Chapter 27

As soon as Henrik left, the boy was stood near the cage but he didn't say anything. The boy had pale skin, dark brown hair and blue eyes. He just stared at Kiara for a few moments and it started to creep her out. She eventually said "what do you want?"

"I-I-I" the boy stuttered. Kiara gave him a genuine smile as she thought he was funny but then he smiled back at her. He moved closer to the cage and as he touched it, he held his hand out, which had the cup of water.

Kiara looked at it questionably then looked back at him "why are you being nice to me?"

The boy shrugged and said "why shouldn't I?"

Kiara glanced around and then said "everyone else here seems not to like me".

The boy sighed and said "well I make up my own mind" he gestured to the cup with his spare hand "please; you've been here for a while and haven't drank anything". Kiara looked at the cup and then took it. After she took the first sip, the entire condense was nearly gone as she didn't realise she was that thirsty. When she passed the cup back, every drop was gone. He sat down on the ground in front of the cage and placed the cup in front of him as he said "I'll get you some more later".

"Why are you helping me?"

The boy looked down and started picking the grass for a moment "I don't know" he then looked up "I guess I just wanted to meet the person, the entire camp is talking about".

Kiara looked down sadly and said "they're going to kill me" the boy gave her a sympathetic look "what are you doing here? I mean in Mystic Falls".

The boy looked guilty for a moment then said "my father and I were moving home, when we were kidnapped by some witches that work for Esther. My father, Nathan, is a powerful warlock and Esther wants him to work for her but he refused and said that he only works for nature. Esther tried to hurt him, to force, to work for her but he stood his ground...but then she came after me. She said that she would kill me if he didn't and so he is 'helping' her".

"It's not your fault" they looked into each others eyes and she moved a hand out of the cage and it was just long enough to reach his, which was on his lap "its Esther's. Your father loves you, that's why he's here. He doesn't want to lose you" the boy gave her a little smile.

"I'm Lucas" the boy said.

"I'm Kiara-Abigail" she moved her hand into a shaking position and he shook it.

"You have a beautiful name" she let go of his hand and blushed slightly "you don't look like a monster" a flash of hurt crossed her face "I didn't mean it like that. Around the camp that's what they are saying but to me your not".

"I thought they might be saying something like that" she pulled up her legs so they were tight on her chest and she placed her head on her knees.

"Why are you here? Why do they want to kill you?" Lucas asked curiously.

"You don't know?" he shook his head "I'm the daughter of Niklaus Mikaelson" he had a confused look "some people know him as Klaus".

Lucas was shocked and he said "the original hybrid" she nodded.

Lucas moved back nervously and Kiara said "I'm not going to hurt you; you don't have to be scared..."

Lucas looked at her questionably but then gave her a small smile and moved back to where he was sat before "I thought he was a vampire, how can he have kids?"

"He's also part werewolf, remember. His werewolf side allows him to have a child, that's why Esther wants to kill me".

"Because you're his daughter" he said confused.

"Esther is...she's his mother".

Lucas was shocked to say the very least "That would make you her granddaughter. Why would she want to kill you?"

"Because I'm part vampire, part werewolf and part witch. I'm strong enough to destroy the vampire race but I won't do it. That's what Esther wants me to do. Because I won't do it, she wants to kill me, so that she can get my magic and destroy my family and other vampires".

Lucas gasped and said "she can't kill an entire race".

"She's tried before and she nearly did it. If it wasn't for my Auntie Bonnie, my family would have died, I wouldn't have been born and the vampire race would be gone...my Uncle Finn died because of that and all the vampires in his bloodline".

"I'm sorry...your family will come for you".

"I know" she said confidently but then said quietly "that's the problem. I don't want anyone to get hurt. I don't care if Esther hurts me; I just care about everyone else".

"That makes two of us" Kiara looked him in his blue eyes and could see sadness "I heard stories about Esther and how evil she is...I don't know what she wants my father to do but I've been telling him to run and let my fait pass. Now I know what she is planning, I can't let my father help her".

"Lucas, you know what will happen if you try to stop Esther and you can't stop what's happening, she'll just get another witch".

He shook his head and said "she won't. She needs my father and no one else, she already said that. I can't let my father help her kill thousands of people".

"I promise you, Lucas, you and your dad will make it out of here safe. I won't let anyone hurt you".

They both smiled at each other as Lucas really believed what she said was the truth but before either of them could talk, someone said with a feminine voice "isn't this cute" they both looked behind Lucas to see Hayley and Tyler. Lucas stood up and took a protective stand in front of Kiara as Tyler and Hayley walked closer. When they stopped, they noticed that Hayley had an apple in her hand and threw it towards the cage. As it went through the cage, Kiara was able to use her magic inside and stopped it in the air so it wouldn't hit her. She smirked at Hayley and Lucas glanced back and smiled at her.

Tyler looked at Lucas and said "go back to your father and I won't tell Esther you were here".

Lucas glared at them as if trying to hurt them "you know you can't use magic on us because we have theses" Hayley picked up her necklace and Kiara could see that it had a weird black stone "now do as Tyler said".

Lucas said demandingly "she's done nothing wrong, leave her alone".

"We tried to be nice, leave now or I'll make you" Tyler said.

"Lucas" he looked behind him to see Kiara "just go. I don't want you to get hurt". He stayed looking at her for a few more moments, before she sent him a smile and a nod and he finally walked away.

Kiara let the apple fall into her hand and placed it onto the floor. She was glaring at them as Tyler said "she looks just like him, it makes me sick".

"I take that as a compliment" Kiara said with a smirk and her dimples came out. Tyler's eyes flashed gold for a moment and Hayley grabbed his hand to stop him from doing anything "are you still upset that Caroline is my mummy and she loves my daddy?" Tyler growled "I take that as a yes" she said cheekily.

Tyler got his hand out of Hayley's and walked towards the cage. When he was near it, he slammed his hand against it and sneered "are you upset that you're going to die in a few hours?"

Kiara was shocked as it was only a few hours away but she tried to hide it. She stood up and said "are you? My family will come for me and kill all of you. If I die they will kill you, either way, you are dead".

Tyler looked away from Kiara and backed up, back towards Hayley. Hayley then said to Kiara "you relay so much on family, yet your own grandmother wants to kill you".

"She may be blood but she is not my family. Family is there for you, whether they are blood or not. Clearly you don't know the meaning of it".

Hayley smirked and said "says the girl who got abandoned by her mother".

"She was never my mother" Kiara said sternly.

"Then who was she?"

"In the words of my real mummy, she is a wereslut".

Hayley laughed slightly and said "Caroline always did hate me, from the second I entered Mystic Falls. I would've loved the see the look on her face, when she found out that I had a kid with the man she so called loves". Kiara gasped "you finally got it".

"You're Hayley" Hayley nodded with a smirk. Kiara looked her up and down and the way she acted with Tyler "my mummy was right about you".

Hayley growled and said "I have made many mistakes in my life, me being a werewolf is proof of that, but the worst mistake I ever made, is me being with that monster and not killing the one inside of me when I found out that I was pregnant. I should have killed you when I had the chance. By the end of this; you won't have no one, let alone you mother and father".

Hayley walked away from the cage with Tyler but just before they got out of view, Kiara shouted "my mummy and daddy are going to kill you" she then sat back down in her cage and brought the pillow back up to her chest. She was breathing heavy and was silently wishing that this nightmare would be over soon.
