Spike and Conner went to "Willy's place." Willy was a local businessman, a bit sleazy but he could usually provide the goods for those with the money. He provided Spike with blood stolen from the local bloodbank. This was a good way for Spike to lay low, especially with the slayer and her apprentice going on their rampage. As Conner helped Spike load the blood into the car Angel snuck up on Spike and violently grabbed him.
Angel: Stay away from him.
Spike: He's a grown boy.
Conner: Let him go.
Spike: He's a vampire, and a bad influence.
Conner: That's not your decision to make, dad.
Angel: So he told you.
Conner: So it's true, you're my father.
Angel: Yes Conner. I'm sorry I wasn't here. You're mother and I, we knew we couldn't raise you.
Conner: Tell me the whole truth, how does Holtz figure into this?
Angel: Holts was a vampire hunter in the 18th century. He probably killed more vampires than any other non-slayer. Holtz tried to kill me and Darla, so we murdered his wife and chldren. Holtz spent the next decade trying to kill us, than he just dissapeared. We always thought he died. Than, 15 years ago, he came back. I don't know what dark magicks brought Daniel Holtz more than two centuries into the future. By this point Darla was pregnant with you. And no, I don't know how we were able to concieve you. After she gave birth to you Darla gave you to Holtz.
Conner: Why would she give me to your enemy?
Angel: Vampires aren't capable of that kind of love, the kind a child needs. Making sure you were safe, that was as much love as Darla was capable of. Holtz took you, protected you. And he killed Darla.
Conner: That's not what Spike says. He says my mother, and his girlfriend, are trapped. We can save them, bring them back. Than you, me, mom, we can all be a family.
Angel: He's lying. Your mother is gone Conner.
Conner: We'll see about that.
Angel: Spike, if anything happens to my son, you're dust.
Spike: If I can't get Drusilla back, you're dust. Nice to see you again.
