He's the One

Chapter 8

A night to remember?...Or Forget?

"I can't believe that Ash! How dare he accuse my boyfriend?" Dawn said to herself in the room, looking in the mirror. Even her reflection of her beauty didn't make her feel better. Dawn sighed, took off her makeup and jewellery and went straight to Kenny.

"Kenny! Hey, can I talk to you?" She asked.

"Sure, babe! Where's your clothes? I thought you were ready!" Kenny said to her.

"I was…but I decided to not go. I'm…I'm not feeling too well." She lied.

"Really? Oh my…what happened?" Kenny asked.

"That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about. I wanna ask you something. It's important." Dawn said.

"Ok. Go right ahead. What is it?" Kenny eagerly waited.

"Uhh..well…you know how some people act like jerks when they're in a relationship, right?" Dawn began. Kenny flinched.

"Uhhh…yeah…I guess so!" Kenny said, scratching his head.

"Yeah, I mean they would just go and cheat on another girl, not thinking about the other girl's sensitive feelings! Some guys are just so inconsiderate!" Dawn continued.

"Yeah, they suure are!" Kenny agreed, sweating a little through his shirt. Does she know?

"So, yeah, you wouldn't do anything like that, would you? Would you break my heart?" Dawn asked.

"Oh, Dawn, why don't you just say that you don't trust me? That you wanna break up with me? Oh, you hate me don't you?" Kenny told her, cleverly.

"What? No, Kenny! It's not that! You're very sweet, Kenny! I know you wouldn't do anything like that to me. You're my boyfriend! Of course I trust you!" Dawn tried to convince him.

"Oh, then why all these silly questions, Dawn? You never ask these kinds of questions. Who put false assumptions in your head?" Kenny asked.

"Ash did!" Dawn plainly told him. Kenny gasped. "And he's wrong! I mean, how dare he accuse you? He doesn't even know you!".

"Yeah, he doesn't! Don't listen to him, Dawn! He doesn't know what he's talking about!" Kenny covered himself. How did Ash find out? Thank goodness Dawn believes me! Though I better deal with Ash though.

"I know! I trust you, Kenny! And more importantly…I'm never ever gonna forgive Ash! He doesn't deserve to be forgiven for doing something like that!" Dawn said.

"Oh, c'mon, Dawn! I'm sure that it was a misunderstanding! Guys always have misunderstandings! You can't stay mad at him forever! After all, he's your friend." Kenny said.

"No he's not! He's just some random person in my life. He's nothing special to me. He could die tomorrow, heck if I care!" Dawn claimed. Dawn was so furious with Ash she didn't realize what she was losing.

"Ok. It's up to you, really, but I still suggest that you forgive Ash. It's an honest mistake."

"Kenny, please! I don't want to talk about this anymore! Just please!" She begged.

"Ok, fine. Anything for you. Now, are you sure you don't wanna go out tonight?" Kenny asked again.

"Yeah. I'm sure." Dawn said.

"Ok. I'll see u later!" Kenny said, kissing her on her cheek.

Ash kept walking around his room, deeply thinking and pondering. Ash couldn't focus. All he could think of was Dawn. He wasn't even upset that Dawn had shouted on him. All he cared was about Dawn's feelings. How can he convince her that Kenny IS cheating on her? Dawn thinks that Kenny's the one, when really love is blind. It seems that Dawn wasn't gonna believe him unless he brought proof. But how?

"Ash! Open the door!" Kenny knocked.

Ash hesitated but a second knock convinced him to open the door handle.

"Kenny. What's up?" Ash asked plainly.

"I think we both know the situation. Word on the street is that you know I'm cheating on Dawn." Kenny said, circling around him.

"How did you know? Who told you?" Ash asked, curiuos.

"My sweet little angel did. Unfortunately, for you, she believed me! Ouch! That's gotta hurt you!" Kenny boasted, with a somewhat evil grin.

"Why are you doing this to Dawn? What did she ever do to you?" Ash asked.

"That's for me to know and for you to never find out." Kenny said. "Now, let's get straight to the point. You know my secret. And you already exposed it. I'll give you a hook off, just because she didn't believe you. So you're lucky." Kenny threatened.

"What do you want Kenny?" Ash asked.

"Nothing great! I just don't want you to rat on me again. Or she might actually believe you. And I can't let that happen. Or else…" Kenny continued to threaten him.

"Or what? Do you actually think I'm afraid of you Kenny? You know, Dawn might not believe me now, but trust me, she will! She thinks you're the most amazing guy ever, but once she finds out the truth, its over for you. She doesn't deserve someone as demeaning and pathetic like you!" Ash said to him.

"No, she's never gonna find out the truth, because, if you tell her and she believes you, then I'll make sure that you never see Dawn again! And I know how much you like Dawn!" Kenny said.

Ash flinched. "W-what? N-no! We're just friends. Just friends." Ash justified.

"Sure. Deny it all you want! But, mark my words! Because, again, I WILL make you never see Dawn again."

Ash just stared at Kenny while saying that. Dawn meant so much to him, but was it worth letting Dawn live a cruel lie? Was he willing to make that sacrifice?

"I'll leave you with that! Later, Ketchum!" And Kenny backed out of the room.

Ash sighed. "What should I do?"

Dawn was sitting in her room, sewing a pillow for Kenny. It marked the words, "My True Love". Dawn smiled as she saw those words. Kenny was certainly the best thing that ever happened to her. Nothing could change that! She set the pillow down on the bed, staring at it. "My true Love." Love is a strong word. And she was happy that she had such an amazing guy like Kenny, who was always there for her, no matter what the situation was.

There was a knock on the door. She got up, eager to answer, hoping it was Kenny. She opened the door to find…

"Hello! Oh, man! I have the wrong room! I'm so sorry!"

The voice came from a tall, redhead girl. She had a white blouse on with black jeans and her hair was cut to look somewhat tomboyish. Her voice was raspy, but was sweet in her tone.

"Oh, that's ok! Who are you looking for?" Dawn asked.

"I'm looking for a person named Kenny. He's supposed to be in this hotel. Do you happen to know where he is?" The girl asked.

"Yeah, sure! He's right next door!" She pointed towards the direction. "By the way, you look kinda familiar…Do I know you?" Dawn asked.

"Let's find out! I'm Zoey!" She said, offering her hand. Dawn gasped.

"No way! I do know you! I saw you with Kenny the other day!" Dawn smiled.

"Yeah, now that you mention it, I think I know you too! You're Dawn! OMG! It is so nice to meet you!" Zoey said, happily.

"Yeah, it is! I was hoping to meet you that same day, but unfortunately, for some reason, Kenny didn't introduce me to you." Dawn said.

"Yeah, same with me. Oh, well, we're meeting now!" Zoey laughed.

"Yeah!" Dawn chuckled. "You know, it's strange. I thought that Kenny was cheating on me that other day." Zoey gasped.

"What do you mean, CHEATING on you? Kenny is MY boyfriend." Zoey said. Dawn was confused.

"No, he's MY boyfriend. He always has been." Both girls gasped when they realized what was going on.

"Oh my gosh! Kenny IS cheating on me!" Dawn said, heartbroken.

Well, that's the end of the chapter! Hope you enjoyed it!
