Quentin Travers liked to think of himself a bit like Winston Churchill. A strong leader, intellectual, wiling to take certain harsh measures to win a war. As Travers went to meet with President-elect Richard Wilkins he felt like Churchill meeting with Joseph Stalin. Travers and Wilkins didn't like each other. Travers knew Wilkins brought Faith the slayer over to the darkside. Wilkins suspected that Travers was behind the assasination attempt against Faith, his adopted daughter. But the Master could potentially destroy all life on earth. The circle of the Black Thorn and the Watcher's council had conflicting agendas, but neither would profit from the end of the world. As neither group could afford a war on two fronts. Travers and Wilkins might've hated each other, but they weren't above a temporary alliance.
