Chapter 22

They all woke up early the next day they went back to New Orleans. They had said goodbye to Chloe and wished her all the best and of course Chloe said that if she was needed then all they had to do was call. Bonnie rung her mother that day, to say that they were leaving but as her father and mother said goodbye, Liz wouldn't listen to any of them and wouldn't talk to Caroline. Abby had told her that if she didn't talk to her, she would regret it for the rest of her life and it would drive their relationship to none existence. Caroline was immortal and Liz was mortal, they both knew that they didn't have long together but they were both stubborn. Neither wanted to back down from their views and in the end, Caroline had got on the plane and left London behind.

They arrived back to New Orleans later that day and instantly, Klaus told Marcel and Elijah that he wanted the security to be increased, not only around the house but at the boarders of the French quarter. Caroline and Bonnie had started spending a lot more time with Kiara, so that she could learn more defensive magic and Caroline didn't want to leave her daughter alone. They were all told about Henrik and how Kiara could see him and they all knew that he was there watching her as they sometimes caught Kiara staring at an empty spot.

Two days after they came back from London, Klaus had a secret meeting with Elijah, Rebekah, Stefan, Matt, Marcel, Cami and Bonnie. He had already informed Bonnie what it was about and they decided that they couldn't do it until they informed the others. They both knew how Caroline would react so they didn't tell her, and they both knew that Caroline was spending some time at the park with Kiara, and being heavily guarded, so they decided to take to opportunity to tell the others.

They all sat in the living room and after a few minuets of silence, Elijah said "brother, why have you gathered us here?"

Klaus sighed then said "I want to break vampires from my bloodline".

They all didn't know how to respond until Stefan said "is that possible? I mean we are only vampires because we are connected to your bloodline".

"It's possible and you will stay vampires" Bonnie said "all I need is everyone's blood that is going to be separated and Klaus has to give me his blood willing and also know what it is used for".

Rebekah said while looking at Bonnie "you knew he was going to do this".

"I did. He came to me the day we got back from London and I already knew the spell in the past because when I found out about the connection I began searching. I didn't mention anything in the past because I knew Klaus wouldn't give up his blood".

Elijah said "why all of a sudden brother?"

Klaus shook his head as if he didn't know why and then after a few moments of silence, Cami said "it's obvious. Its Caroline, he doesn't want her to die".

"She will never be harmed" Elijah promised.

"You don't know that, Elijah" Klaus said and stood up from his seat and began to pace "you know how far mother will go to kill us, to kill me, she hates me. The last time, we were mere moment's away from being killed due to her connecting us all. Do you not remember Finn dying?"

"Of course I do" Elijah stood from his seat.

Klaus walked close towards Elijah "then you know that I can't let Caroline die. Mother will try to kill me and I won't leave Kiara without her mother".

"But you'll leave her without her father" Rebekah said as she stood next to Elijah "your giving up".

"I never said that" Klaus sneered "I will fight to survive like I always have but I have weaknesses this time and you both know that mother will use them against me, to get to me. I will never give up, I am just taking precautions".

Elijah and Rebekah both looked down as they both knew what Klaus said about weaknesses were true. Marcel ran both his hands over his face then stood and said "what do you want us to do?"

Klaus smirked as he knew he could relay on Marcel "Matt, Stefan, Caroline, Cami and yourself are all apart of my bloodline, so we will need your blood. I need you, Marcellus, to get blood from the vampires in the inner circle and from a handful of other vampires. Only those who you trust completely and are loyal, do you understand?"

Marcel nodded and said "got it".

"We are doing to spell today so I need everything prepared soon and you can't tell anyone what the real purpose is".

"I'll get the blood right away" after a few moments they all left to prepare for the day but Stefan stayed behind with Klaus.

Stefan ran a hand through his hair as he stood in front of Klaus and said "she's not going to like this".

"Why do you think I did this meeting while she wasn't here".

Stefan nodded but then sighed "have you even thought about how you are going to get her blood?"

Klaus opened and closed his mouth a couple of times before he said "I haven't thought of that yet but I am hoping that she will understand my reasons for it".

"Well good luck" Stefan said before he walked away.

4 hours later, Caroline had long been back from the park and was with Kiara in her room, while everyone else was downstairs and Bonnie was preparing for the spell. Marcel and Cami then came through the door with a couple of vials of blood in his hand and as he handed them to Bonnie, he looked at Klaus and said "I got everyone in the inner circle and ten other guys who I trust. I also put mine and Cami's blood in there".

Klaus nodded and Bonnie placed all the vials of blood into a goblet and Matt and Stefan stepped forwards and Bonnie cut their palms and let the blood flow into the goblet. Bonnie then looked at Klaus and said "all we need is her blood".

They called for Caroline and they all heard her shout up to Kiara and say that she would be back in a moment. As she walked into the room, she saw that Elijah, Rebekah, Matt, Stefan, Marcel, Cami, Bonnie and Klaus were all stood nervously looking at her. Caroline saw Bonnie with her Grimoire in front of her and a goblet full of blood. Caroline glanced at everyone then her eyes ended on Klaus "what's going on?"

Klaus walked towards her and said "Bonnie has found a spell so that you all can be unconnected to my bloodline. I need your blood".

Caroline shook her head and let out a small laugh "this is some joke right". Klaus gave her a serious look and then she said "No".

"You have to-"

"I said no. I already told you, Nik, I won't leave you".

He walked closer and took both of her hands into his and said quietly "I can't let you get hurt. You know what my mother is capable of and she will know about you and Kiara".

Caroline moved her hands out of his and placed them on either side of his face and leaned as close as possible. Klaus placed both his hands on her wrists as she said "we're together. I don't care if we are together in this life or the next as long as we are together" they placed their foreheads together, then she said quietly "you've wormed your way so deep into my heart, that if you ever died, I think I would be just an empty shell of the person I am now, and I don't think I could handle that".

They both leaned forward and slowly kissed and as they pulled away, Caroline still had her eyes closed "I'm sorry" Caroline smiled as she felt she won but then it disappeared when he said "but this is the only way".

Caroline opened her eyes and she immediately knew what Klaus was about to do when she saw his eyes turn gold. She tried to move away quickly but Klaus managed to grab her wrist and he bit into it. She screamed slightly as he began to suck her blood and continued to try to pull away. Klaus wanted to pull away the second her heard her scream as this wasn't like the time they blood shared. This time, he was bringing her pain and in turn it caused him pain. She managed to eventually pull away and he walked towards Bonnie, who handed him a vial, and he let the blood flow out of his mouth and into the vial.

Everyone in the room looked at Caroline with worry due to the werewolf venom and they looked at Klaus with astonishment. None of them ever thought that Klaus would go as far as to bite Caroline just to get her blood. They thought that she would eventually give in but they all knew how desperate Klaus was, and deep inside knew the lengths he would go to protect her.

After Klaus handed Bonnie the vial and she poured it into the goblet, he looked back to Caroline to see that she held her wrist where he had bit and she had tears in her eyes. He took a step forward and said "sweetheart".

But she just shook her head and took a step back before she said sternly "I don't want to see you or even talk to you. Stay the hell away from me" she then whooshed off and left Klaus regretting how he handled the situation.

He knew that's he could have got her blood another way but Caroline was a stubborn women and he knew it would take time, time he didn't have to convince her of his reasons. He ran a hand through his hair angrily but then as he looked to the others he said to Bonnie "do the spell now" she nodded and then began to cast the spell.

AN: As I said in the chapter before, I am having some writers block issues but I hope this chapter turned out alright. Also, I forgot to warn people that I am on an NCS course for the next few weeks so I will be a bit busy. I hope to finish this story soon, please review
