Adventure to Save the Light
Chapter 21 Monster Queen

Simon and Marceline walked down a hallway and into a large room. They looked around to see if their were any villains hiding in wait to spring a trap. They saw none.
"Welcome to your doom!" Called Iceen's voice.
Marceline and Simon looked around and tried to locate the villain.
"Come out and fight!" Shouted Marceline.
"We want Betty back!" Shouted Simon.
"Oh don't worry you'll get Betty back sooner then you think. We just got done giving her a little makeover." Said Heinous's voice.
Those words made Simon and Marceline boil with anger and fear for Betty's safety.
"If you two, so much as scratched her, I'll freeze every molecule in your body and break them one by one!" Said Simon as he clenched his teeth.
"I'll chop you to pieces!" Said Marceline as she swiped her ax a couple of times.
"Oh no need to get to violent. Betty's just fine in fact she better then ever." Said Iceen's voice.
"Yes better then ever. In fact she's heading your way right now." Said Heinous's voice as a wall rose up and a figure entered the room.
Simon and Marceline starred at the figure in shock. The figure was a women with blue grey skin, long curvy white hair with streaks of black, lightning shaped eyebrows, pointed ears, and fangs. She wore a long sleeved ball gown, and light and dark blue shoes. On her head was a small golden tiara with red gems and around her neck was a purple rhombus-shaped gem hanging by a gold chain.
"Hello heroes." Said the women.
Simon and Marceline's jaws dropped open. They recognized the voice as Betty's.
"Betty!" Exclaimed Simon in shock.
"Mom!" Exclaimed Betty in shock.
"Yes it is Betty. You like what we've done to her? We had a little extra time on our hands so we created the tiara and amulet you see before you. We gave them to Betty and it transformed her. Nows she's part of the family and our obedient servant!" Laughed Iceen.
"You will meet your demise at the hands of someone you care about! It's so gloriously evil! Oh this is going to be so much fun to watch!" Laughed Heinous.
"You monsters! Does your evil know no bounds! Is there nothing sacred!" Roared Simon in anger.
"You twisted freaks! You just keep torturing us and everyone we know and care about!" Screamed Marceline.
"Remove the magical items at once!" Demanded Simon.
"No. You two have interfered with our plans in the past on way to many occasions. It's time for a little retribution." Said Iceen.
"Indeed. Have fun dying, but don't die to quickly, there would be no fun it that. Say hi to your father, when you see him in the Land of the Dead Marceline!" Laughed Heinous.
"Betty, please be a dear and destroy these two." Said Iceen.
"At once my masters." Replied Betty as she raised her hands in a fighting stance.
"Betty please! We don't want to fight you! It's us Simon and Marceline! We your family!" Cried Simon.
"Lord Iceen and Lord Heinous are my family." Said Betty with a glare as she fired some ice shrapnel at Simon.
Simon quickly conjured up a ice shield and blocked the ice shrapnel. Betty conjured up a large ice scythe and swung it at Simon. It connected with his shield shattering it and making Simon stumble back. Betty brought her scythe up and swung it down at Simon. Marceline quickly flew in and pushed Simon out of the way avoiding the attack. The two heroes tumbled to the ground and rolled a few feet away. Marceline got to her feet.
"Mom I don't want to hurt you, but if I have to knock some sense into you to get you back to your senses, then so be it!" Said Marceline as she charged at Betty preparing to punch her in the side of the head.
Betty just looked at Marceline her expression unchanging. Marceline threw her punch at Betty, but stopped it an inch from her face.
"I...can't do it! I can't...hurt mom!" Cried Marceline as tears fell from her eyes and she dropped her fist to her side.
"Ha! How predictable! The child refuses to hit her own mother to save her and to save herself and her father! This is a fight you can not win!" Laughed Iceen.
Simon got to his feet and shouted some encouragement to his daughter.
"Marcy you don't have to hit Betty to save her! You just have to get the tiara and amulet off of her!" Called Simon.
Before Marceline could do any of that Betty made her scythe disappear, grabbed Marceline by the throat and picked her up.
"Betty stop your hurting her!" Cried Simon as he rushed towards Betty.
Betty fired a burst of lightning from her free hand forcing Simon to dodge to the side and back away. Betty turned her attention back to strangling Marceline. The vampire struggled and kicked, but Betty refused to let go. Tears fell from Marceline's eyes as she looked into Betty's eyes.
"Mom...please...stop! I...love...you!" Gasped Marceline.
Betty starred at Marceline in confusion, suddenly a burst of pain hit her and she let go of Marceline. The vampire hit the ground coughing and taking deep breaths. Betty staggered back grasping her head in pain.
"You useless women! Get it together and kill the girl! That is an order!" Shouted Heinous.
Betty started regaining her composure. She created an ice ax and prepared to bring it down on Marceline. Simon came forward and blasted the ax from her hands shattering it. She glared at Simon and pointed her hands at him prepared to fire a burst of lightning at him, but she couldn't. Every time she tried to fire a burst at Simon, she was bombarded with shots of pain to her head. Betty fell to her knees grasping her head in pain and screamed.
"Stupid women! Focus on your job!" Shouted Iceen.
"What is happening?!" Cried Betty in pain and confusion.
Simon calmly headed towards her.
"Your heart, mind, and soul are resisting the control your masters have over you. You...saw the pain in Marceline's eyes and remembered, who she was and what kind of bond you shared. I know...what your going through...having evil voices in your head trying...to change you...and make you into something your not. The Betty I know is a kind caring..women who loves her family and cares for people. Let me help you take off those magical items." Said Simon as stopped in front of Betty. He bent down and offered her his hand.
Betty looked up into Simon's eyes and saw the love and compassion in them. She started to reach her hand out towards his.
"NO! There will be no happy endings! There will only be death and tragedy! It's time for beauty to become the beast!" Shouted Heinous.
The amulet around Betty's neck started glowing and sparking with energy. Betty rose into the air screaming!
"Betty!" Cried Simon as starred up at Betty in horror.
"Mom!" Cried Marceline as she got to her feet.
Betty started transforming. Her hands became more claw like, two curved horns grew out of her head, her eyes turned red, her hair became wild and mangy, her feet turned into claws and busted right out of her shoes, four spider like legs, and a scorpion tail made out of ice burst from her back! Betty landed on the ground laughing evilly as a forked tongue stuck out of her mouth.
"Behold Betty Beast! I've used my powers to make her more beastly and to subdue her human emotions and memory! She won't remember you, until your nothing, but scraps of skin and blood scattered all around the room!" Laughed Heinous.
Betty Beast let out a roar as she grabbed Simon, with one clawed had and threw him at Marceline. The vampire caught Simon using her super strength and careful set him on the ground. The two of them faced the charging Betty Beast as she charged forward swinging her spider legs at the heroes. Simon quickly got in front of Marceline and created an ice shield and blocked the attack Marceline jumped out from behind Simon swinging her ax. She chopped off the tips of the spider legs. Betty screamed in shock as she brought her legs back to her. The tiara on her head glowed as the tip of the spider legs started growing back. Betty changed tactics and slammed her scorpion tail into the shield making cracks appear on it. Simon turned to Marceline.
"We need to get that tiara off of Betty! That will deal with the spider legs and scorpion tail!" Said Simon.
"I'm on it." Said Marceline as she flew into the air at Betty.
Betty saw her coming. She swung her tail up and slammed it into Marceline knocking her to the ground. A small smile was on Marceline's face as Simon took advantage of Betty's distraction to fire a ball of ice at her and knock the tiara off her head. Betty looked confused as the tiara hit the ground, with a thud and rolled a few yards away, before stopping. The spider legs and scorpion tail fell off of Betty and shattered to pieces.
"What! How can this be?!" Shouted Iceen.
"This was our real battle plan." Replied Simon.
"It was?" Asked Heinous in amazement.
"Yes, you see Marceline and I share such a bond with one another that we can tell each other, what were thinking, by just looking into each others eyes." Said Simon.
"Curse you! Betty quick get the tiara!" Ordered Iceen.
Betty made a dash for the tiara, but Marceline was already next to it with her ax raised.
"Sorry, but no more tiara's they don't suit you." Said Marceline as she slammed her ax down on top of the tiara, smashing it to pieces!
"NNNNNOOOOOO!" Shouted Iceen.
"Betty go kill Simon, this instance!" Ordered Heinous.
Betty turned away from Marceline and charged at Simon. She tackled him and knocked him to the ground. Betty pinned Simon's arms to the ground and leaned her face close to his hissing.
"Finish him!" Ordered Iceen.
Betty just stared down at Simon, who just looked back up at her. There wasn't a speck of fear in his eyes. Betty looked confused.
"Betty. I want you to know that I love you no matter what. It doesn't matter how much evil and darkness they pump into you and change you. Deep down your still the kind caring women I fell in love with. No amount of dark magic can take that away from you." Said Simon as he leaned his head forward and kissed Betty on the lips.
Betty was so taken by surprise by Simon's actions she returned the kiss and released the pin on Simon's arms. In one quick moment Simon shot his hand out, froze the chain on the amulet and yanked it off of Betty's neck! Simon froze the amulet and crushed it. Betty collapsed into Simon's lap. She immediately started changing into her regular self. Her skin turned white, her hair turned red and back to it's normal length, her hands and feet returned to normal, her ears and teeth were no longer pointed, and her eyes, were black.
"WHAT! TRUE LOVE DEFEATED OUR MONSTER!" Screamed Heinous in disbelief.
Betty got out of Simon's lap looking confused. Simon embraced her. Marceline walked and joined the group hug.
"Simon? Marceline? What happened? The last thing I remembered was that Iceen guy and Heinous, were putting this weird tiara and amulet on me." Said Betty as she looked down at the ball gown she was wearing. "Why am I dressed like this?" She asked.
"It's a long story." Said Marceline.
"Your were under the influence of Iceen and Heinous, but we rescued you." Said Simon.
"Oh don't go patting yourselves on the back just yet! This battle is far from over!" Declared Iceen as he and Heinous appeared in a flash of light next to the reunited family.
Iceen blasted Simon with a blast of ice as Heinous blasted Marceline with a burst of lightning. Heinous grabbed Betty and then he and Iceen vanished in a flash of light.
"If you want Betty back you have to fight us first!" Called Heinous's voice.
Simon and Marceline staggered to their feet.
"Come on it's time we end this." Said Simon.
Marceline nodded as the two of them headed towards a nearby door and exited the room.
