Chapter 6

"I Don't Believe You!"

"How will I break the news?" This question kept ranting in Ash's mind as he was getting dressed. Dawn was a special girl- no ordinary girl at all. She was the best person he ever met. How could he have the guts to break her heart? But he couldn't tolerate the fact that now he knew Kenny's real colours. How could a person so inconsiderable, so devious, and so stupid mess with an innocent little fragile heart? This was the biggest decision Ash had to make in his life!

"Ash! Are you ready yet? We're gonna be late!" Kenny shouted across the door, knocking.

"Yeah! I'm almost ready! Just give me five minutes, please." Ash said, buttoning his shirt.

"Ok, meanwhile, I'll go check on Dawn."

"Ok" Ash agreed.

Dawn stood up from her makeup counter and looked in the mirror. She truly embraced her beauty. Sometimes, she even considered being obsessed with herself. How can she not? She's beautiful! As she smiled, she grabbed her powder and dabbed a little powder on her nose.

"Perfection! Everything's perfect, especially my hair." Dawn said, brushing her hair.

"Oh, Dawn! Are you ready? It's been forever!" Kenny said, exhausted.

"Yes, Kenny! I'm ready. And it's only been one and a half hour. Most girls take three hours."

"Oh, come on! I wanna see how beautiful you look!" Kenny said, flirting.

Dawn giggled. "Ok, Mr. Flirty-Pants, I'll be right out!"

Dawn came out and Kenny smiled, which made Dawn blush. "So how do I look?" Dawn asked.

Kenny didn't say anything, but instead pushed her against the door. Dawn gasped.

"How dare you call me Mr. Flirty- Pants! And how dare you look more gorgeous than me!" He told her softly. Dawn blushed. "Kenny, stop it. What if Ash sees?"

"So? He'll know that I'm having revenge." He said with an evil grin.

He placed his hands on her hips and pulled her close, kissing her on the lips gently. Dawn gave in by placing her hands on his neck, to deepen it. They let go for air.

"Let's go, beautiful." Kenny winked and told her. Dawn giggled.

This happened right before the precious eyes of Ash. Ok, that was enough! Dawn doesn't know who Kenny really is! He had to tell her, no matter what, even if it would break her heart. But he had to be careful. A girl's heart is very fragile; one crack and it could explode!

"Dawn, wait!" Ash called out to her.

"Oh, there you are, Ash. We were just about to get you. Are you ready?" Dawn asked.

"No. Look, before we go, I need to tell you something. Its really important!" Ash said.

"Oh, well go ahead and tell me." Dawn said.

"In private." He continued.

"Oh". Dawn understood." Kenny, would you give us 5 minutes?" Dawn asked Kenny.

"Sure, but Ash, I hope you're not gonna do anything to her." Kenny joked.

"Oh, trust me I won't!" Ash responded.

"Kay, later!" Kenny had vanished.

"Ok, Dawn, this won't be easy to say, but I'm gonna come right out and say it. But I want you to know, that this is the complete truth and I'm not lying." Ash started.

"Ok. Now say it, trust me, I won't be mad." Dawn smiled.

Ash took a deep breath. "Kenny's cheating on you, Dawn." Ash felt a weight lift off him when he said that. Dawn's reaction was stunned.

"W-what?" Dawn asked, shocked.

"Yes, Dawn. Its true. Kenny's not the kind of person that you see in him. He's a complete jerk!". A tear came out of Dawn's eye.

"Dawn, I'm sorry! I know what you're thinking right now. I get it. This isn't ea-"

"I can't believe this!" Dawn interrupted.

"I know, Dawn. But the truth had to be told. I had to-"

"I can't believe that you're saying all this about Kenny!" Dawn shouted.

"Excuse me?" Ash was confused.

"You filthy liar! You pathetic creep! You'd think I'd just believe everything you say? Kenny is the best thing that ever happened to me! You can't just judge a person in one second, Ash! What's wrong with you?!" Dawn retorted.

"No, Dawn. This is the truth! You have to believe me! I can't tolerate the fact that you're with that guy! He's the person that you came to see all the way from Sinnoh! Its just not right what he's doing to you. He's not the person you see! He's a jerk!" Ash told her again.

That sentence really boiled her blood. She raised her hand and slapped him across the face. The force was so loud, that even her fingers were tingling.

"HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT?! Don't you dare say anything about Kenny! You idiot! I can't believe you would have the guts to tell me that to my face!"

"But Dawn-" Ash tried to explain again.

"Oh, shut up, Ash! I should have known that you were gonna do this. You're trying to break me and Kenny up! Well, I'll tell you this- we're never gonna break up! Ever!" She told him.

"No, Dawn you have it all wrong!" Ash said.

"Stay away from me Ash! I never wanna see your face again!" Dawn told him and walked away, furious. Ash was left there, with is hand on his face trying to sooth the pain.
