Chapter 24 Human Hero

In his lair Hexo sat in his throne with StarSinister, Treasuro, and Bella Noche standing by his side. The four of them were looking at a TV screen that showed Finn walking down a hallway. StarSinister was holding a tiny crystal and looking at it.
"According Scorcher both Simon and Marceline have found some kind of hidden power." StarSinister reported.
"We'll that figures. Simon, Marceline, Jake, and Flame Princess all posed power and they have all risen to a new level of power through these battles. However Finn is mortal and possess no powers. For a hero of Prophecy you think he would already poses some kind of unique power." Said Hexo.
"Despite him being a human he has already accomplished many great victories in the past. He has vanquished many enemies, who were all incredibly powerful." Said StarSinister.
"We'll let's see how he deals with the challenge ahead." Said Hexo.
Finn found himself in a dark room lit by green flame torches.
"Hello Finn. It's been a long time." Said a voice from the darkness.
Finn peered through the darkness and saw a large figure with his back facing Finn. The figure had blue grey skin, white hair and wore brown pants.
"Billy is that you?" Asked Finn as he made his way towards the figure.
The figure turned around to face Finn letting out a small chuckle. Finn let out a gasp and pulled out his sword. The figure looked a lot like Billy with one big difference. The right side of the figures face was a twisted evil looking skull with a a green light for an eye and a twisted horn.
"Lich, you sick freak! Your still wearing Billy's skin! That's messed up man!" Shouted Finn angrily.
"This Billy you refer to interfered with my plans and imprisoned me. In the end I killed him and took his skin to disguise myself along with his knowledge and memories. I knew how close you were to Billy and that you would do anything he told you to." Said The Lich.
"Yeah you used me and Jake to get to Prismo so you, could make you exterminate all life wish, but we managed to beat you!" Said Finn as he glared at The Lich.
"An unfortunate set back, but I'm afraid my master Hexo will soon do what I sought out to do. The extermination of all life. Soon there will be nothing in this universe, but death and darkness." Said The Lich with a chuckle.
"Oh yeah well I'm going to kick your bony butt, save the hostages, then lay the smack down on Hexo!" Declared Finn as he got into a battle stance.
"Poor foolish child grasping for hope. You can not win. This place will be your grave along with your friends." Said The Lich as he clenched both of Billy's massive fist and got into a fighting stance.
"This is for Billy!" Shouted Finn as he leaped into the air swinging his sword.
Finn brought his sword down onto The Lich's right shoulder and the blade sunk in through the dead flesh, but stopped, when it hit bone. The Lich just looked at the sword in his shoulder and then at Finn. There wasn't even the slightest bit of pain shown on The Lich's face as he brought back his left arm and punched Finn in the gut sending the hero and his sword flying across the room and into a wall.
"Face it child if your beloved Billy couldn't kill me and you couldn't kill me in the past, there is little chance of that happening now." Said The Lich as he walked towards Finn.
"NO! I I'll not give up! I'm going to beat you!" Shouted Finn as he shot up grabbed his sword and ran at The Lich.
The Lich swung his fist at Finn, but the young hero dodged it and jumped up towards The Litch grabbing Billy's beard he clawed his way up and slammed his fist into the Lich's face several times. The Lich didn't so much as blink, when Finn punched him. The Litch grabbed Finn slammed him into the ground, threw him into the celling, and as he fell The Lich punched him even harder then last time and smashed Finn into a wall.
Finn groaned as he felt every part of his body ache and his vision going all fuzzy. He heard The Lich laugh and approach him. Finn tried to stand, but couldn't get up.
"This looks bad. I don't think I can take much more. I'm...sorry Billy I failed you." Said Finn as he stared at the ground in defeat.
"No Finn, you haven't failed me." Said a voice.
Finn looked up confused to see what appeared to be the real Billy standing before him.
"Billy? Your alive?" Asked Finn.
"Afraid not. Though your heart and your memory called me here to help." Said Billy.
"Am I dreaming?" Asked Finn.
"Sort of. Your fading in and out of unconsciousness, but that doesn't matter. I'm here to tell you that you haven't failed me and that you can sill win." Said Billy.
"How? The Lich is so strong." Said Finn.
"You have the courage and strength of a true hero, but there is a power greater then that, but first we need to get your mind back in order. You've been mainly going after The Lich's face and not his whole body. Your hesitant to hit the parts of the body that were once mine, but I'm now telling it's ok for you to destroy my body parts." Said Billy.
"How do I do that?" Asked Finn.
"Grab a torch and light him up! I always wanted to have a Viking funeral for my body anyway." Said Billy.
"Alright I'll give your old body parts a good old traditional Viking send off." Said Finn his body being filled with a new kind of determination as he stood up.
"So you managed to stand up. That's impressive. I'll reward you with a painful dark end." Said The Lich as he lunged forward at Finn.
Finn dodged out of the way and grabbed one of the wall torches.
"Viking Funeral!" He shouted as he hurled the torch at The Lich.
The Lich let out a startled scream as the dead skin of Billy's caught fire immediately. The evil being was soon lost in a giant pillar of fire.
"Take that you corpse wearing creep!" Shouted Finn.
"Extinguish." Said The Lich's voice and the fire vanished.
Finn saw a skeleton figuring standing in the room before it vanished in a pillar of darkness. The darkness vanished and The Lich stood in its original form stood before Finn. The sight of The Lich was horrifying. The Lich was wearing a helm with curled horns, one of which was broken off, horrific green lights as pupils peering out of it's empty eye sockets, and pale undead skin pulled tight against it's nose-less skull. The monster's skin was frayed away from it's lips revealing a wicked and perpetual grin. The robe it wore was in multiple layers and was large and baggy. It has a large cape that was severely torn at its end. It's arms were bare bones with various decayed tissues.
"It's time I taught you the true meanings of darkness and death." Said The Lich as green fire appeared in his hands. "You will know the true meaning of despair."
"Bring it on!" Shouted Finn as he charged forward.
The Lich fired several fireballs at Finn. The young hero dodged and weaved the attacks as he got closer to The Lich. With a a mighty leap he cleared the last few feet and flew towards The Lich waving his sword. The evil being shot his left hand out and caught the sword. The Lich's hand glowed evilly with green and black fire as Finn's sword shattered! Finn could only stare in horror at his destroyed as The Lich shot his right hand out like a claw and rammed it into Finn's chest! Finn felt The Lich's fingers rip through his shirt and pierce his skin! Finn felt a huge serge of pain go through his body as he dropped what was left of his sword and screamed! The pain was the worse thing Finn had ever experienced! It seemed to go on for a eternity, but in reality it was only a few seconds. The Lich laughed cruelly and threw Finn smashing the young hero into a wall. Blood dripped from Finn's chest.
"So...strong." Muttered Finn.
You are alone, child your defeat was inevitable. There is only darkness for you, and only death for you and your companions. You stood no chance against me or my master. We will go forth and extinguish all light in the universe." Said The Lich as he started walking towards Finn.
Finn vision was going dark, but then he started hearing voices.
"Stay awake Finn. This battle isn't over. You can still win." Said Billy voice.
Finn opened his eyes and saw Billy standing before him with the long gone heroes Leon, James, and Ansem the alchemist standing behind him.
"All you...awesome dead hero guys. How can...I win...The Lich is to strong." Said Finn.
"We understand what your going through. We've all faced powerful enemies who seemed unbeatable." Said Leon.
"Were going to give you some advice that will help you overcome The Lich." Said James.
"What?" Asked Finn.
"You must learn that a true heroes strength comes from his heart not his body. You must think, what is the most important to you and protect it with everything you have." Said Billy.
"The most important thing?" Thought Finn.
"Good luck young one." Said Ansem.
"Remember strength from the heart." Said Billy.
The heroes vanished and Finn found himself still laying on the ground with The Lich approaching him. The Lich stopped for a moment and looked off into space, he then turned back to Finn and chuckled.
"I have a special surprise for you before you die. One of my comrades Despairo is in the process of killing you precious girlfriend. Let us go see." Said The Litch.
The room suddenly became consumed in shadows. Then Finn found himself and The Lich in a room with Despario, who was standing next a large cube covered in despair faces.
"Oh look an audience! Just in time to see little Flame Princess drown and die in a sea of tears!" Laughed Despario as he waved his staff at the cube.
There was the sound of liquid followed by the scream of Flame Princess. Finn tried to stagger to his feet, but fell to the ground. The Lich walked towards Finn.
"Do not worry child you'll both see each other in the afterlife, though it will be a short reunion, once my master puts his plan into action." Sad The Lich.
"I'll...stop you." Said Finn as he managed to get onto his elbows.
"You are strong, child, but I am beyond strength. This is the end, and I have come for you, Finn." Said The Lich as he towered over Finn and reached out one of his hands towards Finn.
Finn's life flashed before his eyes, he thought about all the important people in his life. Like Jake, Bubblegum, Simon, Marceline, BMO, Lady, the pups, and finally Flame Princess. The women he loved was fixing to die and Finn was going to die a little bit after her and according to The Lich there wasn't going to be much of an afterlife once Hexo put his plan into action. It wasn't fair! Finn had finally found a girl his age that he loved and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Finn felt a burning energy deep within him and all the wounds he had healed. A white aura appeared around his body forcing The Lich to stumble back slightly startled.
"Your right Lich this is the end for you! I'm going to save the person I love the most and save everybody!" Roared Finn as he jumped up and delivered a powerful punch to The Litch's chest.
The Lich flew back a few feet with a look of shock and pain in it's eyes, he starred at Finn in complete disbelief. The Lich quickly summoned fireballs to his hands and fired them at Finn. The young hero simply just looked at the onrushing fireballs and punched his right arm forward destroying the fireballs!
"Not possible!" Shouted The Lich in shock.
"It is now!" Shouted Finn as he charged forward and delivered several punches to The Lich's face and body.
Cracks appeared around The Lich's body with every blow. With one mighty punch Finn sent The Lich smashing into a wall and falling to the ground in a heap. Finn made his way towards Despairo. The evil jester took a nervous step back before pulling out his staff and leaping into the air. The head of the staff grew to the size of an elephant and grew spikes on it.
"Time for you to go squish!" Shouted Despairo as he brought his weapon smashing down towards Finn.
Finn brought both his hands up and caught the giant weapon. Despairo let out a startled gasp.
"You used your sick illusions on Flame Princess and hurt her. Then you were going to kill her." Said Finn as he clenched his right and brought it back. "I'M GOING TO MAKE YOU PAY!" He roared as he threw the punch.
Finn's fist smashed through the weapon, flew towards Despairo, and slammed into his gut with tremendous force. Despario went flying back like he was shot through a cannon and smashed right through the cube that was holding Flame Princess. Black liquid poured out along with a weak and unconscious Flame Princess. Finn ran over to her and picked her up.
"It's ok I'm here for you. I love you." Said Finn as he kissed Flame Princess.
Flame Princess started to look healthier as her skin started to glow with gold fire and she slowly opened her eyes.
"Finn? Your alive? But I thought I killed you!" Said Flame Princess as she wrapped her arms around Finn's neck.
"No that creepy jester guy just loves to play with people's emotions by doing sick illusions." Said Finn as he pointed to Despairo, who was trying to crawl away on his hands and knees.
"Oh allow me to pay this creep back!" Said Flame Princess as she stood up by herself and fired a burst of flame at Despario's rear.
The blast hit the jester in the rear sending him flying and screaming into a wall with a crash! Despario fell to the ground in a heap. Finn looked at Flame Princess with amazement.
"I love it when you toast evil's buns." Said Finn.
"Thanks. I love it when you kick evil's rear to." Said Flame Princess.
The two young warriors looked at one another and kissed. They stepped away from one another blushing slightly. The Lich staggered to his feet and let out a roar.
"I DESPISE LOVE! IT SHOWS NOTHING BUT JOY IN LIFE! IT DISGUST ME! IT BRINGS HOPE AND LIFE INTO THE UNIVERSE! MY MASTER AND I WILL WIPE THAT WORTHLESS EMOTION FROM THE UNIVERSE! BUT NOW I WILL KILL YOU BOTH WHERE YOU STAND!" Shouted The Lich as he gathered a huge ball of dark flames that looked like a skull and hurled it at the heroes.
The two heroes starred at the attack in horror. Finn saw his destroyed sword lying on the ground and picked it up. The destroyed blade glowed and reformed. Finn looked at Flame Princess.
"We can beat this attack together." He said with a small smile as he offered Flame Princess his hand.
"Lets do it." Said Flame Princess as she grabbed Finn's hand and formed a flame sword with her free hand.
The two young warriors then ran forward and started to spin at an incredible speed until they formed a tornado of white light and gold flames. The tornado short forward like an arrow piercing the slamming giant black flaming skull and raced towards The Litch. The evil being dodged to the left, but the right side of his body took heavy damage. The Litch fell to the ground with his right arm and the right side of his face missing. The villain glared up at Finn and Flame Princess who had stopped spinning and were no longer glowing.
"It's over Lich gives us back our friends and surrender." Said Finn pointing his sword at the villain.
The Lich shot up to his feet and grabbed the injured Despairo, he then flew up some stairs that were leading up.
"This fight is far from over! We have one last trick up our sleeves! Come if you dare!" Shouted The Lich as he and Dispario vanished up the stairs.
"Lets go and finish this." Said Finn as he and Flame Princess raced up the stairs to continue the battle.
