Chapter 204
One of the things that Wilkins learned as president-elect was that there wera a number of mansions that he was allowed to live in while he waited for the innaguration. This might've conflicted somewhat with the man of the people image that Wilkins projected. Holland Manners visited Wilkins in one of these mansions. It was a few days before Christmas. These two sometimes celebrated Gurnenthar's Ascendance together, but Wilkins had to watch this a little with the press watching him. Holland would probably just burn lamb meet, rather than the traditional killing of live sheep. At any rate Wilkins was glad to see his old friend, but made him use the moist wipes. Holland Manners knew that Richard Wilkins was suprisingly obsesses about cleanliness for an indestructible sorcerer, but he also knew Wilkins didn't like Holland smelling like cigars.
Holland: Congragulations Mr. president.
Wilkins: Wel, I still have one more month before that becomes official.
Holland: Still, you'll do great things. I'm here on business actually, the circle wants me to remind you that we can be a valuable resource. Given your new title you could achieve power within the circle. But if you have little time, others could assume this responsibility.
Wilkins: Yes. Between my duties as president and my daughter, the slayer mind you, my duties to the circle could come second.
Holland: Understood. Provided you don't forget that we expect certain things.
Wilkins: I need certain things from the circle. We need to make a truce with the Watcher's council.
Holland: That could be difficult. Relations were strained before we stole their slayer.
Wilkins: I stole their slayer. Anyway things are happenning, both good and evil are in danger. We'll need to set aside minor differences if we expect to survive.
Holland: I see your point. I'll speak to the circle.
