Chapter 16

Losing Love Again? Part 3

"What do you mean Dawn's missing, Ash?!" Zoey asked. Misty gasped. She took the phone from her.

"Ash, you lost Dawn?! How could you be so careless?" Misty asked.

"Look, I can explain. I was just in the bathroom and when I came out she was gone. Please come over here as fast as you can." Ash told her.

"We'll be right there." Misty said as she hung up the phone. "Let's go guys!"

"Ok!" Brock and Zoey said in unison.

"Uhh, where are you taking me?" Dawn said as she was being dragged to a place. She was being dragged against her will and she had no idea where she was going. The person grabbing Dawn's hand was the familiar "purple haired dude" that she had seen in the restaurant. Dawn gasped. She had completely forgotten about Ash. He must be so tensed and worried about her.

"Quiet, you. There's someone who wants to meet you." The purple haired dude said.

"Well, why didn't you just bring him or her to me? Why did you have to drag me here?" She asked.

Before he could answer, she was taken into the somewhat familiar airport. "W-Why am I at the airport? What are you up to? And just who are you?" She asked, waiting for his reply.

"The name's Paul. I've brought you here because someone wants to see you. I think if you'd look over there, you'd recognize the person." Paul pointed to the right side of Dawn. Dawn turned around, but because of the constant traffic of people, she couldn't see the person. When the crowd finally cleared up, she recognized the person almost instantly. Her face frowned as she realized who it was.

"Kenny." She thought.

"This is pointless. How are we going to find her here by looking randomly everywhere in Unova? The city's so big that you wouldn't even find a big dog here." Brock said, as he was following the group, looking for Dawn.

"Well, we have to try. We've got no other choice here. But I think she got kidnapped." Ash said, worriedly. "I'm so worried."

"Don't worry, Ash. We'll find her. I'm positive. Why don't we call the police?" Misty suggested.

"No, Misty." Ash said.

"Why not?" Zoey asked. "The police can be a big help to us."

"Because, Zoey, this is my fault. I wanna do this myself. "

"But Ash!" Brock said.

"No, Brock. I'll find her. I just hope wherever she is, she's fine and out of danger." Ash said, looking up in the night sky.

"Kenny, what are you doing here? After all what happened, you still haven't learned your lesson?" Dawn practically barked at him.

"Dawn, I know I was wrong. No, I was stupid and a jerk. And I'm sorry for everything, Dawn."

"Sorry? You think a simple sorry can just fix everything? Do you even realize how much you hurt me, Kenny? What I did to you, wasn't even a mere inch of what you did to me. I can't believe you had the guts to face me." She told him.

"I know, Dawn. Which is why, I'm here, apologizing. Look, I realize that even after that day, I love you." Kenny said. Dawn's eyes widened.

"W-What?" Dawn asked, blinking twice.

Kenny took Dawn's hands in his, to which Dawn retorted, but placed it in his hands firmly. "Yes, Dawn. I completely love you with all my heart. I wanna make things right. I promise you that I'll never hurt you in my life again. I cross my heart." Kenny tried to assure her. Dawn was speechless.

"But what about-" She was cut off.

"Look, forget about Ash. He's just a friend. I'm the one you truly love, Dawn. " Kenny said.

"No, Kenny!" She said as she took out her hand from his. "Ash is the one I love and I always will. You-you were a mistake." She pointed. "Who do you think you are? You think you can just fix this? Never, Kenny. If you think that I'll go back with you after what you did to me, then you are so wrong." She told him.

"Plus, Ash has done everything that you haven't. Ash was even better to me as a friend that you were even my boyfriend. He's the one that always protected me and I'm grateful to him for that. Why would I leave him, to go to you?" Dawn asked.

"Because you love me too." Kenny said.

Dawn scoffed. "Please, Kenny. Try something else." Dawn averted her eyes.

Ash and the group were still searching, in every bit, in every alley, in every street and anywhere possible, in hoping to find Dawn. They were practically breathless.

"I-I'm taking 5." Brock said.

"Yeah, me too." Misty said as she sat down on a bench.

"What? What are you guys doing? You're sitting down at a time like this? How can you?" Ash asked, sweaty.

"Relax, Ash. We're just taking a break." Zoey said.

"We can't take a break! Did you guys forget that Dawn is MISSING? We have to find her! She could be anywhere, who knows what state's she in and you guys are sitting down, like the selfish people you are!" Ash yelled at them.

"Ash, calm down! We WILL find her. And we're not selfish, Ash. We're helping you." Misty said.

"If you guys really want to help, you'd get yourselves off from that chair, and march with me and look for Dawn!" Ash said.

"Ash, please! We've looked almost everywhere. We're not a tracking device system." Zoey.

"Hah! That's just like you. To give up. I knew you guys would do this to me." Ash said. Ash had a fix of anger and sadness in his eye. Brock came up and gave him a friendly hug. Ash refused to take it in, but after a few seconds, he couldn't help let loose.

"It's ok. We know you're stressed. But I promise you that she'll be fine, wherever she is." Brock tried to assure him. Ash took a deep breath.

"Ok. You're right. I'm sorry, guys. I'm just really worried." Ash apologized.

"We know, Ash. And no worries." Misty said.

Suddenly, a random beeping sound came from Ash's phone. Ash pulled it out and saw the text. It was from an unknown number.

If you wanna find your GF, she's at the airport.

Ash simply smiled at this statement. "Guys, Dawn's at the airport!" The others cheered.

"Well, what are we doing here, let's go!" Zoey said.

"Hey, Ash, who was the text from?" Brock asked.

"No idea. But we found Dawn. That's what's important."

"You are so pathetic, Kenny. You think I'm weak, don't you. I'm not one of those cry-babies that cries after you break up with them. I'm strong. I'm not going back with you Kenny. If I do, I'm really dumb and want to ruin my life." She told him.

"Dawn, you'll regret doing this." Kenny told her.

"No, No I won't. I know I'm doing the right thing." Dawn said. Kenny was speechless. He tried something else to convince her.

"Come on, guys hurry!" Ash told the group as they ran across the airport. They kept running until they saw Paul.

"You! I knew you took Dawn away. Where is she?" Ash asked. Paul chuckled.

"Why is he laughing? Where's Dawn?" Misty asked.

"Ash, is it? Dawn was never yours in the first place." Paul said.

"What? Shut up and tell me where Dawn is!" Ash screamed.

"Ok, but don't cry when you see this." Ash was confused. "Look over there." Kenny pointed. Ash turned his eyes towards where he saw Dawn and lit up like a lamp, but frowned again to realize that his heart was broken into pieces. There she was, Dawn and Kenny, kissing.

Could things get any worse?
