Chapter 20
It had only taken ten minuets to drive to arrive at the club. At first Klaus and Caroline were shocked at the club because Abby said it was a secret but when they parked outside of a normal club that had a line of people, it was not what they expected. They parked the car and as they walked inside the club, Abby nodded to the bouncer and he nodded back as he let them walk straight in. They assumed that the bouncer must have been a vampire or a human who must know about the supernatural. They walked through the club of healthy looking humans getting drunk, until they got to the back where they went through another door. As they crossed the door they walked downstairs and when they opened the next door they saw a crowd of vampires all drinking blood from cups like the humans were doing with the alcohol upstairs. Of course the blood was mixed in with alcohol to give it a little extra flavour. The vampires were enjoying themselves but Caroline and Klaus' main priority was to find the vampire and to extract information.
The three of them walked up to the bar and as the bartender was mixing drinks he glanced over to them and said "hey, Abby. I didn't expect to see you here tonight".
Abby gave him a smile and said "hey, John. I wasn't but I have some friends that want to talk to Aaron".
John had pale white skin, blue eyes and brown hair. He stood like he had order and authority over everyone who entered the bar and he pretty much had since he was the owner and the creator of the theme. Klaus could sense that John was an old vampire and estimated her was around 700 to 800 years old. John placed the drink down in front of the customer and then walked close towards Abby, while still being on the other side of the bar. He looked between Klaus and Caroline and then held his hand out to both of them "names Jonathan but everyone calls me John" they both shook his hand and he said "rules are your not allowed to drink from the people upstairs or bring any humans downstairs. Pay for your drinks and no fights. Think you can follow that?"
They both nodded and Klaus just smirked as he admired the man for his bravery but he knew that he didn't know who he was talking to. Abby then said "so have you seen Aaron?"
John looked around for a moment then said "I think I saw him near the tables near the back a few minuets ago. Best bet is to look there".
"Thanks" Abby then walked away and Klaus and Caroline followed her.
They moved towards the back and saw a few poker tables and Abby looked directly at where she was looking but then she pointed Aaron out. They both looked to see a tanned man with black hair and brown eyes. Abby and Klaus both looked at Klaus and he smirked and nodded towards the table where there was a spare seat. Klaus took Caroline's hand and walked over to the table while Abby stayed near the bar and watched.
As Klaus stood in front of the table he said "mind if I join" without permission from the rest he sat down and he pulled Caroline onto his lap.
The men around the table smirked and one to Klaus' left said "if you don't mind on losing" Klaus gave him a look that said he wouldn't "okay, £100 on the table now".
Klaus put his hand in his pocket then drew a wallet of money out that was more than £2000 but then Caroline took a £100 and placed it in the centre of the table. Everyone around the table smiled and some of them checked Caroline out and Klaus noticed this and had to restrain himself from tearing out their hearts and he tightened his grip on Caroline. Caroline felt his grip tighten and placed her hand on top of his as the cards were being shared out.
As Klaus gathered his cards he didn't care about the cards but more about the man sat across from him and the information he had. For the first few minuets Klaus played the game and went onto simple conversation with them but then he looked at Aaron and said "so, I heard an interesting fact. You went to Mystic Falls recently, what happened?"
Aaron shrugged and said "just some stuff that's all" he smirked to his other players.
Klaus said "let me elaborate. Tell me or else I will rip out your heart" the other players just stared at Klaus and gave him an awkward look as he had just turned a fun game into something serious. Aaron slowly grabbed the bottom of his chair and Klaus noticed that he was about to break it and attempt to stake him but Klaus then said "I wouldn't think about it. One, that stake wont do anything and two, I would have ripped your heart out by the time you even consider it".
The music went off and all the vampires in the club slowly looked towards the table as they all heard the argument about to start. Klaus smirked but then Caroline stood off his lap and stood behind the chair as he was still sat down. John saw what was happening and walked over and stood at the side of the table in the centre and said "hey, you know the rules" he said looking at Aaron and then looked at Klaus "and you, I know your new but if you have a problem, solve it outside".
Aaron placed his cards down in front of him and then crossed his arms. He looked between Caroline and Klaus and said "I don't believe I caught your names?"
"We didn't give them" Caroline snapped.
Abby then walked up and stood next to Caroline and said quietly "you didn't think you could solve this peacefully".
Klaus' smirk got bigger and Caroline said "we will do anything to protect her". After a moment Abby nodded as she knew what it was like for a mother wanting to protect her daughter.
"Abby, you know these people?" Aaron said.
Abby looked at him and said "so what if I do? Listen; just tell them everything they want know".
Aaron looked to Klaus and said "John and I are the oldest vampires in this joint as he was turned just before me. I don't tell anyone, I don't know, my business and you really think you can take me on".
Klaus gave a cheeky grin and said "for a vampire so old you are very unwise".
"And whys that?" he asked cockily.
"Perhaps we should introduce ourselves. Her name is Caroline" he gestured to Caroline "and I'm Klaus".
Nearly the entire vampires in the room flinched at the name and as soon as Klaus said it Aaron straightened up "you're the original hybrid".
"Yes and all of you in here are decedents of my family's bloodline, so show some respect. Give me the information I want".
"Wh-wh-what do you want to know?" Aaron said nervously.
"Tell us everything you discovered during your time in Mystic Falls".
"I went and I found out that as everyone knows the werewolves are changing on will. I found out that each of them has a special stone each and it allows them to change. Its powerful magic and rarely ever seen and witches from all over are coming to work with her".
"Who's her?" Caroline said.
"The leader. She's powerful, more powerful than any other witch I have ever seen".
Klaus slammed his fist on the table and stood up slightly and it made Aaron and some others jump "I need a name".
"No you don't, you already know her" Klaus narrowed his eyes "she's the original witch".
Klaus froze to the spot and clenched his fists as Abby whispered "Esther".
Caroline knew how determined Esther could be and that her mission was to destroy everything she created a thousand years ago. That included all the happiness that Klaus ever had. It scared her as she feared for the life of her family. As Caroline saw Klaus clench his fists, she moved towards him and put a hand on the top of his arm and said quietly "Nik".
He turned his head to look into her eyes and he saw fear. He hated when that appeared in her eyes as he felt like he had failed her and that he couldn't protect her from the evils of the world. He had faced Esther before but this time he had more to lose. They were his strength in everyway but when someone knew how to get to him they became his one and only weakness. He knew that Esther would attack them first to hurt him, to destroy the good he had, to shatter his heart. He had to protect more than ever his daughter and his Caroline.
AN: Sorry for not updating but I have been focusing more on my Forgotten Original story. Please review and tell me what you think. I can start updating more now because I have officially left high school now. I have to go in on Monday for an hour to do my final exam but other than that I NEVER have to step foot inside of it again. It actually made me cry I don't actually want to leave my friends.
