Chapter 141
On Sunday November 4th Riley Finn was still considering who to vote for. His wife Samantha was voting for Romney. Riley's friend Forrest was voting for Obama. Their friend Graham stayed quiet, not wanting to get involved in a political fight. Colonel Mcnamara seemed to have the same philosophy about staying quiet. Riley actually liked Richard Wilkins, he seemed to believe in the same values as Riley. And there was talk that Wilkins was going to expand their unit more than Obama or Romney. Riley had met Samantha in the army. They were eventually assigned to this unit, to monitor certain creatures in Sunnydale. This town had a reputation for hostile sub-terrestials, called monsters by some. Forrest was probably right, they were just animals. More unusual than what Riley grew up with in Iowa, in a different spot on the evolutionary scale. People who couldn't properly identify them simply called them monsters. Colonel Mcnamara was in charge of this unit, the ROTC program helped keep track of potential recruits. But this was a pilot program, so far not much had happenned to justify expanding it. Including Riley, Graham, Forrest, Samantha, and colonel Mcnamara there were only 20 soldiers here. Although a born-again christian Riley hesitated to call these creatures "demons." They were just animals and more soldiers were needed to fight them. Whatever their origins Riley decided to vote for the candidate who wanted to give them more resources, Richard Wilkins.
