Chapter 110
After detention on Saturday Buffy and Xander started walking. Buffy was suppossed to come right home after detention, Xander's parents didn't care. They couldn't go to the Bronze together. They usually went there to celebrate the end of the school week with Willow and Jessie. But tonight Jessie would be there with Cordelia and Willow was watching DVD's of "Lost" with her new friend Tara. Willow said she and Tara were just friends, even though they'd danced together. Xander thought "Good for all of them." Xander wanted his friends to be happy, even though he was alone. As he walked Buffy home they started talking.
Buffy: Can I ask why you rejected a hot Inca mummy girl?
Xander: I liked her, but it would be difficult, knowing what she did. I'm not judging, I just can't overlook it.
Buffy: Like with Cordelia?
Xander: Yeah.
Buffy; What about me? What I do?
Xander: You're different. You slay monsters.
Buffy: You really believe it's different?
Xander: Yes. They're monsters so it's totally different. Or at least it is to me.
Buffy: Thank you.
Buffy looked into Xander's eyes, she knew he was sincere. Killing other creatures, even vampires, was hard on Buffy. But Xander still loved her. He saw a hero, not a killer. Buffy wanted some normalcy, to feel like a girl. She kissed Xander, he kissed her back. Buffy might be a vampire slayer one day, but for now at least she was a normal girl with a normal boyfriend.
