Ella sat in the chair next to Molly, they both held each other's hands as the countdown on the tv screen near Lestrade, "3...2...1...0" it ticked; everyone held their breath; no explosion. Ella jumped up clapping, Sherlock and John coming through the doors, victorious in the task given to them; the bomb second bomb was diffused. Ella went to grab the nearest person in a hug, causing Sherlock to stiffen up as she grabbed him tightly, she pulled away quickly planting a kiss on his cheek. She patted his head, "looks like your opportunity came to you after all, Mr. Holmes" she said, Sherlock smiled stiffly remembering last night's conversation.
"You know, you really shouldn't go home with strangers from the bar" Sherlock said to Ella in the carriage; "you know you really shouldn't stalk crazy girls, Mr. Holmes; that's not what heroes do" she replied to him; still trying to lace up her corset without the compliance of the ribbon as Jim was not so ceremonious about ripping it off minutes before. "I'm not a hero" Sherlock stated, taking the ribbon from her hands, looping it through the rivets. "Then what are you doing saving people?" she asked, Sherlock smiled to himself; "I need a job, it keeps me from getting bored at best" he replied to her. His fingers brushed the small of her back as he came to the end of the lace; Ella closed her eyes and smiled, "your lacing it upside down, Cheekbones" she said with a giggle. Sherlock's hands stiffened, "It's okay, I'm still Ella" she said turning to him, taking his hands with hers. Ella sighed with a small smile, his brain trying to pick her apart; trying to completely deduce her. "If your not a hero, Sherlock, why did you follow me back to Jim's house from the bar?" she said meeting his gaze. Sherlock took his hands from hers and reached around her waist to tie the finishing bow as the train came to a stop. "Perhaps, I was searching for an opportunity to be a hero" he breathed near her ear. He recoiled as the doors opened, though no one came on. Sherlock ran his fingers through her hair, pulling it to the proper side, with her short brown hair showing.
Another call came in; another bomb, but this time it was strapped to an old woman, in her apartment.
She didn't make it.
Sherlock hadn't been able to sit down for hours, constantly running about, back and forth to stop the bombs; trying to stop the terrorist from winning, much to no ones avail. They finally stopped, but Sherlock kept pacing about after John went home. He didn't like not knowing; Ella knew that much. And she hated it when people upset her sociopath, as it not only upset him, but her sleeping pattern and the atmosphere of the whole building...and a few gunshots now and again.
Now he was pacing about the morgue, Ella looked at Molly and handed her some money. "Could you go get us a few bags of crisps and some coffees? My treat" she winked at the older girl, who smiled and left the room. Ella stood up and shrugged out of her laboratory coat. "Sit, Sherlock" she said, pulling a chair up close to him. "I don't need to sit, I need to think" he hissed at her; "Oh, ya?" Ella asked raising her eyebrows as she cocked her head to the side. "Yes, Ella, yes, I don't need more interference from John or Molly, or-oR" Ella pulled him down onto the chair. "What do you need to think about?" she asked him, her face sitting on his shoulder; he looked ahead.
"Who is James Moriarty" they said in unison. "Think, your not going to find out today, Sherlock, too many variables, too many options...too many problems" Ella whispered in his ear. "Your mind will think best, when well rested and fed; admit it"she chastised him, he put his hands on his head, trying to compress those words into his skull. Ella put her hands on top of those, holding them.
"Sherlock, you saved so many lives today, diffusing those bombs; London has a hero" she said into his folded hands. "I'm no ones hero, Ella, could you drop the subject" he said, taking his hands away and leaning forward. Ella smiled, she walked in front of the consulting detective; kneeling on the floor, taking his hand, she looked him in the eye. "Your my hero, and above that, your my friend; Sherlock" she said standing. "I don't have frie-" Molly walked back, with Jim trailing behind. Ella stood up quickly, walking over and taking the coffees from him. "Well your early Jim" she told him. "Sherlock, this is Jim from IT" Molly introduced; "gay" Sherlock stuttered, leaving Molly confused and Ella smirking as Jim 'accidentally" knocked over a a few papers on the table, stumbling to pick them up. Ella came over and leaned in close to his ear, "maybe bisexual; you would never say gay if you saw how he was ripping my clothes off last night" she said, causing his back to straighten and for him to nearly knock over the microscope he was looking in.
"C'mon Jim, we should probably go before he has an attack" Ella smirked. Jim smiled and hurried after her like a puppy after it's master, taking her arm and leading her out of the door. "So, the little place by my loft?" she asked him, her eyes scraping over his body. "Actually, how about a picnic, out in the park?" he asked. Ella smiled a little, and nodded, biting her lower lip as she smiled, Jim kissed her forehead. "I thought that it was going to be a one-night-stand, but I think this could go on for a good long while" he said to her.
"And why is that?" she asked as he led her through the park, he patted her arm. "Because your not ordinary, you fooled Sherlock, and me-briefly" he said as the sat down. Ella picked up one of the strawberries in the pile and looked at it in the sunlight, the sunbeams made her hair shine and almost sparkle.
That's her, Jim thought, that's the one I'm going to keep he smiled to himself as his eyes raked over her body. "Open up" she said, leaning over the basket to her date, who opened his mouth takes a bite of the strawberry. "You look a lot prettier when your in the sunlight and smiling" he said cocking his head to the side. "Oh?" Ella smiled, "ya, I think one of these days I'll make love to you in a garden, to see your hair sparkling in the sun and the roses framing your body as I had my way with you, maybe in the early spring, so that I could see your breath every time I made you moan my name...yes, I think we'll have to do that" he said moving into kiss her, Ella turned her head away from him; desperately trying to hide her flushed face. Jim smiled into her neck and held her body close to his, with arms under hers and resting on her stomach; her head on his chest as they sat in the sun and talked.
"So, I'm different because I can lie?" Ella said eventually, "well, I know you have a multiple-personality disorder and quite a large number of other psychological tears, but I didn't think that it was so important" he answered her. "I'm a sociopath, it's okay" he added kissing her head; "no" Ella said, putting her hands in his hair, "your a psychopath, but that's okay. We could be crazy together" she offered. "Deal?" she offered him, he leaned in and kissed the top of her nose. "Deal, I couldn't think of a better deal to make, or a better person to make it with" he said kissing her bottom lip softly.
"I would kill for you, darling" he told her, "I would die for you, I would maim, torture and blackmail if it meant saving you" he added onto that. "I think, I've fallen in love with the Monster man" Ella said with a chuckle, "who would have thought that in one night, and a four hour long picnic could have me falling in love with you" she said as Jim looked at the sky. "So you figured it out already, huh?" he asked her, she nodded. "Oh yes, she said sitting up and facing him, sticking her hand out to him, to which he gladly shook.
"I'm Ella Carmine, and I believe we've just fallen in love, Mr. James Moriarty."
