AN-No one has pointed it out, so maybe no one noticed.. So in naming the twins Kate and Emma I just love those 2 names and I went with it. Plus they are both 4 letters kind of Twinsy yeah? But I totally spaced Jesus's girlfriend Emma.. Totally not the same person. I thought about going back to change it but… usually in high school you know more than one person with a certain name. For me it's Jen's. I am have 6 friends with the name Jennifer.. So I left it! It's realistic J. Just wanted you guys to know it's not the same Emma. So 7 days from now we are all going to be pretty happy huh? My goal is to update every day until it comes out! A count down so to speak. That being said some entries maybe be a little shorter they may not though it's hard to say! At this point if you have any ideas feel free to shoot them to me and I'll see if they can be worked in! Happy Monday! Happy 7day count down!
Lena came down the stairs into the kitchen to find most of her family still gathered there picking at plates of food and just chatting with each other. The only two were missing were Jesus and Stef.
"Callie, go get your shoes on please" She said to her daughter as she looked at her mother. "I know you just got here.."
"I am here for a few days Lena" Dana said as if she knew what her daughter was going to say next. "Whatever you need. I am here. This is more than just a visit with my baby. However I would love a visit with my baby."
Lena smiled and nodded her mother was trying so hard to keep the peace between the two of them She appreciated this, and knew her mother must have been rattled by the shooting. If it were her in her mother's shoes she would have been too. "I just found out there is a funeral this afternoon for twins at the school. Emma and Kate."
Mariana let out a gasp "Funerals are happening already?"
"Yes baby" Lena said giving her a sad smile before turning back to her mother. "Jesus and I are going for sure." She tapped Callie on the shoulder who was just sitting there pushing a strawberry around her plate. "Callie. Go. Get. Your. Shoes. Please" She said slowly as she pointed to the stairs.
"What time is the funeral?" Brandon asked as he got up to rinse out his hot cocoa mug.
"One" Lena smiled "Callie" She tapped her "Honey, I am really on edge right now. Please don't push me. Go get your shoes."
"I don't want to go." Callie crossed her arms over her chest "I've decided I am done talking about my feelings to you or anyone."
"You don't have a choice" Lena pointed "You're going."
"I want to go to the funeral mama" Mariana spoke up "I was friends with Kate and Emma too."
Brandon nodded "Me too, I spent a lot of time with Jesus and Emma over the years. I want to go too."
"I want to go too" Jude piped up "I didn't know them super well, but I can tell it's important to Jesus."
Lena nodded "Alright, anyone who wants to come needs to be ready to leave the house by 12:30"
Stef entered the back door and glanced at the clock "Lena, Callie loves we have to go."
Lena pointed to Callie "Your daughter won't go get her shoes on."
Stef nodded with a smile "Ah yes my daughter. That means my child is being stubborn. I always know when I get a your kid.. They are being stubborn. I don't understand this? I am not stubborn" She said with a smirk while going over to Callie.
"Yeah. Never" Sharon scoffed "Says the girl who was two and half weeks late coming into this world because she was too stubborn to come on her due date."
"I guess I was cozy" Stef laughed as she tapped Callie's arm "Go on, go get your shoes."
"I don't want to go."
"I am sorry" Stef nodded "I really am. Counseling isn't anything to be ashamed of Callie. It's just wellness for the brain."
"I don't want to go" Callie said again "I don't want to talk anymore."
"Honey, you need to go. You've got a lot going through your mind right now. It's good to get out. She can help you."
"Callie" Lena shook her head "Go. Get your shoes."
"Fine" Callie slipped of the stool "You can make me go, but you can't make me talk"
Lena shook her head as she watched her slip out of the room "She's going to make this difficult isn't she?"
Stef shrugged "She'll be fine once we get there, and she sees you talking. She's just nervous. Mariana was too."
Mariana nodded "True, I did try and convince you skip and go get pedicures."
Stef laughed "See love? She'll be okay"
"The kids all want to go to the funeral" Lena said shouldering her purse "Well I don't know about Callie she didn't actually say one way or another."
"I decided I am going to go too" Stef assured her.
"We'll stay here" Sharon said "With any kid that decides they don't want to go."
"Then we'll have a nice dinner" Dana added "Maybe we could BBQ"
"Then do a movie night?" Sharon grinned "Or games!"
"I like that idea" Jude exclaimed "Can we mama?" He asked Lena batting his eyes hoping that would help calm her down a little.
Lena nodded "Sure buddy" She said shouldering her purse and grabbing her cell phone "Callie, we are leaving now! I want to see your body in the car in less than 30 seconds."
Dana's eyes got wide at Lena's tone. She was about to say something when Stef held up her hands "I've got her love, why don't you go start the car."
Lena nodded and kissed Mariana "My phone is on. Text if you need me" She looked at Jude "If Connor wants to come over for dinner and a game he is more than welcome."
Jude's jaw almost dropped at Lena's change in heart "Are you sure mama? I mean I can wait and see him if it's better."
"Up to you buddy" She said as she slipped out the door where all eyes turned to Stef "Is mama okay?" Brandon finally asked "She's well in words to Callie is on edge."
Stef shook her head "I think Mama's feeling a little overwhelmed right now."
"Because of Callie?" Mariana asked as Callie came down the stairs
Callie froze at hearing that.
"No! Not at all. Nothing to do with any of you kids." Stef said quickly trying to ease Callie's fears as well as Mariana's. Because her emotions and thought are running just as rapid as yours. She's trying to process."
"I don't want to go!" Callie turned to Stef "Don't make me go!"
"Sweets" Stef sighed "I think this is what is best for you. It brings us back to the conversation the other night. Sometimes I know what is best for you when it doesn't feel like it. I am your mom. I am not going to lead you into anything that harm you."
"I am done talking" Callie said clearly as pushed past Stef and headed out the door.
Stef smiled "Alright my babies" She addressed her three kids left in the room "Be good for Grandma's. Mariana in about forty minutes if Jesus isn't home call him home. Yes love?"
Mariana nodded "Yes mom"
Stef moved over to her and gave her a kiss "Thank you baby doll. Love you."
Mariana blushed "I am fine. I promise."
"I know" She smiled "You're in good hands. We'll be back in a little bit" She said blowing them all kisses.
Mariana shook her head "They have no idea what they are in for."
Jude sighed and nodded "Sadly that is a true statement Callie is in rather fine form today?"
"Fine form?" Dana laughed "Son how old are you?"
He blushed and shrugged while Sharon ruffled his hair. "Alright kiddos. Why don't you three go up shower, get dressed whatever you need to do while us Grandmother's clean up this kitchen."
"We can help" Jude offered
"No, we've got it" Dana promised "Go on baby go take some time to yourself to prepare for the day.
"Come on guys" Brandon nodded as he ushered his brother and sister out of the room knowing this is how his grandma's showed them that they loved them.

"Go straight up to our room and go to bed" Lena's voice was heard before anyone saw them as the back door in the kitchen opened.
Sharon Dana and Jude all stopped their scrabble game and looked up as they saw Callie dart in quickly with Lena following after her and Stef after Lena.
"I mean it Callie you march up those stairs and put yourself to bed. My bed. If you're going to act like a two year old, I am going to treat you as such and you clearly need a nap."
"Lena" Dana exclaimed "Baby! That doesn't sound like you."
Callie didn't say anything but headed for the stairs as Stef cleared her throat "Callie, are you wanting to go to the funeral?"
"No" Callie shook her head "I didn't know Emma or Kate, and I don't do funerals unless I have to."
"Alright love, do as mama says go take a nap. We'll most likely be gone when you wake up. However your gandma's will be here."
Sharon smiled "That we will. Go nap so I can spend some time with our Callie girl."
Lena cleared her throat "Why is this child still in this room when I've sent her to bed? Does anyone listen to me these days?"
Stef opened her mouth then shut it again. Lena was far past on edge and about to hit mental break down.
"Night" Callie said quickly making a quick getaway not wanting to fall further under Lena's rath.
Dana stood while Sharon tapped Jude's arm "Why don't you go check and see what Brandon's doing"
Jude nodded as he quickly left the room trying to go untoiced.
"Lena, honey this isn't like you" Dana said as she approched Lena "You need to.."
"No! Don't" Lena held up her hands "Don't tell me what I need to do! Don't tell me how I need to handle my kids! I am their mother me!"
"Honey, I was just going to say take a deep breath" Dana narrowed her eyes at Lena challenging her to argue that.
Lena rolled her eyes "I don't need to take a deep breath! That's not what I need!."
"I take it the appointment didn't go well?" Sharon said softly
"Callie refused to talk" Stef explained
"She did say before she left the house she refused" Sharon shook her head "Wow Stef, she is a stubborn child. Are you sure she's not bioglocally yours? It's like looking at you as a teenager."
"Cute" Stef shook her head at her mother
"Lena, you've never forced your kids to do something they dead set against. You've honored their thoughts and opinions."
Lena pinched the bridge of her nose "Didn't I just say you not to tell me how to handle my kids!"
"I am just trying to figure out what you are thinking sweetheart! You don't seem to acting like yourself."
"Oh and how is my supposed to act?" Lena demanded as Stef approched her slowly "Baby doll."
"Don't!" Lena pushed her away "Don't try and calm me down! I am not wrong!."
Sharon got up and poured Lena a glass of water and handed it to her. Which Dana and Stef were sure she was going to throw.
Lena took a minute to drink the water realizing how thirsty she'd become. "Thank you"
Sharon nodded "You're welcome doll"
Lena took a calming breath "I normally don't push my kids into doing things that they don't want to do. I mean there are things that they have to do and that's part of being in a family, being a kid. You know brushing their teething, doing their homework their chores those are things my kids don't have an option with. Callie did't have an option with group. It was part of her partole."
Stef nodded "Right"
"Sports and things, you're right they have an opinion on. Who they hang out with, where we go. I don't force them to do that."
Sharon nodded "Yes."
"This is different" Lena took another sip of water "Because I see my baby in so much pain it's hurting her and it needs to come out. Someway somehow and I can't help her! That's where we need a professional! I see this pain, I feel it myself and I can't save her! I couldn't save those kids either" Lena let out a whimper "I couldn't save them!." She held up her hands "I couldn't save them. I didn't even try" Tears were now rolling down her cheeks as she cleared her throat before backing out of the room keeping her hands up telling everyone in the room to leave her alone.
Stef watched her go before she looked at her mother "Mommy, what do I do?"
Sharon took a deep breath "You give her some space. She's processing."
"I feel like my family is falling apart around me and I can't save them. How do I save them?"
"Oh love" Dana said softly as she walked up to Stef wrapping her arms around her "Baby girl it's not all on your shoulders. We're here. You don't have to take it all on. You just love them.:
Stef sniffled "Yeah"
"Thank you. I guess I should feed the kids lunch and get ready for the funeral while Lena takes some space."
"We'll take care of lunch" Sharon promised "Why don't you go for a walk yourself. Take some time Stef"
Stef nodded "Thank you" She said kissing her mom's cheek "And thank you for staying with the kids while were gone and thank you for staying with Callie when we leave again."
"Remember we are here" Dana patted her back "Go for your walk"
Stef nodded "Did Jesus come home?"
"He did" She nodded "Him and Mariana have been watching TV in the other room since he came home."
Stef nodded "Okay" She said softly "I'll be back."
Dana looked to Sharon after Stef left "Oh my heart."
"We'll love them through it" Sharon promised as she opened the fridge to pull out sandwich makings while Dana got the chips.

Stef crawled into bed with Lena yawning but with a smile on her face "Hi love" She smiled
"Hi sweetheart, is B asleep?"
Stef nodded "Five books later and a bottle of monster spray by his bedside."
"I am sorry" She said softly "Moving is hard."
"Yeah" Stef laughed your telling me. "I am exhausted! Brandon's okay! He's so excited about this big house."
Lena smiled "Our first night in our house!"
"And I am crashing" Stef mumbled "We'll have to break it in later."
Lena pushed her playfully, is that all you think about?"
"Yes" She laughed "That's not normal?"
Lena reached over and brushed some blonde hair away from Stef's eyes "Well more now that I have you."
Stef laughed "I think about it alot, but not all the time. Lately I've been thinking about what you've said."
Lena frowned
"About?"
"Filling up these rooms in this big house. I want to fill these rooms. Seeing all our stuff in here and how big the house seems how empty it is with just the three of us. Lena we've got a lot of room and a lot of love."
Lena grinned "Really? I want more babies so badly. My heart aches for some kids. I love B so much I just have so much more to give."
Stef nodded as her hands gripped Lena "Any children we bring into this house are going to be so blessed to have you as a mama. They are just going to melt and become mama's kids."
"You're a great mother too Stef" Lena assured
Stef shrugged "I like to think so, but you've got a gift. Brandon has seen it since day one. He just fell in love with you. I am sure the other kids will see it too."
Lena smiled "We may get some pretty broken kids baby."
Stef nodded "We may get broken kids, but your hugs kisses love and guidance it's going to be what heals them. When they grow and leave our house as adults they are going to be such strong adults Because of you."
Lena shook her head "If that happens it's going to because of us! We're a team."
Stef kissed Lena's lips softly before snuggling in next to her. "I can't wait for our future babies to join us. I love you. I love Brandon I love our life and I love our children who are out there right now and will some day be ours."
Lena nodded "Yes.. Me too." She lay down next to Stef "I love you" She whispered as she closed her eyes holding her wife dreaming about her small family now and how great it was and how it could only get better with her babies that were coming to her some day.
