Chapter 140
On Friday November 2nd Buffy was at the Bronze with Xander, Willow, and Tara. Willow and Tara seemed like they were officially a couple now, so this was kind of a double date. Buffy knew it was important to have these moments while they lasted. As Willow reminded them there was only 216 days until graduation. Then what? Willow seemed like she'd probably chosen her college major back in playgroup. Xander's uncle Rory said he could get him a job in construction. It meant union wages and health insurance, Xander figured he could do worse at 18. Buffy had little idea what she wanted to do. College maybe, but then what? Hence Buffy enjoyed this night. Then Angel showed up at the Bronze. Buffy went over to see what he wanted Xander looked a little jealous, but he said nothing.
Buffy: How'd you know about Gachnar?
Angel: My sources, who wish to remain anonymous.
Buffy: Who summonned him?
Angel: If my sources know, they're not sharing.
Buffy: So you knew I was in danger but not from whom. Giles thinks maybe the Watchers did it to help train me. I'm only going to ask this once, and I want you to be honest. Did you and your friends summon Gachnar?
Angel: No.
Buffy: Okay then. Do you have information for me?
Angel: No, not tonight.
Buffy: So what, you came to check on me?
Then Buffy saw Ms Burkle, her physics teacher, come over to them. It soon became clear that Angel and Ms Burkle were here on a date. So, Angel dated. He'd always seemed stoic and serious, Buffy never imagined him on a date. But for some unknown reason Buffy didn't like this.
