Chapter 30

The fight had ended quickly and many people were injured but would soon heal and with the help of Klaus' blood for the vampires that were bitten. They were now at the compound in Kiara's room, waiting for her to wake up. When they found her on the battlefield, they were all worried but Bonnie told them that it was just a side effect of using a powerful spell and that she would heal. They took her home and Caroline and Klaus had been in her room since they got back.

Lucas was in another room and Elijah was watching him and his father. It had been two hours since they had returned and neither Lucas nor Kiara were awake. They had allowed Lucas and his father to enter the compound, when they had discovered what Lucas had done for Kiara and how Nathan told Klaus about the necklaces at the beginning of the battle. Lucas began to stir and Elijah moved from his place at the door frame and walked towards the boy. He sat by his side, like his father, and said "Lucas, can you open your eyes for me?" Lucas' eyes began to flutter open but as he began to sit up, he got a shooting pain in his chest "be careful" Lucas looked down at his chest and lifted up his shirt to see a red line "you took a dagger wound, my niece healed you but it will take time. I'm Elijah".

"I'm Lucas".

Elijah smiled and said "it's an honour, Lucas, and I would like to thank you for what you did for my niece".

Lucas was still unclear but he quickly said "where's Kiara? Is she okay?"

Elijah and Nathan glanced at each other and Nathan placed a hand on Lucas' shoulder and said "Lucas, we need you to be calm. Kiara hasn't woken up yet".

"What do you mean?" Lucas asked nervously.

Elijah said "Kiara did a very powerful spell to help save everyone and destroy someone evil. The spell took a toll on her and she collapsed".

"Where is she? I want to see her" Lucas began to move off of the bed but they could tell by his face that it brought him pain.

Nathan said "Lucas, lay back down, you need to heal".

"No, dad, I have to see her" Nathan and Elijah looked at each other and Elijah nodded.

In Kiara's room, Klaus was sat on a chair near Kiara's bed, while Caroline was sat on the bed with Kiara leaning on her chest, with her wolf as she was singing her a lullaby. Klaus had his fist clenched on the arm chair as he was angry and he only wanted his little girl to open her eyes. Caroline was brushing Kiara's hair out of her face and she had tears in her eyes. She tried to focus and believe that Kiara was just asleep but every time she glanced down at Kiara's pink hand, which was covered with Luca's washed off blood; she quickly remembered what her daughter went through.

There was a knock on the door and after a moment Elijah entered. Caroline stopped singing as Elijah walked towards them and when he stood next to Klaus he said "the boy is outside. He is quite persistent, he wants to see her".

Klaus glanced at Caroline and she nodded and he then said "send him in" Elijah nodded and he walked back to the door and walked outside.

A second later, Lucas walked in alone and the door closed behind him. He see's Kiara and walks towards her without recognising Klaus or Caroline. Klaus and Caroline were both shocked as the boy walked towards their daughter and only focused on her, even though they could tell that he was in pain. As Lucas got close to the bed, he stopped walking and looked between Klaus and Caroline "will she be okay?"

Klaus said "she'll be fine; she's strong" Klaus gestured to the bed and said "you can sit down".

Lucas struggle to sit on the bed but wanted to do it by himself and turned Klaus away when he offered to help. As he sat down, he placed a hand on top of Kiara's and Caroline smiled. "Shouldn't you be resting?" Caroline asked.

Lucas could only stare at Kiara as he said "my dad said I should but I had to see her".

Klaus and Caroline both noticed the way that Lucas was looking at Kiara and it made them both nervous. Caroline asked "have you met Kiara before the camp?"

He shook his head "why?"

"No reason" Caroline and Klaus both shared a look.

Lucas was focusing completely on Kiara when he glanced down at his hand that was on hers as he felt it more. After a moment, he saw her fingers move and he said "Kiara" he then looked at Caroline and Klaus "she moved".

They all looked at Kiara and Caroline said "Kiara, sweetie, open your eyes".

Kiara moaned and they all smiled and Klaus said "come on, princess. Time to wake up".

"Please, Kiara, wake up" Lucas said.

Kiara move slightly and her eyes then began to flutter open and when they did, she said "mummy, daddy...Lucas".

Caroline pulled him up and into her chest and hugged her. Klaus joined them and Lucas decided not to interrupt the family moment and just smiled. Kiara giggle in Caroline's chest as Klaus wrapped his arms around them and she said "Daddy, can't breathe".

"Don't care" Klaus said but then after a few moments he moved away.

Caroline still had hold of Kiara and she said "mummy". Caroline rolled her eyes and moved her arms so Kiara could move "is everyone okay?"

"You did it, princess, you saved everyone" Klaus said "you even saved your new friend".

Klaus glanced at Lucas and Kiara immediately jumped away from Caroline and crawled towards Lucas. They hugged but then Lucas groaned and she pulled away "sorry, are you okay?"

"I'm fine, it just hurts a little".

"I'm sorry; I said I would protect you".

Lucas shook his head and said "it isn't your job".

"But you got hurt because of me".

"No, I got hurt because of me. It was my chose to stop the vampire, not yours".

The next day, Klaus had a meeting with the fractions about what happened the day before and what actions he wanted to take against the people who ran. Nathan and Lucas had stayed the night and everyone noticed that the only time that Lucas and Kiara weren't together, was in their sleep. The meeting began and Caroline had joined him but they were missing Marcel and no matter how many times they called him, he wasn't answering. They all wanted to get the meeting over quickly due to recent events and the humans started off first "has the threat been eliminated?"

Father Kieran rolled his eyes and said "forget about that. Is Kiara okay?"

Caroline and Klaus smiled and she said "she's fine. Got a new friend that she never leaves but fine".

They all then saw Kiara running on the balcony above but she was using her speed and they hear Lucas shout "that's unfair, you used tribrid speed".

"Not my fault. It's natural".

"So is this" he held out his hand and said a spell to manipulate the water in the air and a small amount of water flew on her.

She shouted "I'm going to get you".

They both then ran off and in the courtyard, father Kieran laughed and said "looks like, she's having fun".

The front door then opened and Klaus stood up immediately. Marcel walked in and Klaus said "you're late".

Marcel held up his hands for a moment then said "I know I know but something happened" Klaus narrowed his eyes in curiosity "come in".

The door then opened again and Cami walked in with a now alive Davina. Most of the people in the room were shocked and started to whisper and Caroline walked up to Klaus and said "who's she?"

"That is Davina".

"The harvest girl" Klaus nodded.

Davina and Cami now stood next to Marcel and Klaus said "good to have you back, Davina".

Davina smiled and said "about time to. Marcel told me it's been seven years. I didn't expect to be dead for that long. Do you guys know how I'm back?"

Klaus was as confused as she was but then Elijah said, while walking towards them "when our mother died, she must have been the one to keep the harvest open. She must have used the harvest to come back and in return it kept you asleep. Is everyone awake?"

Davina nods and said "that's what I came here to talk about. Marcel told me about what Sophie did after the harvest failed and I wanted to tell you that after we all came back, Sophie came and took Monique and they both left New Orleans".

"Are you sure?" Klaus asked.

She nodded and said "positively".

Klaus was in thought for a few moments then Marcel said "do you want us to go after her?"

"No" Caroline answered and Klaus shot her a look "think about it. She'll be expecting you to go after her, so she'll keep on running and always looking over her back. What's the point of chasing her if she's scared for the rest of her life? Let her live in fear".

They were all shocked at what she said and Klaus smirked and said "I think you are starting to become evil, my love" he wrapped an arm around her waist.

She rolled her eyes and said "if I was becoming evil, I would go after her and rip her heart out and her nieces for wanting to kill our daughter. This way I am letting her live her life".

Klaus looked back to Marcel and said "we're going with Caroline's way but let everyone know that if she steps one inch inside of the quarter, to kill her immediately". Klaus then glanced to the rest of the fractions and they all nodded in agreement with his decision.
