Ok, everyone, before we start, I'm going to go over the format that this arc will follow.
First up, there will be a chapter for character development an Akatsuki attack chapter and then an Angel attack chapter.
So, welcome to the first character development chapter showcasing how the characters change things at NERV.
Also, a quick note: Gendo is now officially dead, but he won't stay that way.
Now, onto the story.
It was early morning in Misato's apartment. Our leaf gang plus Rei II had spent the night there all in the living room because everyone was too nice to claim the bed.
Shinji was the only one awake and as Pen Pen entered the room he made a lot of shadow clones to go out and check on the rest of the pilots.
Pen-Pen blinked twice from seeing multiple Shinji's. Then, the warm-water penguin fainted.
Shinji's clones then split up to go and speak with the other pilots.
In Toji's room, he woke up to see a Shinji sitting on his windowsill like Spider-Man. The jock almost screamed, but Shinji covered his mouth. "Relax. I'm just here to check in on you and don't hit me I'm just a shadow clone.
The Shinji clone removed his hand from Toji's mouth and the jock said, "Shadow clones… They disappear when hit… How did I know that?"
Shinji spoke. "Well, when I knocked you all out, I kind of beamed a ninja cheat sheet into your head so you kind of know all of the gangs skills and moves and can do the substation jutsu, wall walking and water walking ninja skills, so I kind of made you into a ninja and I took away Asuka's bitchiness."
Toji just blinked before saying, "You are the best friend ever, dude."
The Shinji shadow clone spoke. "Thanks. The gang and I are heading out into the forest to train later. Please come. It'll be a good away for you to learn some more jutsu. Plus, anything you can do yourself, you can do a stronger version of it in the Evangelion."
The clone then handed Toji a map who took it and the jock said, "I'll be there. Believe it… Saying that is going to be a side effect, isn't it?"
The clone spoke. "It goes away after a while." The clone then dispelled. Everything happened the same way at Kensuke's house.
So, next came the clones that went to check on Hikari and Asuka.
The clone Shinji that went to Asuka had a shock that would haunt the real him for a while.
Asuka was dressed in her yellow dress and tapping her fingers together in a shy fashion like Hinata used to and her voice sound so girly as she said, "I'm sorry for being mean to you Mr ninja. Please forgive me." She sounded so innocent, sweet and kind. It was fucking scary as all hell.
The Shinji clone was quivering in fear as she handed her the map. "Sure. Here's a map to where we are all meeting later. Bye." The clone then dispelled, happy that his short life was now over.
When the memories of the new Asuka got to the real Shinji, it sent a cold chill down his spin.
Nothing too big happened with Hikari's clone. She just took the map and promised to be there.
When the Leaf gang did head out, Naruto and Shinji sent out some clones to keep people away and monitor the news.
A Shinji saw on the news that Ritsuko was being let out on work release and was heading back to NERV, now renamed Wille.
The Shinji only said one thing before dispelling himself. "Misato isn't going to like this shit." With that said, he dispelled.
Back in the training field in the forest…
Everyone had split up in groups.
Rei was teaching Rei II to use her ice powers.
Yamato was teaching Toji who turned out to have the water element.
Kimimaro was teaching Kensuke who turned to have the wind element.
Kurenai was teaching Hikari and Asuka genjutsu. Both girls had the fire element so they would have to go to Shinji to learn some elemental jutsu to use in fights, but that could wait.
Naruto and Shinji were training together. The night before, Naruto had watched a cartoon from the USA which gave him a lot of new ideas for Asura Path moves. Points to who ever can get the reference.
Sai was having a spar with Kiba and Shino.
Finally, Misato and Karin were getting ready to spar.
Karin was facing Misato as she summoned a chakra chain. "Ready, little miss trashy?"
Misato spoke as she put her gloves on. "Who are you calling trashy, miss panty-length shorts? By the way, I've been strength training with your grandma."
Karin's face paled as Misato punched the ground, sending a shock wave through the ground.
Karin quickly jumped into a train to avoid the pieces of flying rock that Misato's fists had sent flying at her.
Karin smirked as she formed a Rasengan on the end of her chain. "Nice try, but your boyfriend showed me his Rasengan Absorption technique." The Rasengan on the end of a chain pulled some shards of rock in to itself, becoming an Earth Release: Rasengan mace on a chain.
The red-haired lady had a smirk on her face as she jumped down from the tree, giving her Rasengan mace chain whip a good swing.
Misato saw the incoming ball-of-pain-tipped whip so she punched it. Her fist made contact with the Earth Release: Rasengan and the chakra ball vanished.
All color left Karin at this point. Misato had just beat a better version of her father's ultimate move using only her fist. Misato had become the first person to beat the Rasengan.
Karin made her chain fade away as she made two fists and bumped them together, summoning a one-tailed chakra shroud around her. "Don't forget: my mother still had fuzz butt sealed in her when I was in her womb, so I have fox demon chakra, too."
Misato got in a battle stance. "Please. I'm dating a Jinchūriki. I know how to handle a Tailed Beast chakra shroud."
In a second, Karin was upon Misato and delivered a round house kick to her head, but she vanished and was replaced by a log.
Misato jumped out from behind a tree and punched Karin in the back, sending the girl flying into a lake.
The water in the lake quickly turned to steam from the heat of the chakra shroud.
When the steam was gone, Karin walked up with her hair transformed into an afro thanks to the steam. "I give up. I need to fix my hair before anyone sees this," said the Uzumaki lady.
Misato then jumped for joy and made a 'v' with her fingers for victory. "Winner: Misato."
Karin was a lot stronger than Misato, but the little redhead had let her family's legacy go to her head so she had become arrogant and that was her downfall.
While this was going on, Asuka was having a break from her genjutsu practice and she was watching Kensuke practicing the Great Breakthrough jutsu that a clone of Naruto had showed him.
Kensuke was sitting in front of log. If he got the jutsu right the wind would fire from his hands, moving the log.
Kensuke went through the hand signs before calling out its name and moving his hands an inch forwards. A gust of wind fired from his hands and pushed the log over as the otaku jumped up and down celebrating having just used a superpower.
Asuka was secretly watching, blushing and tapping her index fingers together in a very Hinata-ish way as she blushed and muttered, "Kensuke," revealing that a now un-bitchy Asuka had crush on Kensuke and it was the same kind of crush that Hinata had on Naruto before they become a couple.
No one could have seen that one coming.
