Chapter 219
Dawn had mixed feelings right now. Just one day ago she loved Conner. But after what he'd done she felt hatred and fear. Conner seemed more merciful than this other guy, named Spike, but they had both kidnapped Dawn. It was Saturday morning, apparently. They claimed that Dawn would be released to Buffy tonight. Despite being a huge fan of the "Twilight" books Dawn didn't believe in vampires, until now. But Dawn saw Spike change his face in seconds, and he cast no reflection in the mirror. Dawn figured out what was going on from their conversations. Spike was trying to save his beloved Drusilla. Conner was human, but somehow his mother Darla was a vampire. Dawn was their hostage to force Buffy and a witch to revive Darla and Drusilla. On this Saturday afternoon Dawn's mother called her cellphone. Dawn spoke to her, tried to pretend everything was okay. Joyce could tell something was off. Dawn said it was because she and Conner broke up. Dawn didn't want her mother to worry. Suppossedly Dawn would be free before Joyce came home. But Dawn did want to question Buffy about what secrets she was apparently keeping.
