Chapter 187
On Saturday December 15th Buffy was patrolling, fearing she would encounter Jessie, or any member of the Master's brethen. When Buffy saw two girls running from something she feared vampires. Buffy went towards this terror, but it was not a vampire. This thing was some sort of lizard creature. Buffy fought this thing, and drove a stake through it's heart. Whatever this thing was the stake killed it. Then Buffy saw Anya. She recognized Anya as an employee of Giles' Magick shop. But now she was scary, veiny looking, her face was gruesome. And Anya was angry at Buffy for killing this creature.
Anya: That was my pet! Did you have to kill it?
Buffy: It was going to kill those girls.
Anya: I had everything under control. I could've gotten to her in time.
Buffy: What are you?
Anya: Anyanka, vengeance demon. I worked at Mr. Giles' shop to gather intel.
Buffy: Abused women. I help them put vengeance on men who beat or rape them.
Buffy: Were those girls beating or raping other girls?
Anya: Fine, that got a little bit out of control. I put my pet in the Delta Zeta Kappa fraternity house, it's my fault she got loose. But did you have to kill her?
Buffy: What did your pet do to those guys?
Anya: The better question is what did they do? Those neanderthals raped twelve women at a fraternity party in March. Including your friend Cordelia incidently. If you really want to see what we did go over to their frat house. Hope you have a strong stomach.
