Chapter 137
Giles interrogated Gachnar, promised to keep him alive if he was honest. Gachnar claimed he didn't know who summonned him. Giles believed him, at least for now. Giles wondered if the Watcher's council did this, part of some twisted training ritual to make Buffy stronger by facing her fears. Giles called Quentin Travers. Travers denied this, but Giles wondered if Quentin had his fingers crossed when he said this. Over the next week Giles and Jenny came to view Gachnar almost as a pet. A fear demon might actually be able to give some insight in how to overcome fear. If the council did summon Gachnar, maybe it was a good move after all.
