Chapter 159

Buffy and Faith were patrolling on Saturday night. Giles told them about the vessel, whoever he was would have a symbol on his forehead. If they could dust the vampire with that symbol the harvest would be stopped. Then Buffy saw a text message from Willow, vampires were attacking the Bronze. They rushed over. Buffy wondered how she could've missed this. The harvest required a lot of deaths, ofcourse they would attack a place densly populated. When they got to the Bronze Buffy and Faith looked for a way to sneak in. Then Angel arrived.

Angel: I came to warn you.

Buffy: Yeah, the harvest. We're working on it.

Angel: I'm actually here about something else.

Buffy: Is it about a danger tonight?

Angel: No.

Buffy: Then one thing at a time. Help us stop these vampires or people will die, right now.

Angel: Okay. What's the plan?

Faith: We sneak in. I dust the main vampire. You two get civilians out. Kill any vampires who get in your way.

Angel: Got it.

The three of them snuck in. By this point Luke had killed five victims, even a mother and her child. Their bodies were prominemtly displayed on the stage, a reminder to the crowd what their fate would soon be. Luke preached about their glorious sacrifice, yet noone volunteered. Faith tried sneaking up on Luke. That failed and they soon began fighting. While they fought Luke's minions were distracted by the fight. Buffy and Angel dusted a few while Xander, Willow, and Jessie helped the civilians escape. Luke and Faith's fight seemed to be a draw. Luke had killed every opponent for the last 150 years. But none of his opponents were slayers. They wrestled for the stake. Luke believed killing the slayer would give his Master great strength. But as they fought Faith quickly jammed the stake into Luke's heart. Luke crumbled into dust within seconds. Faith was hurt. Luke was probably the strongest vampire she'd ever fought. But in the end, she was the one still standing. The other vampires fled. Their plan failed so they quickly retreated. All but one vampire. Buffy's joy quickly turned to shock by what she saw. Something that emerged within Angel during the fight, his inner demon. Buffy didn't notice this during the fight, or maybe she didn't want to notice. But there was no denying this now. Angel was a vampire.
