Chapter 9

Realizations in You- A real Friend

She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Were her ears playing tricks on her? Tears came out of her eyes, letting a pool of tears fall on the floor. Noisy sobs came out as she expressed her depression and disappointment.

The boy, whom Dawn thought was the love of her life, who she travelled across the country especially to see him, the person who she deeply trusted for at least four months, the person whom she considered as "the one" caused a black hole in her heart. Zoey, too, was extremely upset and couldn't express how upset, confused, and depressed she was.

"I can't believe this! That-that egomaniac!" Zoey blurted out. Dawn looked up to her. "Yeah! I can't believe I thought that two time cheater, idiotic, crazy, ugly, old, BAT was my true love! Ughhh I am soo angry!" Dawn said, forming her fingers into a fist.

Dawn continued crying until Zoey said," You know what? Lets deal with this situation in a different way!". Dawn was confused.

"What do you mean?" Dawn asked.

"I mean, instead of crying our brains out, which isn't going to solve anything, lets be real mature and get revenge!". Zoey insisted. Dawn gave it a thought, scratching her head. She smiled.

"Yeah! We should get revenge! And I have the perfect plan! After this, Kenny won't know who he messed with!" Dawn said.

"Ok let's hear it!" Zoey said, eagerly.

As Dawn told them about her devious plan, Zoey smiled and completely agreed on everything. Her plan was apparently fool proof and there was no way that Kenny would ever take advantage of these girls ever again, or with any girl at all. After all, he deserved it for doing so wrong with these girls.

"Great! I can't wait! Let's go!" said Zoey. But before they went Dawn realized something.

Dawn hadn't realized, that in the event of raging against Kenny, she had hurt someone special-Ash! Dawn gasped. She realized that Ash was absolutely right and she didn't believe one word in what he said. Instead, she felt guilty about raising her voice on him. She realized that Ash was the one who was trying to protect her. He was the one who truly cared for her and was always there to support and guide her. She felt guilty and ashamed of herself. Hurting Kenny to get revenge could be done later, but, what she had to right now, most importantly, was to apologize to Ash.

"Wait, Zoey! Before we go…I just remembered. I have to do something important." She told Zoey.

"Sure, Dawn. Take all the time you need!" Zoey said, smiling.

"Oh man, what am I gonna do? If I tell Dawn the truth, Kenny will take her away from me, but if I don't then Dawn will continue to live a lie. This would be so much easier if Dawn just believes me." Ash said to no one in particular, sighing.

"There's only one way! If I can't get Dawn in front of the truth, I'll get the truth in front of Dawn." Ash said to himself.

"There's no need, Ash!" Ash gasped and turned around.

"Dawn?" Ash asked, to make sure she was actually there.

Dawn came in to make her appearance more believable. "Yes, Ash, it's me." Dawn smiled at him.

"I thought you were mad at me." Ash began.

"The truth is, that you should be mad at me. I can't believe you're still talking to me, even after what I said to you. Didn't that hurt you, Ash?" Dawn asked.

"Of course not, Dawn. I knew that you didn't mean it. You just said it out of anger. Everyone does." Ash said, smiling at her.

"I'm really sorry Ash! For everything!" Dawn broke into tears. Seeing this, Ash pulled her into a hug. Dawn gasped, but still continued to cry.

"Ash, I-I never realized that Kenny was such a pest! I can't believe that I wasted my time with him! But most importantly, I can't even look at myself in the mirror for what I did to you." Dawn continued.

"Dawn, it's ok. Really, it's-" Ash interrupted.

"No, Ash! Its not ok! I hurt you! I feel really guilty! You were trying to protect me and what did I do? I didn't believe you! I thought you were an annoying, useless person in my life. But now, I realize, that YOU are my friend. You're the one that truly cares about me. You're amazing, Ash! And I doubted you, I'm soo sorry, Ash!" Dawn said.

Ash let go of the hug and said," Are you done?" Ash said, annoyed.

"No, I'll never be! I just feel really bad and I-" Dawn continued.

"Dawn! I forgive you. I didn't feel bad that day! Really!" Ash said.

"Shut up, Ash! I know you did! You got so mad that day when I accidentally spilled coffee on you. Of course you would have gotten mad then!" Dawn said.

"All I was thinking about was protecting you. That's all! I forgive you, Dawn. I promise you, everything is ok!" Ash said, putting a hand on her shoulder. Dawn noticed this. "Really?" Dawn asked. All Ash did was smile and nod.

Dawn wiped her tears and looked up again, smiling at him. She looked into his eyes, those brown eyes which made her smile even more.

"Dawn, are you ok? Aren't you mad at Kenny?" Ash asked.

"Yes, more than ever! I'm gonna give him a piece of my mind!" Dawn told Ash. "Are you with me?" Dawn offered her hand.

Ash took his hand in hers and said, "I'm always with you, Dawn. No matter what." Dawn smiled

Well, that's it! Hope you enjoyed it and sorry it was kinda short! I had absolutely no idea what I should have typed, but uh anyways…^_^

BTW, any suggestions for next chapter? I totally have no idea what to put in nxt! Plse help me! I'm really desperate. LOL
