Chapter 26 Death Rescue

Hexo and his cronies laughed at the heroes and their allies. The heroes glared back at Hexo with looks of defiance on their faces. Finn, Jake, and Flame Princess stood in front of Princess Bubblegum. Simon and Marceline stood in front of Betty. All the heroes were exhausted, but they were going to fight the villains and defend their loved ones.
"So your the big bad were destined to fight." Said Finn.
"I am and your the bug heroes of the Prophecy, who are supposed to beat me. I must say I'm not very impressed. I don't not what Time Master and those other goody ancients saw in you." Said Hexo.
"You been messing with our cool ancient friends?" Demanded Jake.
"I have and I have beaten Time Master, Cosmic Owl, and my pink goody good brother Prismo. They were basically gods in their own right and yet I defeated them. What hope can you possible have against me?" Said Hexo with an evil grin.
"Don't get cocky creep! We can still fight! You haven't beaten us yet!" Declared Finn with a look of determination in his eyes.
"Oh please don't make me laugh! You all look like you can barely stand much less fight! I'm going to finish you all off quickly." Said Hexo as he raised one hand and five orbs of darkness appear on each of his fingers.
Hexo launched the orbs and they each slammed into a hero knocking them to the ground. Betty and Princess Bubblegum screamed. The villains laughed in victory.
"Face it heroes your end is near soon I will destroy you, then your world, and everything else. The universe will be full of nothing, but darkness. Your are alone and weak, there is no one to come to your aid." Said Hexo as he started to gather energy for a bigger orb.
"I beg to differ." Said a new voice.
There was a strange whistling sound and a scythe came flying in and slice off Hexo's left arm and leg making the evil being fall to his side. The scythe twirled through the air and returned to it's owner, who was Death. The scythe turned into a plow as it landed in Death's hand.
"Death!" Spat Hexo.
"Hello Hexo still causing trouble I see." Said Death before turning to the heroes. "The heroes aren't meant to fight and die this day. I've also taken a fondness of these heroes there good people, who helped deal with some evil spirits."
"Why are you interfering with my plans. I'm causing death! You should be happy and siding with me!" Said Hexo as he used his powers to levitate off the ground.
"You see that's where your wrong. The destruction your causing isn't real death, but an out right abomination! In death a person finds rest and ease. A good person can get back together with friends and loved ones, who had passed on before themselves. A bad person faces punishment. On some cases a person can be reincarnated into a new being. That is the true purpose of death. Your destruction destroys a living beings spirit causing unbalance in the universe! You will be stopped by these heroes." Said Death.
"Like I care about balance. Destroy them!" Said Hexo.
The villains charged forward ready to attack. Death slammed his plow into the ground and giant vines shot out and slammed into the villains knocking them to the ground. Death then teleported himself the heroes and their friends out of the fortress.
"Should we go after them?" Asked Treasuro.
"No let them run. Will deal with them soon enough. The time spell on the Universe Destroyer will soon fade away." Said Hexo as he wench slightly. "Curse you Death it will take me a little longer then normal to recover from these injuries, but you have only delayed me just a little bit."
The villains teleported out of the ice fortress and returned to their base.
In the Candy Kingdom Death appeared with the others. The heroes were rushed off to the medical bay to get patched up. Death stood by their side to make sure everything was ok.
"Thanks for saving our bacon." Said Finn.
"Your welcome. You heroes have an important destiny to fulfill. It will be tough, but I have fate that you will succeed. Now I must go and defend the Realm of the Dead. Farewell heroes and good luck." Said Death as he teleported away.
All the heroes looked at one another.
"Come lets heal up guys, we have a villain to and the entire universe to save." Said Finn.
The other heroes nodded in agreement.
