There's a knock at my door.
"Come have breakfast with me before school." Vlad voice carries through my door. "It's about time we have something other than soundless dinners."
I open the door. "Why does it matter? I'm just a orphan girl, that you probably won't keep long."
"Maybe if you tried you would stay longer than a few months in one place."
We go to the dining room where Vlad has already set up a big breakfast. I grab some food and start eating it soundlessly.
"Tell me about school, or your friends."
"You don't like my friends."
He takes a moment. "They have made you break my few rules."
"I was only late a few times. I like them, it's going suck when I leave."
"Do you want to leave?" He takes a bite of food. As I don't know what to say I also eat some more food.
We sit for a moment eating. Breaking the silence, he says, "Why don't we both make more of an effort to get to know each other? We could go have dinner with Daniel and his family." I don't say anything. He continues, "I'll text you if you need to be here sooner so we can make their dinner."
I still don't say anything. After eating I head off to school. As I get closer to the school, I realize that I will see Tucker for the first time since I kissed him. My heart starts to go. I'm trying to relax when a hand lands on my shoulder. I lose it. When I look to see who put their hand on my shoulder, I'm facing Tucker.
"Sorry I didn't mean to scare you." Tucker says. I lead him into the ally nearby, so that no one would see me change back. I wrap my arms around him, knowing it must be weird to have someone you can't see hugging you.
Eventually I feel his arms wrap around me so I assume I've returned to color. Tucker and I walk the rest of the way to school, just making it on time. At lunch we hang with Danny and Sam as usual. Suddenly Danny's ghost sense goes off. He ignores it because it hasn't been working recently, but a ghost burst trough the wall. From what they have told me I recognize him as Skulker. Students scatter.
Danny fights him, I try to help along with Tucker and Sam, without getting my heart beating too fast. Skulker leads Danny outside and up to the roof of the building.
So, the three of us make our way to the roof to help. Everything happens so fast, one second we are close to having him beat, the next I'm flung off the roof. I can feel the air whooshing past me.
