chapter 98

Wilkins spent Wednesday night watching multiple news networks while discussing campaign strategy with his chief of staff Alan Finch. The race was tight. Richard Wilkins positioned himself as the sensible middle. He was liberal by supporting minimum wage, gun control, and fighting global warming. He was conservative by supporting traditional family values and being a hawk on foreign policy. Wilkins hoped the populace would consider Obama too liberal and Romney too conservative. He'd made a number of deals with demons and spirits to achieve his power. Wilkins tried to achieve ascension, to become a pure demon. Than he'd have the power too force order unto this chaotic world. Faith had tried to stop him, at first. But they'd set aside their differences and he welcomed her into his family. Wilkins and his wife Edna Mae even adopted Faith as their daughter. But even with Faith's help the watchers were able to destroy the box of Gavarok, a vital tool for the ascension. Wilkins was suppossed to be immortal until the ascension, now he was evidently invulnerable for eternity. Thus he'd re-organized, decided to run for president. This might take longer than expected, but Richard Wilkins would conquer the earth. He talked with his associate Mr. Trick. Trick assured Wilkins that their current project in Sunnydale was coming along nicely. This demon would have his tribute, and they might recruit some good allies for the future. This tribute, a human sacrifice really, was what set Richard Wilkins apart from other politicians. Wilkins actually kept his campaign promises.
