Chapter 142

Tuesday November 6th was election day. The three major candidates had done everything they could, although there were a few last minute speeches. Most of their resources were now focused on gettineg their supporters physically to the polls. Obama watched the election results from the white house, Romney and Wilkins both rented hotel suites and ballrooms. Although tensions were high between their supporters, no violence erupted at voting booths. The talking heads all gave their opinions and claimed who would win. Nate Silver, a respected and accurate statician, said this election would be too close to call. Most states weren't called until the following morning. When the dust finally settled one candidate had 40% of the popular vote, and 273 electoral votes. For better or worse the 45th president of the United States of America would be Richard Wilkins.
