Chapter 144

On Friday Novmber 9th Giles held a meeting at the school library after school. Allies were brought here to discuss Wilkins' victory. Willow said there were 72 days until innaguration day. The meeting included Giles, Jenny, Gunn, Xander, Willow, Tara, Jessie, Cordelia, Wesley. Giles would've invited Angel to this meeting, if he knew how to contact him. They all had to be on alert when Wilkins became president. He was an evil sorcerer, God only knew what he could do witht he power of the presidency. They wondered what they could do to stop him. Then they heard an oddly familiar voice say "Nothing." They turned around and saw president-elect Richard Wilkins had walked into the school library with his adoptive daughter Faith. They seemed unsure what to do.

Wilkins: If any of you try anything you should know that I'm invulnerable. Faith is a slayer and will likely kill all of you. Now, as I was saying, I was elected in a fair election. And my invunerability would preclude assasination attemps on your part. Buffy Summers, I don't believe you've met my daghter Faith.

Buffy: Hello.

Faith: Hey.

Giles: Why are you here?

Wilkins: To offer a truce. We need not be enemies.

Buffy: You worship demons.

Wilkins: So? Doesn't the first amendment protect my right to worship as I see fit?

Willow: Were you there when it was written?

Wilkins: Not at the constitutional convention but I was on good terms with some of the founding fathers.

Willow: Cool. Sorry guys but, wow.

Wilkins: So anyway, I can offer you all exciting futures in my administration.

Buffy: What about the potential slayers you had murdered?

Wilkins: I didn't. I believe that Sarah and Dana were manipulated by Caleb. I believe you heard one of his sermons. Caleb is a fanatic, my enemy as well as yours.

Buffy: Okay, I actually half-believe you. But you tried to sacrifice an innocent girl to one of your demon-buddies.

Wilkins: Yes I did, and you slayed an ally of mine. But I'm willing to forgive and forget if you are.

Buffy: No. I'm not Faith. You try to kill innocent people in my town, I will stop you.

Wilkins: Fair enough. But we do have common enemies. Caleb, and others. They seek more destructio than I'm willing to tolerate. We will likely have to work together soon.

Giles: What do you propose?

Wilkins: I get sworn in as president on January 20th, which is not negotiable. If you don't like the policies I initiate, you kids could vote against me in four years. I'm also appointinf Faith as my liason in Sunnydale.

Buffy: What does that mean?

Faith: I'm moving to Sunnydale. I'll help you when we have common enemies. I'm also taking care of dad's business here.

Wilkins: Try to play nice kids. And Buffy, I do hope you re-consider my offer. Same goes for all of you. I like to think we can all be one big happy evil family.
