Chapter 17
I've always Chosen You
Ash stood there, shocked, and couldn't believe what he was seeing. He clenched his fists and slightly growled. After what he did for Dawn, how could she do this? How could she go back with him after she knew his true colours? Misty held a hand on his shoulder, in attempt to comfort him. Ash just simply took it off and Misty gasped. "Let's go." He said, depressed.
"But Ash!" Zoey was interrupted.
"No! Let's go! I don't wanna see this." He said, tearing up a little.
Zoey and Misty stared at him while he had his head down, depressed, slowly walking from the airport.
"Poor Ash.." Misty said.
"How could Dawn do this?" Zoey asked. "After all what Ash did for her, how could she betray him?"
"I know right? How dare she?! She obviously didn't care for Ash! Or his feelings! And to think…I helped her!" She said, slowly getting angry.
Zoey sighed, "Let's go." Misty agreed.
Dawn's eyes widened as Kenny was kissing her. Within no more of a mere minute, she violently pushed him back, as he fell onto the ground. She felt neither mercy nor any guilt. Kenny stared at her when he realized what she had done. He got up and dusted himself, while Dawn just looked at him disgustedly.
"Dawn, why are you being like this?" Kenny asked.
Words couldn't describe how enraged she was. Her blood was boiling every second when Kenny had forced himself on her. She lifted her hand and soon enough, a loud slap echoed at the airport. Kenny held a hand on his cheek, attempting to soothe the pain. Dawn, still enraged, walked out the airport, grumbling to herself as she left the airport.
Kenny smirked as he walked up to the "purple haired dude" known as Paul.
"Ohh, she really got you didn't she?" Paul chuckled.
"No matter. Were they here to see this?" Kenny asked.
"Yeah. The poor kid looked devastated. I love it!" Paul smirked.
"Good job, Paul. If I can't have Dawn, then no one can!" Kenny gave an evil grin. They both laughed in delight.
A depressed and rather broken-hearted Ash lay on the bed, pondering on a certain someone. He just couldn't comprehend the fact that Kenny had won Dawn over. Could it be possible that it was over for him? How can Dawn make the same mistake twice, by believing his words again? He tossed over his bed as he continued to think some more. Just then his thought were interrupted by the repetitive sound of a doorbell.
"Come in." Ash said. Misty had appeared.
"Hey. Are you feeling alright?" Misty asked, noticing his condition.
"I guess so. " Ash sighed.
"Ash, forget about Dawn! You don't need her." Misty said. Ash got up hearing that statement.
"Misty, I can't ever forget about Dawn. It's impossible. She's the one that gave me pure happiness. She's the one I look forward to talking to every day. She's my life, Misty." Ash told her.
"But what about today, Ash? She hurt you. And after what we did for her!" Misty exclaimed in frustration.
"That's what I'm trying to understand. I – I have a feeling that this might be a misunderstanding. Well, at least, I hope." Ash said.
"Well, I don't know about that. Truthfully, it's unbelievable that she could ever hurt you. But that kiss seemed so real and convincing that I don't understand a single thing here!" Misty said.
"There's only one way to find out. I'll ask her as soon as she reaches here." Ash said.
"Yeah." Misty agreed.
Within a mere second, Ash saw Dawn standing near the doorstep, looking at him with concern. He urged to hug her with all delight, but something held him back inside. Instead he just looked at the floor to avoid eye contact with her. Dawn lifted her eyebrow as she saw this.
"Ash! I'm sure you got worried, but I can explain what happened." Dawn started as she sat down.
"Explain what, Dawn? That you're back with Kenny?" Misty added.
"What? No! Why would you say something like that, Misty?" Dawn asked.
"Because we saw you kissing him!" Ash spoke out. Dawn's eyes widened.
"No, no. I know it seems like that. But allow me to explain everything, please. What you saw was a complete misunderstanding. Why would I go back to Kenny? There is no possibility." Dawn said, holding a hand to her heart.
"Ok. We're all ears." Ash said. Dawn gave a gentle smile.
"Do you remember that guy with purple hair?" Ash nodded. "Well, I had my suspicions ever since I saw him staring at me. He dragged me to the airport against my will, where Kenny was waiting. He insisted that I get back together with him, but I refused. He even claimed that he loved me, but even then I refused. Then, he forcibly kissed me, hoping that I would give in. But there was no spark, not now and not ever, Ash. I couldn't bear it afterwards and then I slapped him. Trust me, Ash. I would never do that to you. "She explained. She hoped that somehow she would believe her.
"Do you believe me, Ash?" Dawn asked. He looked at her with concern. He then smirked.
"Does this answer your question?" Ash said as he pressed his lips against hers. Dawn's eyes widened at his reaction, but slowly drooped down as she gave in. They let go to find both of them blushing a crimson red; not to mention a surprised Misty as she covered her mouth in shock.
"Woah.." Misty uttered. "That was beautiful!" Misty squealed.
Ash then directed his eyes at her to the door, indicating her to leave. "Oh, I see. Some alone time?" Misty teased.
"Misty!" Dawn whined. Misty giggled as she left.
Now that there was complete silence, Ash stared at Dawn, making her blush. She then took her hand in his and started to speak.
"Ash, I want you to know that no matter what happens, I'll always choose you. Remember that, Ash. Don't think that your coffee spiller can ever cheat on you." Ash chuckled hearing that sentence.
"I won't. It was my mistake that I interpreted you to be that bad. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry." Ash said, stroking her hair.
"Ash, it's ok! But I'm worried about something." Dawn said, looking down.
"What?" Ash asked.
"Kenny." Dawn replied. "After all this, you'd think that Kenny would leave me alone. But he hasn't. He's definitely planning something to win me back."
"Yeah. Hey you know what? I have an idea." Ash asked.
Misty happily walked across the halls when she saw a familiar face. She rubbed her eyes to see who it was and when she saw him approaching closer, she quickly hid behind the wall. She gasped as she realized who it was.
"Is that Kenny? What's he doing here?" Misty thought to herself.
Well, that's it. Sorry for making it short.
Well, in about one or two chapters left, this story will come to an ending- a happy ending to be exact. Also, there have been suggestions for a sequel on this. I'm asking you guys. Do you want a sequel? I might take into consideration.
Also, in other news, I cannot update for about two or three weeks because of….SUMMER SCHOOL…yes the devil is eating me alive! D: But I can't do anything about it, so I'm really sorry.
So for this chapter, please review and let me know your thoughts. See you next time! :D
