Buffy told Giles about Anya. Giles began researching Anyanka in his books, Jenny looked through her computer archives. Jenny's method was much quicker, though she didn't rub this in Rupert's face.
Giles: Anyanka is a vengeance demon, originally human she was made into a demon by D'Hoffryn and the lower beings. Each of D'Hoffryn's demons has a specific function. Anyanka's is to help abused women, usually killing their attackers.
Buffy: I saw what she did to those guys. Whatever they did, noone deserves to die like that. What do we do?
Giles: I'll fire Anya, might be safe to offer her a generous severance package.
Buffy: Can I fight her, if I have to?
Giles: I'll look for a weakness, but it would probably be best if Anyanka just left town.
Buffy: Do you have a chart of all our enemies, because it's hard to keep track of.
Giles: In the back.
Buffy: President-elect Wilkins, Faith, Angelus, Jessie, it's hard to keep track of who is our enemy or ally.
