her hip bone. Her stomach that she had worked so hard on after Holden was born was flat but the stretch marks were still there, reminding him of the baby who slept at the other end of the house. Bella was quick to bring the focus back to her by grinding her sex against his erection.
"Damn, do that again," he groaned.
"I have a better idea," she said, leaning up to grab hold of his erection and guiding him into her center.
"I like your idea better," he said, leaning up on his elbows as she began to ride him.
They weren't in a hurry so they kept a slow pace. His hand fisted in her hair to bring her close to him and crushed his mouth to hers. He pulled her bottom lip between his teeth, worrying it just the way she liked until she opened her mouth to him with a content sigh. He lifted his hips to meet hers in a perfect rhythm.
Her forehead rested against his as she rode him, driving herself closer to her release. She could feel it slowly building in her stomach and it wouldn't be long before her body ignited with fire the way it always did when her orgasm washed over her. She knew that Paul was close too; he was driving himself deeper, filling her, hitting all of the places that she loved. She moaned as he hit her pleasure spot, her nails raking over his chest. She rolled her hips one last time before her orgasm slammed into her, making her moan Paul's name. She fell against him, burying her face in his neck as she rode out her orgasm. Once she recovered she continued grinding into him but at a more feverish pace.
Paul grunted; his pace matching hers as his seed spilled into her. He stilled, his chest heaving against hers. Bella sighed before kissing behind his ear. He wished that every morning could start like this, but with a baby in the house it just wasn't possible. Their sex life was always fun and never boring but lately sex had been sporadic. Bella wanted to change that.
Holden could be heard cooing from the monitor and Paul sighed.
"He's not fussing; we can give him a few minutes."
"Who are you and what have you done with my wife?" he asked, giving her a teasing look.
"I just thought that we could focus on us for a little while longer," she said with a shrug.
"I love you," he murmured against her lips.
She kissed him lightly as Holden started to fuss from his room.
"Will you make some coffee?" she asked, climbing off of him.
She pulled on the silk robe that Paul had given her for their anniversary a few weeks ago before leaving the room. Holden was kicking his legs and waving his arms in the air when she walked into his room. She smiled down at him after on the light and he stilled almost instantly.
"Hey Bubba," she said lovingly.
Holden smiled a wide gummy smile and reached up for her. She picked him up, holding him close as she carried him to the changing table. Since it was so hot outside and the cabin had no air conditioning Holden usually slept in just a diaper. Paul was looking into getting central heating installed before winter hit because the space and kerosene heaters from last year wouldn't do this year.
After putting a fresh diaper and onesie on him she carried him into the front room where Paul was making her a cup of coffee. She sat at the counter with Holden in her lap and he was content to slap the counter and babble in baby talk.
"What time should you be home?"
"I'm only working half a day. Sam said he'd come in after his patrol."
"Shouldn't he go home and sleep?"
"He says it'll be better take his aggression out better with a hammer and saw than on Emily."
"That's true. Is Leah that bad?"
"It's like it's her time of the month times fifty. You haven't been around her when she's menstrual, I have and it isn't pretty."
"How bad could it be?"
"Let me put it to you this way, you are a saint compared to her."
Bella went through a week every month where she was hormonal and as mean as the Hulk on an anger binge. If Leah was worse than her then Bella was glad that she missed out on it and was not subjected to it now. But that didn't stop her from worrying about her friend.

Leah and Sue arrived at Audra's five minutes early. Audra was with a patient so they let themselves in and waited in her living room. Audra had known about the wolves for years since her grandfather had been one and her grandson, Brady was one as well.
Audra herself was an imprint and her husband, Brand had died several years earlier. Audra came into the room quietly and looked between the mother and daughter. She had heard all about Leah's situation and had been quick to agree to see her when Sue had called. She wanted to talk to the girl who was an exception to a three hundred year rule.
"Good afternoon ladies, if you'll follow me," she suggested to get their attention.
Sue went first and Leah followed at a safe distance. She took in the elderly woman with her silver gray hair in a loose braid who relied heavily on the cane in her left hand. Audra walked with an uneven gait, even with the help of her cane. Audra closed the door to the back room once Leah stepped into the room.
"Have a seat on the table Leah," Audra ordered gently.
"Shouldn't she change into a robe or something?" Sue questioned.
"I want to talk first. Examining her may not be necessary. Tell me Leah, what exactly is going on?"
"My mood swings have off the charts, even for me. I'm not the easiest person to get along with but the slightest things set me off. And I've been having hot flashes, which isn't good for someone who's already overheated as it is."
"And how long has this been going on?"
"Uh, a week now?" Leah guessed and her mother nodded in agreement.
"Any changes in your diet?"
"I've been eating a lot more red meat and junk food in the last week or so than I normally do."
"The smell of my coffee made her loose her appetite yesterday," Sue offered.
"Are you sick at all?"
"No," Leah said with a shake of her head.
"Could she be going through early menopause since she joined the pack?"
"It's a possibility but I want to do some blood work first. Just one more question: I know that you are sexually active but have you had intercourse in the last several weeks?"
"My boyfriend/imprint is a teenage boy; of course I have," she said dryly but evenly.
"Leah, she is only trying to help," Sue said to ease her daughter's temper.
"I'm going to need you to pee in this," Audra said, holding out a cup.
Leah hoped down from the table and took the cup before going into the bathroom. She just wanted to find out what was wrong with her. She hated having test run on her like she was some guinee pig. Hadn't Quil Sr. run enough tests on her when she joined the pack? Sue and Audra were talking quietly when she came back into the room. She set the cup on the counter before sitting on the exam table again.
Five minutes and four vials of blood later Audra announced that they were free to go, promising that she would call Leah with the results of her bloodwork in a couple of days. Leah just wanted to feel semi-normal again so she was willing to try anything.

Bella got a call on Tuesday from her dad and he invited her and Paul over for dinner. It wasn't an abnormal request since they went over to Charlie and Sue's for dinner occasionally, so she said yes right away. Sue and Seth had moved in with Charlie months ago but still kept a lot of their things at the house with Leah who was contemplating moving out.
Harry and Sue's dad had built the house with their bare hands and it would be passed down to Seth once he was old enough. Leah only stayed in the house because her mom wanted her to; she had been trying to talk her mom into renting it out for over a month with no success.
Paul had no complaints about going to his father-in-law's for dinner since it meant that Bella got a break for the night. They arrived early; Charlie hadn't even gotten home yet. Sue took Holden off their hands as soon as they walked in the door and told them to go and sit with Seth, Leah and Jacob.
Charlie came in a hour later to find Bella cleaning the living room since Sue had her hands full making dinner and watching Holden.
"Honey, who all is coming tonight?" Charlie asked as he walked into the kitchen.
"Everyone is already here, why?"
"Then why is Bells cleaning the living room?"
"Seth was working on his science project in there. You know he isn't the more reliable person when it comes to cleaning and also, Bella offered."
"You're more nervous than I am," he said with a light laugh.
"Yes, yes I am," she confirmed with a sigh.
Charlie pulled her to him and rested his chin on top of her head. A phone rang from the living room and Leah could be seen walking out the front door, pulling Jacob behind her.
Jacob pulled his arm from Leah's grasp as she put her phone to her ear. He didn't know what was going on, Leah never acted like this.
"Audra?" Leah asked.
"Brady's grandmother?" Jacob asked in confusion.
"Uh huh," Leah answered Audra, putting a finger to Jacob's lips.
Jacob watched Leah's face go from confusion, to panic then finally the tears came as she wrapped up the call. She pulled the phone away from her ear as Jacob waited patiently.
"Why did Audra Raintree call you? When did you go and see her?"
"I saw her Saturday and she drew some blood so she could run some test. Jake-"
The door opened before she could say what she needed to say. Charlie stuck his head out to let them know that dinner was ready and that everyone was waiting.
"We need just a minute," Leah said, pulling the door closed.
"What's going on?"
"I need you to read my lips so that Paul and my brother can't hear, alright?" she asked, nervously.
"Sure," he agreed quickly.
He watched her lips and wasn't sure if he had read them right. His eyes flitted to her stomach followed closely by one of his hands before looking back up at her with wide eyes. She nodded, swiping at the tears falling down her face.
"It's gonna be okay."
"Really?"
"Sure, we'll talk to my dad tomorrow and maybe he can explain how this happened."
"Well, when two people love each other…"
"I know that part Lee, don't be sarcastic," Jacob said, rolling his eyes.
He gave her a few minutes to pull herself together before going inside. Everyone was gathered around the table and Seth was complaining about having to wait for the other two.
"Cool your jets Brat, we're right here," Leah said, giving her brother the stink eye.
Charlie said grace before everyone started eating. Conversations flowed from one to another until Sue asked Leah a loaded question.
"Have you heard you heard from Audra?"
"Can we not talk about this right now?" Leah asked; her eyes not able to meet her mothers.
"Who's Audra?" Bella asked.
"She's a healer from the Reservation," Leah answered, looking at her hands.
"Why did you go see her? Is something wrong?" Seth asked.
"Why did you have to do bring this up now?" Leah asked, aggravated.
"She's right; can we talk about this another time?" Jacob asked.
"Alright," Sue said quietly.
The room grew quiet and awkward for the rest of dinner. Leah and Bella cleaned the kitchen while everyone else sat in the living room in silence. Charlie stood, pulling Sue with him once the girls were back in the room.
"We have an announcement to make. There is a reason why we asked the four of you to come over. We've set a date for the wedding and we want the three of you to be a part of it," Charlie said to ease the tension.
"That's great! Congratulations," Bella said with a smile.
"Congratulations you guys," Jacob said politely.
"I'm very happy for you both," Leah said with all the niceness she could muster.
"Thank you, Leah," Charlie said appreciatively.
"Can Jake and I go now?"
"Sure," Charlie agreed with a nod.
"Jacob stood, gently tugging on Leah's hand. Bella smiled sympathetically at them both, she could tell that something had happened outside but that they weren't ready to talk about it. Outside, Jacob opened Leah's door for her and she slid into the car silently.
"Can you stay with me tonight?"
"I'll need to swing by my house and put my dad to bed, but sure."
"Okay," she said quietly.
Jacob was in and out of his house in less than five minutes. The drive to Leah's was quiet but it was not as tense as it had been at Charlie's. Leah stripped down to her underwear and a t-shirt before climbing into bed. Jacob lay next to her on his back but his head was to turned towards her.
"Leah?" he asked in the darkness.
"Hmm?" she answered, half asleep.
"Is it okay that I'm a little freaked out?"
"Of course it is. I was scared out of my mind when I found out about Sean."
"And now?"
"More shocked and surprised than anything," she admitted with a chortle.
"So we're okay?"
"More than okay, even if your super sperm did manage to impregnate me before we were ready."
Jacob laughed and soon she joined him. They were going to be okay.

Billy was quiet as Leah explained the events of the last week to him and Jacob. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. How was it possible? He wished that he had answers to the questions that Leah and Jacob were throwing at him but he was just as confounded as they were. They had nothing to go on since Leah was the first of her kind. The best that they could do was play it by ear.
"Here's what we'll do: you need to be seen by an actual doctor and find out how far along you are and if everything is as it should be. You need to be taken off patrols and put on light duty pack wise because we don't want to endanger you or the baby. I can't believe that this is happening, but I am okay with it. I was the same age as you when the twins were born Jacob. And now I get to share my fatherly wisdom with you," he said with a smile.
"I hope that my mom takes the news as well as you have," Leah said in wonder.
"You haven't told your mom?" Billy asked in concern.
"We wanted to talk to you first," Jacob confirmed.
Billy nodded in understanding but was silent as the news sank in. The advice that he had given them had been good and they would take it to heart. Leah was tired of being the exception to the wolf packs strict rules but at least she had Jacob to help guide her and protect her when needed.
