Chapter 143
Giles watched Wilkins' victory speech. Wilkins joked about his age. He mentioned how he was allowed to be president because he was living in the colonies when this country was founded. Under the original constitution he could therefore run for president. People in the crowd laughed, Giles wondered if he was speaking the truth. Giles asked his advisor/pet Gachnar for his insight. Gachnar taunted Giles about his fear, but knew little about Wilkins. Giles then gave Gachnar some cookie bits to eat. Giles and Jenny had some arguments about politics. He was somewhat of a traditionalist and a conservative, she was a communist. But they could peacefully disagree, probably because neither of them were in a position to change policy, now they wondered how long that would be allowed. Giles and Jenny had both feared what Wilkins could do as president. He had caused enough problems with spells and a rogue slayer. Now he would be in control of the military, millions of soldiers, and nuclear weapons. This would likely not be good for any of their group.
