CHAPTER 3

"Oi Sting! I think I like that blond girl. You see, her boobs are one of the kinds. Hahahaha."

"Shut up, you pervert"

"Yahh! I'm not a pervert. I just like them. You know."

At home, (Ryana's POV)

I went to the basement and switched on the light. The light that came from the bulb lighted throughout the room. This room was my great-grandmother's oldest library ever that consisted of the history of the vampires. It was filled with magic and darkness. No one ever wanted to come down here as the darkness of this room brought. Only the selected people can come here, and that was my sister, Lucy and I. I roamed throughout this room as I was looking for something. As I searched around, I found this book. The book that had everything I needed to kill a pureblood vampire. 'Just you wait, damn vampires. I will kill you, especially that bastard Sting. '

I opened and looked through carefully page by page and I find the exact thing that I needed. "A pureblood vampire is the strongest and powerful vampire ever existed. It is known that pureblood vampire cannot be killed by a simple method but enquired a very difficult spell that only a powerful hunter can use that spell. If its use for a wrong deed, that spell would cause you to dead in an instant. No one ever can use the spell, except Jude and Layla Heartfilia, the most powerful hunters on their league. The spell can only be used when the three conditions are fulfilled. The first condition is able to perform self-healing instantly to reduce the pain as the spell also caused damage to the caster. The second condition is the caster must have a strong physical and mental body as this spell is very strong and dangerous. Lastly, this spell only can be activated if the caster has no any hesitation or regret when killing the vampire using this spell. If not, the spell will never can be used by the caster for eternity. That is the curse of the forbidden spell."

"This is what I need to kill those bastards. Why do I never hear of it? Hurmmmm…" While I was talking to myself, Lucy came inside the library and suddenly she took the book away from me.

"Lucy! What are you doing here? Give me back the book." as I tried to get the book back from her.

"NO! You are not supposed to know about this forbidden spell, Ryana."

"Why? This is the only way to kill them."

"This spell can kill you. Mom and Dad never want you to know about it and use it recklessly, Ryana. This is for your sake."

"Huh?! How do you know this spell, Lucy?"

"Mom and Dad told it to me so that I can prevent you from knowing about it."

"Why? Why should I be the only one not knowing about it? Tell me."

"I'm not supposed to tell you about it. I promised them I would, but I think this is the time you should know. You are already grown up. To tell the truth, I had been keeping this secret for five years already. It was all happened on the day our parent killed the King of Vampire Clan, King Draglife."

Flashback

"Lucy, my daughter, please comes here for a while." Lucy's mother, Layla, called out for her daughter

"What it is, mother?" said a little 12-years-old Lucy.

"Firstly you must promise me you will never tell this to Ryana. Promise me?" said Layla while looking at Lucy's eyes.

"Okay mother. I will keep this promise." said Lucy while looking straight to her mother's eyes.

"There is something I want you to know and this secret could change your life entirely. Do you still remember your grandmother, Mavis, dear?"

"Yeah, I still remembers Grandma Mavis, mother."

"Then, do you remember who it is your grandfather?"

"Ahhhh… I don't know, mother. I can't remember. Do I even have one?"

"This is what I want to tell you. Before that, please do not be afraid when you listen to this. Okay, dear." said Layla while holding her daughter's hands tightly. "The truth is your grandfather is one of the royal pureblood vampires, which are the third child of the former king. His name is Cyrus Dreyar or also known as Bob Layson."

"Mother, you are not joking are you?" said Lucy, as she was totally shocked hearing about her real grandfather's identity. She felt liked it was a dream. Her mother is a dhampir, half-vampire and half-hunter.

"I'm not joking Lucy. This is the truth I want to say before I gone forever. I want you to know your real identity. You and Ryana are dhampir, the same as me. Although you only inherited one quarter of the vampire's power in your body, but still it is very powerful. As you reach your eighteen birthdays, the power within you will submerge and that time you will experience your full power as a dhampir. During that time, I want you and Ryana to go to Wisdom Mother Valley near the east of Clover Town. At there, you will meet Laxus Dreyar, your uncle as in my older brother. He is also a dhampir, but he inherited almost full power as a pureblood vampire. He will helps you during the time you develops to be full dhampir. Promise me you will keep this from Ryana, if she know about it, you know what will happen. She will not keep quiet about this matter." suddenly Layla's breath became uncontrollable. As if she was fighting to breathe.

As in cue, Layla was gone forever, leaving behind her only twin daughters to survive in this harsh world. Layla's gone had made both of them as an orphan, as their father, Jude Heartfilia, was dead because of death virus caused by the vampire's clan that any person infected with this virus, percentage of them to be survived is zero. As for Layla, even though she came contact with the deathly virus, her body was immune to it due to the vampire's blood in her body. She died due to the internal organs damaged in her body after she used the forbidden spell to kill King Draglife. She only lives up to five days after the incident.

End of flashback

(Normal P.O.V)

"It is all true Lucy?" Layla's head was down looking at the cold floor after hearing the truth from Lucy. She never knew that she inherited vampire's power within her body. It was too much for her to take in.

"Yes, it is Ryana. I had said all what mother had told me. This is the truth. I know you must have felt the power within you." said Lucy while looking at Ryana. She knew that by telling her all of it will caused her lose control of it. For her whole life she had been hating vampires for killing both our parent, leaving us as an orphan.

"You also said that by the time we reach eighteen, our full power will submerge and we will fully develop as a dhampir. It is?" asked Layla while looking straight at Lucy.

"Yes, and by that time we must leave."

"Then, we only have 4 days before our birthdays. We should move now."

"Are sure you okay, Ryana?" asked Lucy, disbelief that Ryana accepted it so easily.

"Yeah, I'm okay. Although I'm really mad about it, but there is nothing I can do. It is because I could feel the change occurs within my body, especially my eyes. You see, my eyes will changes colour to red occasionally and sometimes I feel so thirsty, but no matter how many water I drinks, it's never satisfied."

Lucy was shocked hearing that, she never knew Ryana already experienced it so early. Even herself, she still not reached that level.

"By midnight, we will start the journey. It will take at least two days to reach Wisdom Mother Valley." said Ryana while walking out from the library. "Lucy, thank you."

"Ryana, I'm so sorry for hiding the truth. I'm so sorry for leaving you alone and suffered all by yourself." as she cried alone in the library that became the witness of everything.

At Ryana's room

"Mo…m mom, it is true? It is true? Am I a dhampir? Am I really a dhampir? No, no, no." as Ryana crying and crying again while holding to her mother's picture. Her tears were like a stormy stream, so fast and painful. Suddenly she felt a pain at her throat, she was thirsty and only blood can satisfied her. She was afraid. She doesn't want this.

Vampire's castle, north of Clover Town

"Sting, we need to move now. It's been two days already since the fight with them. The coronation is getting near now." as Natsu said while eating his spicy chicken.

"I know it already, but where should we search for them?"

"By smell, you know how they smell anyway right?"

"Yeah, I know."

Then, Natsu leaved Sting alone in the dining room as he getting more his food.

'Ryana, I remembered her. Her smell is so addictive.' The smell of lavender and mint lingered his nose as he thought of her. 'I miss her.' There is something about her that made him want to cage her up, made her lose control with him. 'She belongs only to me.' as he hissed through his teeth. His fangs can be seen as he thirsty of her.
