Mr Trick was on the phone with Wilkins. Wilkins never seemed to swear, or often yell. But Trick could tell Wilkins was angry, and Trick feared his anger but tried to hide it.
Wilkins: How many recruits were real?
Trick: Violet was probably a spy the whole time. Andew and Jonthan lost their nerve. Tucker chose his brother over power. Amy and Warren were legit but failed.
Wilkins: They were being tested. They flunked. Now they're flunkie, not unlike you.
Trick: With all due respect sir, I kept Lucornos from being a nuisance. Way I see it I did you a solid. That's one less demon you have to pay tribute too.
Wilkins: You have a point. You made the best of a bad situation. I would rather Lucornos be dead than cause me problems by being free in this realm. Maybe you did me a favor. But in the future, be careful what kind of favors you do for me.
