Still not mine! None of it!
Alright, we're on the final few chapters here. Read on!
There was silence after The Master left. Then Jack spoke. "Wait, so where is he now?" he asked, sounding confused. The Doctor grinned and winked.
"Back to reality! Well, the proper one, anyways. Well, the one he came from, I mean. Well, I guess it would be-" "Doctor," Martha said, clearly exasperated, cutting off the Timelord's ramblings. The Doctor took a breath. "He's in his original reality. Probably being chased by Daleks as well as the Timelord council, but we know from past experience that he survives that." Everyone seemed content with this. And then Jack spoke up. "…So, what do we do with the body?" Martha and Jack looked at him, then at the lifeless body of Professor Quirrell lying on the ground face up.
"…Oh damn." Martha said finally. "This will be rather hard to explain, I think." The Doctor said. "Although perhaps we could-" suddenly the flames in the fireplace went up, and a black-robed figure stepped through.
"…Oh damn," all three students said together as a livid Professor Snape stepped through. He looked at the entire room-the mirror in the middle, the dead professor on the ground, the three students standing together. Then he spoke in a perfectly calm voice. "Am I to understand that the Dark Lord is dead?" he asked in a quiet, deadly voice.
"Um… he sort of melted away." Jack said awkwardly when Martha stepped on his foot. "We think he escaped." Snape nodded. And then all vestiges of calm morphed into something else.
"What on earth were you thinking, going after the Dark Lord by yourself! You are students, first-year students, your magic isn't even fully developed yet! Are you lot really such a group of dunderheads that you thought you could take him on by yourself? And who the HELL cast the Killing Curse?" The Doctor noticed that this seemed to be the point which angered Snape the most, and felt a sort of respect for the man. Sort of, anyway. "None of us did, sir." he decided to step in before Snape started cursing them. "Professor Yana kidnapped Harry and tried to take the Philosopher's Stone. Then he killed Quirrell and apparated away." Snape looked at him, frowning. Then turned. "The headmaster has returned, for he realized that the ministry's letter was a false alarm. He will wish to see you three, so please come with me." All three of them realized this wasn't actually a request, but followed him anyways as he stepped through the flames.
They followed Snape as he marched through the various trials, wincing as they saw the troll. The professor stalked through in cold silence, though Martha, who was in front, could have sworn she heard him muttering under his breath about "damn idiotic kids who can't realize when they're outmatched" once or twice.
It honestly seemed like an eternity until Snape finally reached the gargoyle. He tersely said, "Gummy bears," and the gargoyle stepped aside, revealing the stairway. Snape turned to him, face devoid of emotion. "You will go up to the headmaster's study, knock on the door, and go inside when he welcomes you. You will not leave until he dismisses you. Am I clear?"
"Crystal!" Jack said cheekily, earning himself a glare which could make Linda faint in terror. Martha kicked him as they went up the stairs. "Ow!" he whispered. "What was that for?" "Don't forget we're not out of the woods yet!" she hissed. They stopped at the door, and Jack, who was in front this time, knocked. "Come in." Dumbledore's voice called.
He was pouring tea into plain white cups as they entered. "Please, sit down. And have some tea." he said, waving to the three comfy chairs pulled up. They sat, slightly apprehensive. Dumbledore sighed and looked at them, and for once his age was evident in the worry on his face.
"You do realize you could have died, right?" he said seriously. "Yes." they answered in unison, subdued. He seemed to collect his thoughts before he spoke again. "First off, please have some tea." They all took a cup, and were astonished. The Doctor's cup turned from white into a TARDIS design, while Martha's was covered with little stethoscope designs and Jack's had strange gadgets on it. Dumbledore winked at them as he took a sip, and they noticed his had owls and the Hogwarts crest on it. The mood quickly shifted back to it's former gravity, but slightly lighter.
"Now," Dumbledore sighed, "I have to ask you for your memories. I apologize for making you do this, but it is simple, painless, and necessary. Just think of the experience you just went through." The Doctor nodded to show he was ready, and Dumbledore put his wand to his temple. As he took it away, a long, thin, silver strand seemed stuck to it. This Dumbledore put in a small bowl. The process was repeated with Jack and Martha. Dumbledore turned to face them once more. "Now," he began gravely, "I shall assume you do not wish to relive your experiences, and so shall enter your memories by my-good heavens!"
The three students were doubled over in apparent pain. "Check-my memory-" The Doctor choked. "It'l tell-you-what's happening" That was as far as he got. The three students had started glowing gold, and now the gold completely overtook them and Dumbledore had to look away as he was aware of a strange sound, like mechanical wheezing.
The headmaster stared, astonished, at the three students laying unconscious on his floor.
Strange Huon-y magic light thing is WIN!
